Farewell, So Long

This probably comes as a shocker to most of you (not so much to others if you knew my other blogs), but recently a lot has been going through my mind and I’ve come to a realization. See the rest below the cut. 

Alright, so a lot of stuff has happened to me recently that weren’t exactly happy moments. I lost my dog a while back. We had to put him down due to tumors in his lungs, an enlargened heart and exceedingly high heart rate. He was a very good dog, but at this point, we didn’t have a choice. He was suffering. It would be better for him. 

Then of course I experienced a multitude of unnecessary drama. Some that happened in this school, some that actually came from this community. I’m not calling out anyone or naming names, because that’s stupid and childish. I won’t soil someone’s rep over some internet drama. 

Back on topic, internet drama may end as fast as it starts and happens for the smallest of reasons, but like any kind of real life clashes, it really takes a lot out of you. Recently, I’m reminded of such things I have experienced not just on this blog, but on previous ones before that. Not just that, but certain replies to things have also rolled back my mind as to why I would normally quit in the first place.

It sucks. It really does. I enjoy this as a hobby, trust me do. It has helped me to improve writing over the years to a point where I just do it. It’s like a second nature to me now to write so well. But at the same time, therein lies the problem I mentioned in the paragraph before. 

Not just that, but I’m closer to my life as an adult with each step. I literally will turn 18 just next month, making me a legal adult. Not only that, but next month, my senior year starts. And then after that, comes college and career. Sure, on previous blogs I’ve left behind I mentioned that, only to come back when I realize I have more time than I estimated till that saga comes around. But this time, I know for a fact that I won’t have that timeframe to donate. 

Sure. Some people continue to RP even as they grow older, but considering my plans for my future career, I will never have time for this. 

I’m getting a Criminal Justice major to be a cop. Then after I feel I have served enough time, I’ll be working for game companies, eventually forming my own multimedia company. CEO’s can’t be bothered with this kinda stuff. Nor can a police officer whose work schedule is practically 24/7 to keep people safe.

I plan to rise to that rank and build myself up as such. I won’t be relegated to a cubicle job or something else because that’s not what I planned, nor what I want to be. God has great things for me in the future, and it will be best if I drop this now and ditch this habit. 

But don’t get me wrong, it’s not like I haven’t enjoyed my time here. I really have. And behind all the grime, I managed to find diamonds in not just the Sonic community here, but in other communities as well. I’ve formed bonds with people I feel like I can never forget, even if we drift apart nowadays. 

With that being said, I’ve had a hell of a time RPing, discussing ships, OCs and whatnot. It’s been great and I’m amazed that you all managed to stick with me for so long despite my dwindling activity here. Not only that, but I managed to rise up to 210 followers! That’s great! Especially considering I’ve never reached that milestone before!

Yet, despite all these pleasantries, it’s sad I have to go. But, all in due time I suppose. Thanks for the ride my dudes. You were all splendid.

Starter: The God and The Hero

⇌ Screams of people were let out, piercing the normally peaceful silence coupled with the light spring breeze. A normal crowd simply walking around the park suddenly dispersed like a startled school of fish as an evil robotic laugh rang out, coupled with the sounds of gun fire. 

What else could it be but a Badnik? He continually fired his arm-mounted weapon, cackling maniacally. “Yes, run puny humans! Run like cowards!” Shrieks and cries continued, the sounds of scared children crying became especially apparent throughout the myriad of noise. Just as the Badnik was about to head towards a group of particular children, he was interrupted by two different forces. 

One of which stepped on the scene ready to stop it, the other charging straight for it, jump-kicking the robotic monster back a bit. Stumbling it growled before the sight of the man. “Why you...”

“Badnik! Leave these children alone! First you harm innocent adults...now children? Unforgivable!”, Takahiro spat at the monster, pulling out a strange buckle and pointing it at him. “Kids, run to safety!”, he turned to them and back to the robot, then attaching it to his waist, a belt suddenly shooting out from the sides, the two connecting with a click. He posed with his legs spread out, one bent at an angle. His fist was closed tight, his arm in a right angle and scrunched into his hip. The other hand held up three fingers (that being the thumb, index, and the middle), all of which were tightly poised upwards and parallel, the others bent. 

“Henshin!”, he called. “HENSHIN.”, the belt’s deep robotic voice repeated. He suddenly reset his position to a normal pose as the belt suddenly clicked open, three red lights brightly shining and flashing as the armor formed onto him in a sort of digital fashion. With it finished, the eyes one his helmet flashed as the green color took form over the initial gray. 

“I’ll finish you at lightspeed!”, he proclaimed, the helmet projecting his voice as normal, as he suddenly took off with his trademark speed towards the Badnik, kicking it hard via his momentum and sending it flying back to the other figure who seemed to arrive on the scene. “Yo, think you could help me with this one?”, he called out to Akane as he rushed towards the robot, this time at normal speed. ⇌

⇌ Yikes, she was a whole other beast entirely whenever she was angry. He would feel sorry for whoever was on the receiving end of her wrath. But this was Shadow, not just any ordinary person. He silently hoped it would never happen. It would kill him as much as it would her if the situation was reversed in that situation. 

Though it definitely took him for a loop when she said “my Sonic” again. When was the last time she ever used those two in a sentence? Years or so? It obviously embarrassed her. “Look Amy, I get that you care and you’re protective of me but...this is Shadow. I’d rather not see you get hurt. Promise me you’ll keep it from getting physical.”, he gently put a hand on her shoulder, concern glazing his eyes.

“And it’s ok to say those things y’know. I ain’t gonna be with anyone else anytime soon.”, he put on his famous side smile as his hand slowly glided down to her exposed back (the spot being there due to her choice of wardrobe). “For now, let’s forget about attempting to bust Shadow’s face in and enjoy ourselves, ok?” ⇌ 

⇌ Sonic held up one hand defensively, playing along with her as he cheekily grinned. “Hey, that’s pretty obvious! You’ll be the only one I stare at, honest!”, he jokingly pleaded before erupting into chuckles, shaking his head lightly. “But yea, I agree. Might be nice to be at a beach again.”

Continuing the pace, he turned to her, giving her his full attention as she spoke about her sparring. He grinned. “Cool! Can’t wait to see you crack Eggie’s shell.” Though, Knuckles? Did he hear that right? Yeesh, someone sure toughened up. 

“Oh me? Well…I uh…”, did he really want to say it? Oh forget it, she’ll fish it out of him later somehow. “I reconnected with Rouge and them and uh…Shadow knocked me right in the nose. We kinda got into a small fight…it was like Knuckles all over again…only it lasted longer…”, he nervously admitted, rubbing his head in an embarrassed manner. “…and I may have gotten a broken nose…complete with bleeding- but I’m fine now!”  ⇌
