"FEY: A Guide to Fairies of the Butch Variety'' is an art book project celebrating butch folk and fairies, framed as a field guide! . We welcome all sorts of butch and queer fairy ideas and are excited to see how our artists and writers plan to explore the concept.

This project will feature 30 artists and 6 writers. Creators will be split into 6 groups, by theme: Garden Fairies, House Fairies, Dark Fairies, Courtly Fairies, City Fairies, Wyld Fairies.

The Forms will close on the 19th of January, or once we reach 500 applications for artists and 100 application for writers.

What content is allowed?

Will artists be able to draw fairies from mythology and folklore? How about non-european inspiration? Will there be nsfw art in this zine? What type of writing will be included?

Apps open on the January 12th , 10 am AEDT, (Jan 11, 6pm EST for the US). And will close on the 19th of January, or once we reach 500 applications.

Butch Fairy Zine: Answering questions

What art style are we looking for? What is the estimated timeline? Will you get paid? we answer them here!

We will be answering more questions and posting them in the days leading up to the artist application form opening. So if you have questions, use our inbox, or you can fill in our interest form and leave them at the bottom. And if you have queries for the frog, you can leave them there too. He is very busy, so keep that in mind.

Butch Fairy Zine: interest check!

This is an interest check! For a Butch fairy themed art zine to be held in 2024. Find the link here

This will be an art book that celebrates butch folk, and fairies, but through the lense of a field guide, with sketches and concepts alongside full colour illustrations. This project is currently being planned by 5 people, and a frog 🐸

This is not an Artist App form, but if you want to apply as an artist, you can still fill this in. We will make An Artist form later in January.

growing up the rule was we were allowed to be openly disrespectful and rude to dad, but only if it was funny. if it flopped then we would have to endure a lecture about where we went wrong and what might have made it funnier. or, alternately, he would just say, "oh yeah? well i fucked your mom" which there aren't a lot of comebacks for.
