I personally am one for swapping around their species!!! It allows for a lot of creativity and story development going forward! It could even be the reason behind the twins eventually finding their good old Papa.

(Let me explain, and DO FEEL FREE to just go "... No." On this idea xD)

Making Venus a soft shell like Donnie could immediately cause a problem for Meg. That being Venus' similarities to Donnie. From Venus' natural talent for making traps and inventions, to her higher IQ, all the way down to her soft shell. Everything Venus does? Meg only sees Donnie's little shadow.

This resemblance only grows if Venus makes her own "battle shell" later down the line. (Maybe not exactly a battle shell- But a covering of a kind!) And maybe this shell cover could have a haunting resemblance to Donnie's iconic battle shell.

But it also allows for a more... Dangerous side to form for DJ. As you mentioned, DJ is the one twin who can be described as... Well.

Attack first, ask questions later.

He's the brawler. The kid who will (eventually) lead his own team with an AMAZING strategy on the mind. Annnd the force to back up his ambitions. But for the moment, the kid speaks with his fists.

As a soft shell, it would force DJ to be more strategic about guarding his back. However, as a sea turtle? That worry goes out the window. Aka, DJ gets to REALLY be a tank like his Uncle Raph.

(Honestly, this is where switching could be good because DJ gets to go all out! But also, keeping the twins their original species leads to DJ learning more about strategy due to his own disadvantage!)

CONTINUING FURTHER-

At this point, maybe it's become extremely difficult for Megera to really look at her children. They have aged well, and Meg loves her kids! She really does! But. They remind the queen every single day of their dad. And this could eventually lead to a point where Meg... Slowly stops looking her children in the eye. She pulls away ever so slightly. Starts focusing more on her duties to the clan before her duties as a mother to her children.

(Poor Megera is heartbroken. She hasn't seen her actual lover for nearly a decade! Or, depending on when this could all go down, over a decade! Of course, this is not the twins' fault! But they keep asking about their dad...)

Maybe it gets to the point where the twins have had enough. It's Venus who originally suggests sneaking out and possibly finding out more info on their father. DJ jumps on board immediately because he's not about to let Venus go out into the Hidden City all by herself!

So the two manage to sneak out of the Tesudo Clan and into the Hidden City. (With. Very little knowlege on where to even start their search. Welp. Time to play a game of "F Around and Find Out!")

Let's just say, for lore reasons, a very special Mutant happened to be in the very same location as the two incredibly lost twins.

And he just so happens to ALSO be named Donatello.

... Ohhh boy, this is going to be *fun.*

That's an excellent suggestion.

The idea that the twins are defectors from the Tetsudo clan is SO INTERESTING!! Perhaps this could be a good subplot to see how Lita connects with the Tetsudo clan, and consequently, the entire family reunites. I'll include some DRAMA (ﾉ´ヮ`)ﾉ*: ･ﾟ

You'll see, I started thinking about what these two would look like if I swapped species (Venus as a softshell and Junior as a green turtle). I only plan to change their species, not their designs.

Donnie: Lorie seeing her beloved back would be very emotional, both of them wouldn't be able to stop crying. The twins would see him as someone strange at first (why does he have eyebrows? and why is he completely covered? and what does he have on his shell?), but they would be excited to have an amalgamated father, especially Venus. And besides, he's a turtle THAT FLYS!! They would love to have a father as incredible as Donnie. And Donnie, well, all he can think is that his children are beautiful and perfect.

Sheldon: Well, in my AU, I want to think that after the confrontation with Shredder and the damage to the lair, Sheldon's AI was so damaged that Donnie had to reset it, which evolved into Friday.

Leo: He'd be surprised if Donnie had twins. He'd never have expected it. The twins would see him as the coolest uncle.

Raph and Mikey: Junior would be more attached to Raph, because he's a guy who looks very cool, he's huge and he looks badass. Venus would see more of Mikey, who she believes is the best wizard she's ever seen in person.

so who are going to be the main villains in next gen like is there going to be a next generation of foot clan wanting revenge on the Hamato Clan or agent bishop and the EPF because with all the stuff happening in New York with the mutants, Yōkai and the Krang invasion years ago I get the feeling that they will want to get involved

I really love being asked these kinds of questions!

Regarding the Foot Clan, they existed in the series because they praised Shredder, a product of the Krang. They were their "masters," so without them, the Foot Clan loses its purpose. Let's say a Foot Clan will re-emerge, but it will now have a completely different purpose. These are already part of Next Gen. I just need to know how to introduce them.

Bishop and EPF are also canon antagonists in my AU, except this one is more part of the Rise Young Adult universe.

I'm even looking into including the Triceratons or Fugitoid (but the latter would be too much, I guess).

As long as you guys keep suggesting, asking, and supporting, I'll know how to expand my AU and create more lore about it.

How did Casey react to finding out he was gonna be a dad?

April was worried about how Casey would react. She was scared because Casey hadn't finished her studies yet, and she already wanted to start her career as a reporter.

But to her surprise, Casey went from shock to euphoria. He was very happy to have a child with her.

And thanks to that reaction, April was the one who took the initiative to get married (yes, it turns out her pregnancy was the main incentive and the perfect excuse for April to propose to Casey).

What were April and Casey's reactions to seeing Johnny in his Fenrir form for the first time????

It was quite a shock to them, as they didn't know Jon was practicing controlling all his forms with Lita. It was in the middle of an attack with a mutant.

While Lita defended herself, Jon put his Fenrir form to use on the battlefield for the first time. His parents were in shock.

They typically shouted "JONATHAN!?!?" They were shocked to see Jon as Fenrir (especially since they already knew about the existence of Fenrir and wolf yokai).

Monaphael relationships Headcanons! These HCs are from the characters' courtships, long before NextGen.

An important fact you should know about my AU is that it is based on the comic "Rottmnt: Farewell"

In this timeline, after Leo from the future intervened in this present so Leo could say goodbye to Splinter on his deathbed, the Turtles were now on their own.

April and Casey focused on their studies, and the Turtles simply continued their duty to protect New York.

Due to loneliness and distraction, at the end of November, since Casey and April couldn't spend Christmas or New Year's with them, the Turtles decided to have their own "December break."

After going to the hidden city for vacation, they decided to go to the rural area of ​​the hidden city, a place full of haciendas and outdoor activities for tourists. And they decided to spend a few days there.

The turtles settled into an inn rented by a friendly married couple who own the hacienda. It was, by the way, very elegant and large (a Latin hacienda).

It was right there that the turtles met Mona, who arrived riding a creature with a fugitive tied up.

Mona is a permanent guest at this couple's hacienda. They discover that Mona is not only a great bounty hunter, but also a very good bodyguard, and they see her as the daughter they never had.

Raph immediately fell in love with Mona and was struck by her personality and her adorable, subtle southern accent.

After this, Donnie tried to help Raph with some of Mona's courtships, which ended in embarrassing situations. Let's just say that Donnie tried to teach Raph some basic science, but he didn't understand anything.

Unfortunately, the vacation was abruptly cut short when he realized he was being pursued by another bounty hunter: Leatherhead.

Mona helped them escape the village. Raph couldn't tell Mona how he felt because of his shyness, and they said goodbye. This left Raph heartbroken, thinking they would never see each other again.

After the Tetsudo Clan incident and Megara and Lorie joining the team, Raph and the Turtles received the news that Draxum had disappeared, and they had to rescue him, as he was in danger.

After tracking him down, they discovered that it was Mona who had him imprisoned in an abandoned mine in the human world.

Raph didn't understand why Mona had kidnapped him, and he was disappointed that the one he was in love with was "evil," and they began a fight to free Draxum.

They managed to free him and hide him in the lair, but unfortunately, Mona used her natural poison to poison Draxum.

So, Draxum had a lifespan. Donnie tried to create a cure, but it was futile. Only Mona had the antidote, so she issued an ultimatum.

The reason Mona kidnapped Draxum was to force him to work on a cure for the mutagen, as she was a victim of the Ooezquitos and wanted to become human again.

Mona was already working on a cure, but nothing ever worked. They wasted no time, and Donnie and Draxum began their creation of the antidote, but after a time, it was all in vain. Draxum knew it was wasted time; there is no cure for the mutagen.

Raph tried to reason with her, as she was living in constant denial about the fact that she is a mutant, as she was beginning to develop a certain attraction to Raph. But she refused to accept that she is a mutant; after all, "a human can't be with a mutant."

After the devastating news, Mona tried to return to the hacienda, not wanting to see the turtles again. This devastated Raph greatly, as even without confessing her love, his heart was already broken.

As fate would have it, on her way to the hidden city, she ran into Todd at his dog shelter. Seeing that he was also an info-sensitive mutant, Todd offered to let her spend the night there, and Mona accepted. This revealed that Donnie was the one who helped him build the dog shelter, and in the process, they had a deep conversation.

-Mona: So, you're also a mutant?

-Todd: *pours lemonade* That's right.

-Mona: Doesn't it bother you? I mean, you've lost your humanity.

-Todd: What are you talking about? Of course I haven't. I'm not a monster.

-Mona: I don't get it…

-Tod: It's easy. I may be a capybara now, but that doesn't change who I am, or what I can aspire to be. My dream was always to help my friends and the cute dogs on the street, and that's what I did. I can't be happier than that.

Life is constantly changing, it will bring you struggles and blessings. It's up to you what you want to do with those changes. We may no longer be human, but that doesn't mean we can't make decisions and adapt. Don't you think? Maybe it's time to start a new life and accept it, not because you don't have a choice, but because a new experience awaits you, don't you think?

Mona had an epiphany and began to accept herself as she was. Now Mona made her decision: she would leave her job as a bounty hunter to begin studying cryptobotany and become a magical apothecary in the hidden city.

However, now she had to complete one last mission, catching a criminal: Hideous Green. A dangerous mission, and her last.

As fate would have it, Raph was willing to confess to her to gain "closure" with Mona, so he arrived at the ranch with that intention. When he learned she would be going on one last mission, Raph offered to "help" her on that last mission and told his brothers he would be away for a few days.

Those days of traveling in search of Hideous Green were what they needed to learn to be intimate. They were open about their feelings and insecurities, and they had a connection. Enough to accept each other, and feelings began to emerge.

Upon accomplishing her mission and finally capturing Hideous Green, Raph finally worked up the courage to confess to Mona. He hadn't expected anything, but Mona accepted him without hesitation.

Thus, they made their relationship official. Mona still had a lot of studying to do, so she remained at the ranch, and Raph could visit her whenever he wanted.

Their only ultimatum was that Mona still hated Draxum but would tolerate him for her beloved Raph, and Raph wouldn't force her to like his creator.

What would Willow think of Leo, if she were to still alive?

Probably, seeing her daughter attracted to Leo, Willow would think, "If my stoic daughter starts smiling around this guy, he must really be a sweetheart."

And she would cover for her to meet Leo and encourage her to get to know him better (especially since she would know what her relationship with her fiancé is like).

All of this before knowing his human DNA, of course. But even knowing his human DNA, she would see more than just a mutant, a good guy who would make her daughter happy.

In other words, she'd approve.

Btw, I'd like to hear the turtle canon about their breathing. I exaggerated with the 15 hours because that's the maximum time sea turtles can sleep underwater. Now, canonically, their maximum endurance is 5 hours.

She's currently engaged to another turtle.

She keeps her romance with Leo a secret.

She has an older brother named Cassius and a strict father, the current king of the Tetsudo clan: Alastor.

Her mother died in battle protecting the clan.

She's the heir to the throne, as she is the most worthy and the only one in her family with hydrokinesis, which is essential for the right to the throne.

She is engaged, but neither she nor her fiancé have a formal, much less decent, relationship. However, she keeps her relationship with Leo a secret; in other words, he's her secret lover.
