■ Mike’s bedroom!! (he’s so sentimental isn’t he)

He really is! I love him

Mike is naturally The Messiest. He's an absolute disaster (and, y'know, a teenage boy, which doesn't help with the smell /jk). He has 24 pairs of pants and all of them are hidden on the floor under three feet of garbage. There are cereal bowls everywhere. It's a nightmare. The only time he cleans it to be remotely normal messy levels is when Will's going to come over. Which means it was gross for a solid few months while the Byers were living in California.

However! When he and Will get together (and Will is disgusted at the mess), he manages to get his act (mostly) together and at least have the floor and surfaces of his room cleared. (His drawers and bins are still a mess, but Will winds up organizing them every few weeks (AKA, he goes to steal Mike's hoodie, almost breaks the drawer because it's so stuffed with random junk that Mike just threw into his clothes drawer, sighs, and reorganizes it.)

It's originally painted navy blue (and with the iconic buff guy posters - what the fuck are those, Michael Queeler), but when they move to a new city after all the supernatural stuff is done, Mike paints his room green and has navy blue stuff inside it.

He and Will get the habit of sleeping in the same bed to stay calm after nightmares and ease their separation anxiety/PTSD. Because it's easier on everyone to stay at Will's (fewer homophobic dads and more anxious moms that don't like Will sleeping away), Mike's bedroom only gets used 1-2 nights a week. Still, it's Mike's safe space and very comfortable (well, as comfortable as a messy teen boy's room can be.)

Some of the highlights of Mike's room include his guitar, a Nintendo, the binder of Will's artwork, and Will's paintings hanging over his bed. (Will teased him enough about the buff guy posters that Mike 'took them down', but they are now hanging inside his closet instead. Which somehow makes Will tease him even more.)

HOW UA SHOULD HAVE ENDED

Hard cut to Klaus talking to the girl on the bicycle

Klaus: “Did we save the world or screw it up again?”

Bicycle God: “You were never the problem”

She holds up an action figure of Reginald and crushes it in her bare hands. Marigold lights emerge from it. Golden light envelops everything

Hard cut to Klaus waking up in bed. He is wearing pajamas covered in marigolds.Street noise can be heard from outside.

(From offscreen) “You okay, Hon?”

Klaus looks over and Dave is cooking breakfast in their flat

Klaus: “Yeah, just had a weird dream.”

Looks out the window and sees an empty lot where the Hargreeves mansion should be.

Klaus: “Wasn’t there a building there?”

(Naïve Melody by the Talking Heads begins to play over a montage)

Diego and Lila Are wrangling their kids into the camper van. One of the kids gives Lila a picture of her family in a field of bunch of orange flowers (marigolds)

Luther is stripping and the obsessed lady in the crowd is Sloan. He has a marigold in his mouth. He takes it out and gives it to her.

Viktor is playing the violin with Harlon. Sissy is setting the table. She sets a bouquet of marigold into a center vase.

Allison is gardening while Clare and Ray play in the yard. She is planting Marigolds.

Five is teaching at some university. An older woman comes in. “Dolores” he says as she kisses him.

Jennifer serves Ben at the dinner. Closeup on her pouring coffee. He has a Durango flower tattoo that says “Jennifer” and she had a marigold tattoo that says “Ben”

Cut back to Klaus staring out the Window

Dave: No, been an empty lot as long as I can remember

Klaus, smiles: Yeah, I don’t know why I thought that

Camera Zooms out from the window as music continues

Reginald, voiceover: And that is how our unlikely heroes manage to create one timeline where everything was fine.

i think the most disappointing thing about season 4 was that the soundtrack did not hit nearly as hard as it should’ve. where was britney spears. where was mcr. i think we’re alone now had me in tears but WHERE WAS ABBA.

Waring for spoilers, duh

-Omg, Victor is sort of a player now?

-And he owns a bar! Didn't know I need this in my life but I kinda love it?

-DIEGO AND LILA'S CHILD IS CALLED GRACE, OMGGGGG!!!!!!! I hadn't thought about it but it feels so right!

-Luther as a stripper 💀💀💀 Def didn't need that in my life. I'm not too surprised he's not really good at it.

-OMG, Lila and Diego have two children?!?

-Also, are these her actual parents?! Somehow not dead?! (I could have absolutely not understood the scene)

-Was Ben in jail?!?!

-Klaus picking up Claire!!!! Tbhh, the friendship between him and Allison is a bit underrated. (She called him, of all people!!!)

-Also Klaus being afraid to die...

-A whole group of people having conspiracy theories about the timelines 😬😬

-And Five being there!!!

-So happy the moustache was fake. 💀💀

-Oh, he's also once again working with some sketchy people.

-I kinda like how some of them are still in touch?? Claire is staying with her cousins!

-Klaus is so different...Is he kinda staying at Allison's?

-Luther bringing Ben to the rest immediately while he's kicking and screaming 😬😬

-Him actually interacting with Five!

-Oh. Claire is staying with her cousins but Allison is interacting only with Klaus...

-Diego trying to be a hero again....

I can’t bring myself to see it as canon

As I’m trying to come to terms with whatever the fuck that was, I’ve decided that:

Seasons 1 and 2 are peak. Absolute masterpieces. Canon.

Season 3 can be taken or left. Has its moments, but overall not as good as the first two. Canon, but only if you want it to be.

Season 4 is a fucking crack fic written at 2am that the author rereads at a later date and decides to delete. Absolutely not canon.

Something I don't think we talk about enough is the vines LITERALLY TIGHTENING when Mike says I love you to El.

THEY TIGHTEN. THEY HOLD HER BACK. SHE IS BEING CHOKED TO DEATH, AND MIKES CONFESSION LITERALLY MAKES IT WORSE.

He didn't save her. He stopped her from resisting, he gave her sense. He calmed her down, but he didn't save her at all.

Plus the faces that both of them make right before the confession. Mike does the classic Finn Wolfhard I'm-about-to-lie-lip-bite, and El is crying. She's not having fun, she's not happy about Mike finally saying it, she's literally dying. It’s not a wholesome love confession if it’s even a real love confession at all.
