I think a lot of people forget that Rock is way stronger than he looks.

Here's something a little more heartfelt if you wanna see:

X may have had Dr. Cain, and Dr. Light in a way, but that didn't change the fact that he was all alone in this world. Sometimes he really wished Dr. Light gave him a sibling or even a support unit. Anything that would've made the loneliness a little more bearable.

I suppose his wish came true, but in a way he never expected.
