31st May 2025
I woke up early at about half five, it was quite bright. I didn't intentionally wake up early but I heard a noise in the night and when I wake up I can't really go back to sleep. It was peaceful though, I opened the window and had some black coffee. I watched a documentary about 3 mile island and it was good and informative. Made another cup of coffee and started some history revision but I forgot breakfast, which my dad nagged me for at about 11am (when he got up, as he had a day off work). We chatted about music and he recommened me a band called The Popguns who I listened to later in the day, they are quite good. He also told me about how he snuck into a wedding present concert in the late eighties when he was around my age.
Later on, we went to the shops. I picked out a candle which was lavender scented. It smelt nice initially but when I lit it it smelt a bit weird. I had some pasta for lunch. I did a few hours of revision for science, and was tired by the end of it. I face timed my friend for an hour or so and she told me about a folklore story in her area. I decided to stop revising for the rest of the day, I went out on a walk and listened to some music, mainly the March Violets. I bumped into my boyfriend at about 5pm and went around to his house for a couple of hours where we watched an Icelandic film called When the Raven Flies in his bed. I understood a alright aount of it but relied heavily on subtitles.
I came home at 7, my dad had tried to cook tea but he burnt it, so we got some pizza at the takeaway, I had a margarita and he had mushrooms (I don't get how he can eat it). We played a card game for a bit and put on a vinyl (Tim- The Replacements).
Then I set up this blog and spent a bit of time writing some information about myself on the pinned post. My dad has work tomorrow and has to get up early so he went to bed early. I stayed up and rewatched Tsar Ivan Groznyy (the 1991 one), the subtitles weren't much of a help but it's like I understand it better every time I watch it.
Going to bed after this.

Introductory post
Hello, my name is Lloyd (he/him), I am going to use this blog as a diary blog, so I probably won't follow or interact with a lot of people. It is mainly a writing exercise/public diary blog, I might now be regular in my posts. Here is some information about me.
-I live in the Conwy area with my dad, although I have lived in Salford most of my life.
-I have a small group of friends and a boyfriend.
-I play violin (grade 5), piano, and guitar, but I have never been properly taught or graded on piano or guitar, I have learned various bits from my dad/online.
-I am politically left wing.
-I am 15 (but turning 16 next month) and in year 11. My favourite subjects are history and literature, I like music too but I find music GCSE quite demanding, so I will not be taking it a level. I am taking history, biology, English language and English literature.
-My hobbies are learning about history and mythology/folklore (I have a specific interest in Vikings, The Cold War, Celtic and English Medieval history, and I am interested in mostly Celtic, Chinese, Slavic and Norse mythology and folklore), listening to music (especially punk and its subgenres, britpop, synthpop, goth, new wave and indie), watching Soviet films, going on walks, playing video games, visiting museums, baking, writing, playing my violin, playing DND and reading.
-My favourite food is tagliatelle with spicy red pesto.
-I used to play football, which I like to think I was alright at. I was quite good at fencing though, which I also used to do.
-I have been told I type quite formally/obnoxiously, sorry if I come across as sarcastic.
-I like learning about animals, especially deep sea ones, but I also love reptiles too. And prehistoric ones like dinosaurs.
-I am autistic.
-I speak English, I can hold a conversation in Welsh and Dutch (my grandad was from The Netherlands), I am also trying to learn some Icelandic and Russian.
-I am and have been raised Quaker.
-I like to collect vinyls, cassettes, VHS, DVDs, CDs, coins, old magazines, rocks/gemstones, dice and squishmallows.
-My parents were never married and I do not have a lot of contact with my mam, although (despite what many people seem to assume) I don't mind it this way, we were never very close and I think it was for the best that she did not raise me. I am in pretty regular contact with my older half sister (mams side) though.
-I have a leopard gecko named Speck for coming up to 8 years! It is his 'birthday' soon, and last year we got a kitten (our neighbours cat had kittens and they gave us one) he is an adorable white longhair and I named him Fyodor.
-When I am older, I would like to be either a librarian, historian, writer or archivist.
-The 5 historical figures I like the most/find the most interesting are Holy Roman Empress Consort Matilda, Stanislav Petrov, Queen Boudica, Dick Turpin (yes, this interest started at age 7 when I saw Matthew Batyon as him on horrible histories...) and Egil Skallagrímsson
-My 5 favourite bands are Joy Division, Agatha Christie, New Model Army, The Pogues and A-ha. Honourable mention to Manic Street Preachers.
-My 5 favourite films are The Ascent, Apocalypse Now, Tsar Ivan The Terrible I & II (1944, although I like the 1991 one as well, love Dimitri Pisarenko in it), The Lighthouse and 24 Hour Party People. Honourable mention to Porridge.
-My 5 favourite books are Frankenstein, The Secret History, The Picture Of Dorian Grey, To Kill A Kingdom and Eragon. Honourable mention to Lord Of Rings, Endless Night and Philip Larkins Poetry.
-My 5 favourite Ps4 games are Kingdom Come: Deliverance, Elden Ring, Bloodborne, Fallout 76 and The Sims 4. Honourable mention to Minecraft.
-My 5 favourite gemstones are labradorite, peridot, nephrite, bixbite, and star ruby. Honourable mention to watermelon tourmaline.
-My 5 favourite TV shows are Doctor Who, M*A*S*H, The Young Ones, Seventeen Moments Of Spring, Lockwood & Co (don't judge me). Honourable mention to Vikings.
-My 5 favourite mythological/folklore figures are Skaði, Njörðr, The Lady Of The Lake (from the Authurian legend, but I find all ladies of all lakes cool), Badb and Leshy. Honourable mentions to Baba Yaga and Xiwangmu. Probably a good time to mention that I don't practice paganism/wicca/anything similar, while I have the upmost respect for people who do, I am simply interested in the stories and mythology.
