Time and time again, I’ve found that I’ve deceived myself. Told myself lies, masked them as black truths. In the corpse I’ve grown in I noticed the withered lilies, the rotting tongues, the black fingers bitten to the bone. I’ve known of death since I was a young boy. My last thing before uni takes hold of me and never lets me go till probably Christmas break / January when fall semester finishes… haha… [nervous laughter into the distance…] (I HAVE EXACTLY 14 DAYS BEFORE I START UNI SO PLEASE AGGRESSIVELY WRITE WITH ME TILL THEN I’M ON MY KNEES??? Thank you.) Anyway. I just want to let you all know that this summer was probably one of the best roleplay experiences in all five years I’ve pretended to be someone else and you all were apart of it somehow and in contribution so I just, really, really would like to take this time to thank everyone. Because this will be my second-to-last summer on roleplay, it really is important to me and I’m kinda feeling emotional and things!!! I don’t deserve any of you in the least.

semi-hiatus???

Well, it’s that time of the year again orz

so for the next three weeks i have marching band camp from 8am-5pm EST and then I start classes back up August 31st so I’m gonna be on pretty sporadically doing replies and all that jazz bc school will hold me hostage until fall break tbh but I can’t promise I won’t take 100 years to do replies especially if they’re longer I’m so sorry everyone orz

She almost reached up to pull the hanging cord, deciding she couldn’t risk staying on the bus just in case someone decided to get curious about her ears. However, she felt something incredibly soft and warm covering her head, looking over at Ari with wide eyes. “I– Are you sure I can have this?”

It slipped Lana’s mind for a brief moment that maybe she should be worried if he thought she had some deformity. The second she remembers though, she looks down at her lap, a hot flush turning her cheeks red in embarrassment. How ironic that after so many centuries of being told her ears were a sign of power and making fun of other elves whose ears were as flat as a human’s, that now Lana was ashamed for anyone to see them.

“Erm, thank you, really…if it’s all the same to you, I’d prefer if you didn’t mention this little incident.”

His hesitance is understood, even with her limited scope of human interactions, Lana knows that humans seem to lie more than they laugh, telling lies even about trivial things like the time they woke up. She sits silently, taking a sip of her steaming tea as she silently awaits his response. Her face brightens into a broad grin as he gives a laugh, the dark skies seeming to part as well with the motion. It’s a brief action, but it seems to take years off the stranger’s face.

He almost seems to be analyzing the pros and cons of even speaking to her, expressions showing brief flashes of his train of thought. He was tired and this was not an exhaustion that a good night’s sleep could easily cure. Lana remembers all too vividly being in the same place, putting on a facade of calm for her people when bordering on a complete meltdown.

Without even thinking, she reaches across the table and grips his free hand in her comparatively tiny one, formerly bright green eyes soft in solidarity. Lana had no idea if this was some sort of social taboo here, but the elf hoped that the gesture properly conveyed her understanding. “I know what it’s like, believe it or not. And I suppose I’ve just got a familiar face? Maybe we have met before, I’m mostly just too nosy for my own good.”

“Oh, uh, sure if you--you took it already, awesome.” Lana chuckles to herself, noting that the excited male seemed more like a young child receiving his favorite candy than a grown man who smelt of burned out plants. “It’s amazing, isn’t it? Really detailed and the diagrams are absolutely gorgeous! Oh, and sorry about all the writing and highlighting, I get a bit rambly when I see stuff I like or want to remember.” She explained, quickly realizing she was rambling with a sheepish little smile.

But, it seemed she needn’t worry as the towering male was completely engrossed in the book, jerking back as he suddenly looks up and pushes the book back, apologizing profusely. It was quite amazing, honestly, Lana had no idea humans had thought of so many different ways to say “I’m sorry.” “It’s fine, really, I’ve read that book a fair amount of times now. Quite frankly, the stars are the only thing familiar in this wo--erm, country.” Even with her almost complete descent into her own sob story, Lana notices him relax considerably, his excited rambling about the observatory reaffirming her image of him actually being an excited boy with all the candy in the world. She’d have to note it down, or maybe coerce him into taking her there himself.

“I think it’s pretty impressive, the skies are pretty important. I mean, even reading this book and all the stuff people know, there’s a billion other things no one’s ever seen! But, I had no idea there were any observatories here, maybe we could go together sometime? I’ll admit, as fascinated as I am, I’m a bit of a rookie myself.” She laughs quietly, her manager giving her a warning glare at her volume. “Listen, Chanyeol, since you’re so interested in it, how about you have my copy of this? Free of charge, just promise me you’ll be the best damn janitor NASA’s ever had.”

As much as she knew she should be hiding her powers in this realm and keep a low profile until she could figure out how to get home, the young elf found that there were just too many adorable animals for her not to put on the cover of “animal whisperer” so she could interact with them. She had never seen a piglet up close and this one, Peanut, as she learned, was quite the charmer, easily climbing into her lap for any affection she’d give. With a giggle, Lana stroked his silky hair with a smile, looking over at his owner with a laugh. “Peanut? It’s adorable! Suits him perfectly!”

The brunette could see his curiosity, why his pet was suddenly curled up in her lap with a happy snort. Or why she knew Peanut didn’t get as much time outdoors as a farm animal should. In fact, even if she wasn’t so good at talking to animals, Lana could see the worry lined in between his furrowed brows and gave an absolutely delighted laugh, shaking her head and attempting to dismiss any worries of his. “I’m no undercover animal protection agent or something wild like that. I’m actually an animal whisperer, always had a talent for communicating with little ones like Peanut. But, if you’d really like to know, he’d only like a short walk outside. Stretch legs and all that, but he knows you’re busy, Spencer--”

Suddenly, it dawns on Lana that the man in question had never told her his name. She also realizes he’s staring at her with a reasonable amount of confusion still and her broad grin turns sheepish, gently rubbing Peanut’s back nervously. “Uh, I mean...if that’s your name?”

The nonchalance Jooyeon seemed to still exhibit somehow managed to be both irritating yet reassuring, a constant in this ever-changing world. Groaning as the weight was lifted off her chest and set onto her legs, Lana crossed her eyes and gave a stubborn pout, looking up at the joyfully blue sky. Even with all the centuries that had passed and Lana’s ascension to the throne, elves never truly lost their childlike energies. The brunette liked to say it was part of her charm.

“First of all, not a garden gnome, those things are terrifying and the second worst thing humans could have invented. Second of all, I’m an elf, I’ll probably look like this for another 600 years if I manage to not get myself killed.” She chortled before turning and frowning at her still smoking companion. “Barely bloomed. He probably had some big dreams ahead of--Would you stop that!? I’m not a child come to visit her elders!” Her words are cut by the soft pat to her cheeks, moving her own to bat it away with a whine. As if she needed yet another woman trying to be her mother, she’d had enough of that with her own mother. And the fact that after probably a full millennium, Jooyeon wanted to act as if the world and time hadn’t changed them both only made the elf want to throttle her with a grape vine. Improved her social skills? Yeah, right, Lana was positive her social skills would remain in the Han dynasty for all eternity. “No, that’s not what I want, what would be nice for you to acknowledge, though, is that the closest they had to a laptop the last time I was here was an abacus! Or, I don’t know, maybe, “gee, Lana, are you doing okay? You did say you would never be able to come back here the last time we talked,” that’d be nice too.” Frankly, she had no right to be angry at Jooyeon, but living in a forest for the better part of three weeks without real food was beginning to wear down on the brunette’s sanity.

Calling for anyone that has been needing Sense8 threads in their lives!!!! Okay, this was destined to happen so here it is….. if anyone would like to join a Sense8 Group AU thing please message me or reply to this post or something, just please contact me. It would be the same idea under the Netflix series but obviously since we are in krp it would be a bit different but just the same concept of a cluster of eight “humans” that are connected to each other all from different backgrounds, stories, etc.

I am honestly not sure of anything or how this will work but like???? Please??? This is definitely such a viable group AU idea and obviously the important thing is that there are more than two people involved in this AU.
