RemotePC allows you to access and manage your distant computers anytime, from any device - given that the computer has an active Internet connection and the RemotePC application installed on it. You can login to your office or home computer from anywhere, manage your files and work on your computer - as though you were sitting right in front of it. You can also invite an associate to access your computer to work on a presentation or help troubleshoot.
Launch the RemotePC application and login. On the RemotePC home screen, click 'Configure Now!' Set 'Computer Name' and 'Personal Key' for your computer. Some things need to be kept in mind before connecting to a remote computer :
Both the local computer and the remote computer must be connected to the Internet for remote access.

Which version of Mac OS X is supported for the RemotePC application?

No, you cannot remotely access a Linux machine running on Wayland desktop session. On Wayland, currently only outgoing remote control is supported. If you need an incoming remote control, you have to sign in with classic Xorg.
Can I launch the RemotePC Linux application at the root level?
It is not recommended to launch the RemotePC application at root level. You can either use the application shortcut or launch the application at user level.
How can I avoid my remote Linux machine from going offline after reboot?
To avoid the remote Linux machine from going offline after a reboot, you need to ensure that the line 'WaylandEnable=false' is uncommented (initial '#' is removed) from any of the following files available on your remote Linux machines:
General: /etc/gdm/custom.conf OR /etc/gdm3/custom.conf
Specific to Debian OS: /etc/gdm/daemon.conf OR /etc/gdm3/daemon.conf
Once done, reboot your Linux machine to make the changes effective.
Note: The reboot functionality is supported only on RemotePC version 3.0.0 and above.

Yes, Mac OS Mojave requires user consent for applications to access privacy sensitive data. Hence you need to grant accessibility permissions to RemotePC, in order to remotely access your computers.

To restart a remote computer,
Launch the RemotePC application and log in.
Right-click the computer name and click 'Restart'.
Your computer will go offline briefly, but once the computer becomes ready for remote connection, its status will change to online. Refresh the computer list manually to see the change.
Note: For Windows machines, an additional option to 'Restart in safe mode' will also appear.

To get started, download the RemotePC application and install it on your computer.

Can I remotely access a Mac from a Windows or Linux computer?
Yes, you can access your Mac from a Windows or Linux computer and vice-versa. You can also access a remote computer from your iPhone/iPad or Android device.
The 'Connect to active session' feature is primarily for server machine access to connect to ongoing active sessions. It allows users who are connected to any server via Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) to instantly join an active session.
To connect to an active session,
Launch the RemotePC application and login.
Click .
Select the 'Connect to active session' checkbox.
If you uncheck the 'Connect to active session' option, users will have to login to the application and click 'Connect' against a particular Windows machines to initiate a remote session.
Note: This feature is only available for Windows.
What do the options under 'Always-ON Remote Access' tab signify?
'Always-ON Remote Access' tab displays the list of computers configured for remote access, and their current status. You can filter computers in the list based on their status.
All Computers - Displays the list of all the computers configured to your account. Online - Displays the list of computers that are ready for remote session. In Session - Displays the list of computers which are in an active remote session. Offline - Displays the list of computers that either do not have any active Internet connection or the remote access configuration has been disabled on it.
I forgot the Personal Key of my computer. How can I reset it?
To reset the Personal Key,
Launch the RemotePC desktop application on the computer you wish to reset the key.
Log in to your account.
Right-click the computer name, and click 'Change Personal Key'.
Enter the new Personal Key and confirm the same.
Click 'Change'.
Alternatively, you can also reset the Personal Key by disabling the Always-ON Remote Access for the computer, and then reconfiguring it again.To disable and reconfigure,
Click 'Disable Now' displayed against your computer name in the 'Always-ON Remote Access' section.
Click 'Yes' in the confirmation window.
Once 'Always-ON Remote Access' is disabled, click 'Configure Now!' on the home screen.
Enter the new Personal Key and confirm the same.

How do I disconnect a remote session on a Linux machine?
During a remote session, go to the application menu and click 'Connection'. Click 'End Session' to disconnect the session.

Yes, you can scale the remote computer's desktop screen to fit within your local computer window, as by default the RemotePC desktop screen does not auto fit to your local computer window.

On the application menu, click 'Switch Monitor' to switch between multiple monitors of the remote computer.
For Mac,
Launch the RemotePC application and log in.
Connect to an online remote computer, and establish connection.
Click on the top-right corner of the screen to switch between multiple monitors.
You can also view a single monitor of the remote computer. From the application menu, go to 'View' and click on the required monitor to view that individual monitor. You can also change the screen resolutions for individual monitors from here.
If you are remotely accessing a device with multiple monitors, RemotePC allows you to view multiple remote screens in a single screen at the same time, or view each monitor on a different screen.

You can save and view the same after the remote session ends, in an offline mode. To save a note on your local computer, click on the Sticky Note window, choose the destination folder, and click 'Save'.

We had trouble with 10.5.5 and so we've restored an image of a generic 10.5.4 mac that was named Mac99. In System Preferences/Sharing the Computer Name entries show up as 'Mac99 (2)', 'Mac99 (3)', 'Mac99 (4)', etc. I can use the 'Edit..' button to change their sharing names, but in the 'Computer Name' field, the name remains 'Mac99 (2)'. The field is grayed out and uneditable. These Macs are currently bound to both Open Directory and Active Directory. When I boot up, before I log on, I can see the computer name as Mac99 (2). How can I fix this? thanks.

You should also look out for a piece of parchment hidden in Filch's office, the marauders map. It will help you find the many secret tunnels in the castle.

This unbelievably giant map gives you the chance to visit the common rooms of all of the Hogwarts houses, Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw.
Out in the castle's grounds you can call in on Hagrid in his hut and take a stroll through the Forbidden Forest. You'll also find the huge quidditch pitch, the iconic rickety wooden bridge, the boat house where Snape met his untimely end, the owlery, Professor Sprout's green houses and the ancient whomping willow tree, complete with a secret tunnel hidden in its roots which takes you straight to the shrieking shack.
If you're feeling brave you can head to Moaning Myrtle's bathroom and open the Chamber of Secrets or tack down the Mirror of Erised where Harry first encountered Voldemort.
Away from the school grounds you can explore Hogsmeade including the station where the Hogwarts Express drops off students to the school and Honeydukes where a secret tunnel leads you back to Hogwarts. There's also an impressive recreation of Privet Drive where Harry spent his early years with Uncle Vernon and Aunt Petunia, and the snowy village of Godric's Hollow where Harry's parents were murder by he who shall not be named.
You can also explore some of the muggle world in this map, several real-world location that appear in the movie have been included in the map. Opposite Westminster and the tower of Big Ben on the River Thames, you'll find the iconic London Eye outside City Hall.
The muggle world also includes a very impressive block-built replica of King's Cross station where you can find the wall between platforms 9 and 10 which will allow you to pass through to the legendary platform 9¾ where you'll find the bright red Hogwarts Express ready to take you to the castle.
Further into the city of London, you'll find the discreet entrance to every wizard's favourite pub, The Leaky Cauldron. You can walk through the pub to the ordinary red brick wall behind the building and experience the magic as the wall opens up to reveal Diagon Alley.
You can browse many of the shops on Diagon Alley and if you're feeling brave you can turn off on to Knockturn Alley and visit the sinister Borgin and Burkes.
At the end of Diagon Alley is the huge Gringotts Wizarding Bank where you can descend into the cavernous vaults below on a subterranean roller coaster ride.
You can also take a trip to The Burrow, home of wizarding family the Weasleys and should you wish, you can even call in on the Malfoys in their dark manor house.
The builders of the map hope to expand it in the future to include more locations such as Azkaban Prison and more of the Ministry of Magic.

Diamond's package was the only one that offered higher quality capture options. Less compression means less pixelation and artifacts. There were lots of options to choose from in the supplied Empia software, and you can still use that in Mojave or earlier, but not in Catalina since it's 32 bit software.

They've replaced the Empia software with a 64 bit plugin that links to the QuickTime Player. It's the bottom link of the downloads page (the red button to the right of OS 10.15 64bit Driver).

It will see the capture device and give you an option of High or Maximum.
I would always use Maximum to get as clean a capture as possible from tape. You'll get a very large file, but you only need it for as long as it takes you to make a DVD. Anything you use video editing software for to get the captured video to a playable DVD is rendered as MPEG-2. That adds yet more compression. So the cleaner (less compressed) capture you can start with, the better the final DVD will look.
It's also half the price of the El Gato device. The only thing I need to mention is I haven't tested the new 64 bit capture yet to see how well it does.

The digital camera captures still microscopy images, streams live videos on your computers, and is compatible with Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux (see version information below). The user-friendly software for Windows offers advanced features including Stitching, EDF (Extended Depth of Focus), video recording, and measurement functions. Live video and still image capture can be set in different resolutions simultaneously. The 0.5X reduction lens allowas for a larger field of view. You can edit and process images in a manner similar to PhotoShop.

Oh-Lord! – Repair Assistant
If you have been using Izotope products lately, then you should be aware that Izotope has advanced its machine learning technology. Repair assistant represents the latest advances in Izotope’s assistive audio technology.
Rx7 Repair Assistant intelligently detects common audio problems in selection, for example, it can detect clicks, hum, noise clicking, and much more.
Having done that, it then provides three processing chains tailored to solving the problems detected during analysis. You also have an option to bypass suggestion such as clipping and other issues using the repair assistant preferences.
If no problems are detected, you will see “No Problems Detected” in the dialog, which is fine, if you feel you need a basic cleanup processing, you can use the one’s generated by Repair Assitant during the analysis pass.

Balance the Elements – Music Rebalance
Music Rebalance is my favorite tool in Rx7, it looks skeptical at first. I was amazed of how a tool could be so fantastic when I tried it out, just the perfect tool I have been looking for so many years.
The function of music rebalance is to identify and separate elements in a mix- Bass, Voice, and Percussion using a machine learning algorithm.
That is not all, any element that is not identified as Vocal, Bass, and Percussion would be categorized as other.
Cases Where Music Rebalance Can be Used
Music Rebalance can be useful for rebalancing the gain of a particular mix element when the stems aren’t available.
It can be used to isolate a single mix element by reducing the level of other elements, e.g in cases where you want to create a remix of a song, and you aren’t provided the stems, in the context of an acapella, you can use music rebalance to reduce the levels of other three elements (Bass, Percussing and others). If all you want is only the instrumental, then you reduce the gain of only the vocal element.
Does it Work In all Case
No!
Some audio files won’t work accordingly, audio tracks are made differently. I would say it works in 90% of the cases.

Sensitivity Control
Sensitivity can be useful in cases where you want a specific or more element to be narrowly defined. Each element has its own sensitivity knob, let say you want the vocal element to be barely heard, all you need to do is lower the value of the vocal sensitivity and vice versa.
Note: Sensitivity control work in relation to one another, setting all sensitivity controls to something like 6.0 has the same effect as setting all sensitivity controls to a value of 8.0, you get the idea 😉

Rx7 is specifically designed for post-production professionals, one of the ways it solves the demanding needs of post-production pro is remodeling the performance of a line with Dialogue Contour.
Dialogue Contour remodels/correct the intonation of performance, it can also be used for manipulating the pitch envelope of a dialogue selection.
Cases, where a dialogue contour can be useful, is when some words aren’t flowing or don’t fit with the rest of the dialogue in the clip.

Optimize the Reverb (Dialogue Reverb)
This is tailored to remove unwanted reverb from dialogue clips using advanced machine learning technology.
Dialogue reverb is pretty straight forward:
You use the learn button to teach the de-reverb tool how much reverb is in your signal
When the learn operation completes, the reverb profile and tail length control will be set to their suggested values. Feel free to tweak to your desired value.
This tool is designed specifically for post-production professionals and bundled with the Advanced edition.

Variable Time: Useful for correcting timing issues or to adjust the time stretch of a portion of an audio selection without altering its pitch.
Breath Control: Can be used to control the level of breath between words and phrases.
De-click: Clean up vinyl clicks, soften up clicky bass guitars, and more. The new low-latency algorithm enables you to use De-click right within your DAW or NLE without introducing sync issues.

Versions of Glitch VST plugin Similar to other VST, Glitch VST by Illformed keep updating and adding new features to it. From the initial release which was Glitch 1.3 to the new Glitch 2.1.0, there are a lot of changes in its features and GUI. I’ve had dBlue’s tapestop plugin for a while but have never been able to replicate the vinyl stop effect you hear in popular songs. The first example that comes to mind is Back by Lil Pump. When I use tapestop, it often starts to slow down at the wrong pitch or just sounds unnatural. Maybe I’m doing it wrong. How To Create a Tape Stop EffectAugust 01, 2012
So what is the tape stop effect? Well if you have been listening to modern music over the last couple years there is no doubt that you have heard it in a song or two. The effect is basically the slowing down (or pitching down) or stopping of a track or parts of a track. Sometimes this effect is only used on vocals for example and sometimes a tape stop effect can be heard on the whole track itself. In this tutorial we will take a closer look at how to achieve this effect for your next song.
IN THE BEGINNING
The tape stop effect as it is now called has been performed for a long time. It really got it's origins from old reel-to-reel machines and tape recorders that when powered down would continue to play the tape (at a continuously slower speed) until coming to a complete stop. The the tape stop effect is not really a new, but has however gain a lot of popularity in recent years in hip hop and dance music productions. The very first time I heard it was at rave party. The DJ played with the tempo and pitch of almost every song he played, going from fast dance tracks to pitching them down to a style much like DJ Screw. He used an old reel to reel and the brake button on his turntables throughout his set. His set was fantastic! I must admit I stole some things from him that night and started using them in my own DJ sets. The powering down or tape stop effect was pretty easy to perform on a good pair of turntables. I am not sure who started this effect, but chances are it was a DJ many years ago. This is also a great effect to transitions from one song to the next for you DJ's out there.
FAST FORWARD
Today the effect can used for many different reasons. To build excitement before a chorus or exciting part of the track or to add to a vocal for some type of special effect are just a few reasons. There are no rules for when you should or should not use the tape stop effect. If it sounds good in your track then use it. My only caution would be that just like other effects if you over use them in your song it might become a little annoying for the listener to say the least.
When it comes to the tape stop effect there will be some that say it has been over used and some that say that it hasn't. I don't really have an opinion on the subject either way. I will tell you that if you are a producer of hip hop, pop, electro, glitch, etc., at some point you will get a request for it. It has really become an effect that producers must know how to perform much like the Auto Tune effect a couple of years back.
Performing this effect in DAW's like Logic and Pro Tools make it really quite easy. Just a few clicks and you are well on your way. But what about if you are using something like FL Studio? Well with the help of some third party plugins it can be just as easy in FL too.
SO LET'S GET STARTED
There are a couple of different plugins that you can use to make this happen in FL Studio. I will list some of them at the end of this tutorial. But for this tutorial we will be using dBlue Tape Stop plugin. This is because it is really easy to use and because it is free!
This tutorial is not about installing plugins into FL so I will assume that you know how to do this already. If you do not then you may want to Google or use You Tube to find out how to do this. This tutorial will begin with the Tape Stop plugin already installed on your system.
After you have opened your track in FL Studio, select dBlue's Tape Stop from your list of plugins.
Next you want to take a look at the Tape Stop interface. There are only three knobs on this plugin (trigger,slowdown and declick).
The slowdown knob controls how fast the effect will slow down your track or sound. The trigger knob will control how much of the effect is happening. The 0.00 setting means the track will play normally and the 1.00 means the effect is working fully. These should be adjusted to meet the needs of the track and the amount of effect that you are going for.
Next you want to select the trigger knob and create an automation by right clicking your mouse. A dialog box will appear allowing you to create an automation for Tape Stop.
Now by going into song mode you can add your automation in the playlist section of FL Studio. By adding points in the automation timeline you can make this effect trigger when you want it to. In the example below the effect starts and then stops once the instrumentation comes in for effect.
This is a track that I just started working on for a local artist. It is not mixed or mastered or anything like that, but it will give you an idea of how you could use the tape effect in a song. Take a listen to the example and make note of where I put the tape stop effect found in the picture above. Again, there are no rules....so just have fun with it!
