Seeing other autistics be like

“I have autism and still have age appropriate interests and skill. That’s not autism that’s bad parenting”

is absolutely wild to me..

Like no that’s still autism.. it’s still a spectrum… having age inappropriate interests is an extremely common [higher needs] autistic trait… many of use like children things,, and use children items like toys plates etc…

And it always be the lsn autistic saying it… your experience is nothing like someone like me with higher needs. Yea YOU don’t do that one particular thing, doesn’t mean it’s not an autism trait.. it means you have one completely different experience than me.

And that autistic being behind has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with their parent. “Discipline��and forcing them into something that don’t like/ understand does nothing but traumatize the person- trust me I know from experience. The best parenting in the world wouldn’t change the fact that the autistic can’t, doesn’t and/or won’t engage in age appropriate interests. It’s something completely out of anyone’s control.. accept the fact and make their life safe and happy instead..
