A temporary interruption from our usual program.
I always wondered why Tenna and the meaning behind static pulled me in. It was hard for me to figure out at first but after realizing one of my own traumas behind one of my worst habits I recalled more things from my childhood that most likely led to me being the way I am. Tenna and static’s whole thing is that they don’t want to die out, they want to be wanted, and that they don’t want to be left behind or left alone. As a kid I was always a bit of a weirdo who would get bullied and teased by other kids for it. Yet I still considered those kids my friends. I loved people and I wanted to get along with them, help them, make friends, and to have a good time. But despite my outgoing personality no one really liked me. I only ever really had 2-3 friends who actually liked me at all times but that never stopped me from trying to make more. I’d befriend outcasts new kids and I wanted to make everyone feel included most likely because of how excluded I felt. I also was never good at anything and I was never special. I wasn’t funny, I wasn’t athletic, I wasn’t smart, I didn’t have any cool stories to tell, and I was a POC in a mostly white school. Every time I stood out it would usually be for all the wrong reasons. But that didn’t stop me from trying to get as much attention as I could. I’d do stunts, plan things, do silly stuff like sneeze funnily to make people happy to make them laugh to make them like me. My most longstanding stunt was making a YouTube channel hoping my content would help me make friends and make people want to be friends with me and help me meet people who actually liked the things I liked. YouTube spread to more social media and throughout it all I never really gained any substantial notoriety. Part of me still thinks if I’m successful enough then maybe people will look past my weirdness and will actually be my friend.
To quote static “after all, I want to be wanted. Is that so wrong?”
And to quote tenna “I don’t wanna be thrown away”
I was really stupid as a kid…KILL!!!!

TENNA IS OLDER!!!!!
I’ve made a severe mistake by trying to die on a stupid hill.
At first I was dead set on believing Tenna was A 80s-90s TV but that dead set ness lead to me disregarding the existence of this design, dialogue about the black and white era and the fact that Tenna well seems old as shit.
(I could not find the green room dialogue)
Plus Tenna has no idea how to use technology.

(I can’t find him talking about not knowing how to use email but it exsists)
But I think I finally figured it out. 1960s to 1980s was a transition era from black and white to colored television. 1960s being where it started and 1980s being where the transition to color started to become complete.

Most 1960s TVs are also able to connect to VCR and by extension play VHS tapes. Though these VHS didn’t come around until 1976(Japan) and 1977(America). blah blah blah my point is I believe tenna is a 1960s tv now
I apologize for being so stale and stubborn like an old ritz cracker…

WHO CAME FIRST TENNA OR SPAMTON????
Asking who is older between spamton and tenna is like asking what came first the chicken or the egg? Tenna is a VCR CRT I know this because of these two lines from him.

Because of this he is most likely from the mid to late 80s. Supposedly he’s spent his whole life at the dremurr household and was most likely there before Kris was a kid too.

no other equipment implies it’s built in AND the antennas look like they are attached on and not built in

But I believe spamton is from 1978 because it lines up with both the release of billy Joel big shot and the first sent spam email.

Okay so this means that Tenna would be younger than Spamton. But it’s heavily implied Tenna mentored Spamton.

Plus Tenna doesn’t know how to use technology yet Spamton does.

So Tenna Must be older than Spamton…right?
WRONG.
Spamton is a spam email and is most likely able to move from computer to computer because of this. He’s apart of the internet while Tenna is just cable tv. Spamton knows about new tech because of this mobility while Tenna just stays still in the living room. These two are close enough In age that it enabled them to learn things from each other. Spamton learned showmanship from Tenna and Tenna learned what’s hip with the kids within the 90s. It’s also implied heavily that Tenna wanted Spamton to introduce him to whoever was on the phone in order to become big too and after Spamton did that Tenna was probably gonna make him a co-host. Spamton already had commercials airing so him becoming co host was probably what he meant by “I was gonna put him on tv”

But this begs a new question. When was the laptop. Brought into the house? It would had to have been brought in during the late to mid 90s and brought in by someone who is close to the dreamurrs. At first I thought it was December but I’m pretty sure they are closer to Kris’s age. I have no ideas on who owns the laptop.

edit:
I almost forgot Tenna also is insecure about the fact that he copied spamton and does not like being compared to him

TENNA SUIT THEORY!!! ??!??

Tenna suit.
1: Tenna got the suit after Spamton left as an attempt to become a big shot thinking maybe the suit was they key to it.
2: Tenna was told he needed a better flashier suit to be a big shot and so Tenna got a flashier suit and it resembled Spamton’s suit
edit: Okay for those who say spamton stole it from Tenna, there’s a few Tenna dialogue lines where Tenna keeps saying he’s better and not a copy. example

He 100% wanted whatever spamton had he actively copies other parts of spamton so why not his suit too?

I have more stuff on tenna. His entire recalling of spamton. I personally don’t ship big shot spamton and tenna but they kinda are giving toxic old man Yaoi where both sides are using each other.

STATIC X TENNA

Static is a song by flavor foley about nostalgia, fear of change and abandonment, attachment to attention, and not wanting people to leave you. With the visual theme being TV based and reminiscent of 90s-2000s tv cartoons and aesthetics.
tenna is a stupid fucking tv head man who is lonely, has a fear of abandonment, a fear of change, a desire for attention and is based off of cartoony aesthetics, game shows, and 90s-2000s television.
very tempted to make static x Tenna animated music video.
If you listen to the song you will see the relation to tenna I did a kinda shit explanation

Tennas tv model part 2.5
He has vhs known by his literal introductory words of “Mike play the VHS”

VHS TVs were released in 1976 to Japan and 1977 to America. VHS tvs dominated 1980s to 1990s.
tenna is a game show host too and guess what started in 1976? Family feud. This is un important because I actually don’t think tenna came out in 1976.
bonus note: deltarune takes place in 202X and Kris is a teenager. My best guess is that they are 15 which means they’d be born around 2005-2009.
for Kris to be a kid when Tenna was newish Tenna would be a tv from the 90s—2000s.
Spamton peaked in 1997 and we don’t really know how long he was a big shot for. If peak year was 1997 there was probably a year or two before that where he was becoming a big shot. After 1997 his reign of big shot-ness could’ve gone into the early 2000s or maybe it ended when it hit the 2000s. After the disappearance of a big shot it seems tenna was doing fine maybe even finding his own peak. But after people stopped watching tv that’s when the decline started. This decline probably started in the 2010s.
if I find more stuff I’ll make another post

Tennas Tv model part 2
Here is a photo of tenna in the dark world and light world

He’s thick so Toby Fox should’ve given him a really fat ass In the dark world.
something I never considered is that technology could just be different. The progress of technology could have been much slower compared to the progress of technology we have.
If we consider what Noelle has a flat screen that seems like it couldn’t be any newer than from the 2000s yet it’s considered state of the art

And berdly keeps telling her to get a CRT maybe implying they are still in production or are good quality and worth having. This is weird considering it’s supposed to be a state of the art tv.
Deltarunes current eras of tv is reminiscent of the 90s-2000s than modern day despite taking place in 202X. This means in the actual 90s-2000s tvs were most likely in an even older era that might’ve been multiple old eras combined into one.

I HATE YOU TOBY FOX!!! ILL NEVER FORGIVE YO ASS FOR WHAT YOUVE DONE!!! But I greatly appreciate your help in this random reblogger!
Tenna’s Tv Model

He’s old but i think he’s younger than spamton. I’m looking into what model of tv he is judging by his memories and looks but from what I can tell he’s an oddity because he has the antennas AND no side dials which is weird but it might just be harmless detail to make him look cool since him without the antennas looks weird
Oh my fucking god the first flat screen hit the market in 1997…
anyway I believe tenna is a late 80s to early 90s tv but he could be from the 2000s judging by the fact that some of his older memories had it where Kris was a kid during the holidays. But maybe those are his fondest memories not his oldest and maybe that’s when the most people were watching him but now this all kinda brings up a new question. When did spamton stop being a bigshot? And when did spamton abandon tenna?
I also do believe spamton is the same age as the first spam email (may 3 1978) but did you know Billy Joel’s big shot released that same year? (1978) I don’t think that’s a coincidence further confirming that’s maybe Spamton’s birth date.
