Locked-Inside is a Naga argonian who eschews his kind's usually destructive lifestyle and seeks to help Tamriel's inhabitants with his deductive skills, rooting out evil and wrongdoing wherever he finds it in the name of JUSTICE. He's really quite serious about it. Current ongoing plot: none (( TES RP blog run by tumblr user owlsharks. skype: vicious.honeyfish. Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. Markarth's a nice city to look at, if you can ignore the stink of the mine and the metal smelters. That's not so easy for me. That's the thing about being an apex predator, you can't turn off your senses. I can sleep but it still gets in through the hinges and the cracks in the stone. If this place wasn't hewn from the living rock of the mountains I'd be long gone.
As our Giant friend has been recovering, I've been looking into places that might be worth scouting out. One of the overseers, Nepos, has been popular lately among the miners. What some old guy is doing bossing around the workers, I don't know. You'd think they'd leave that sort of thing to someone with a little more width and breadth. He's obviously got something going for him, and I think I might be interested in finding out what that is. He's gotta sleep sometime too. I'll let him, for now.

Would it kill people to ask before touching me?

//well doesn't this guy just give him a slimy feeling all over. Lock leers down, his scales creaking as he flares his hood.
And I thought this was supposed to be such a nice town.

Don't get yourself set on fire.
//his tone is flat. Now he's burningly curious to know what news Renatus bears, but given that the mer seems more sad than anxious, it's likely not news of any hasty pursuit. He's already been given his mission as it is. He can't let himself get distracted.
And if you're headed to Solitude, travel quickly or don't travel alone. Everyone keeps telling me the roads are dangerous.
[he doesn’t flinch away, only keeps on watching in more evident interest, apparently as blithely curious as his son and taking these unfamiliar machinations in stride]
You’re right, of course. I suppose I ought to worry more over her hearing of it from somebody else first. I don’t think she will take it well and it would be better heard from someone who is used to—[he grimaces a little, regretful, maybe]—dealing with the more hasty of her reactions.

I've got plenty of time, and finding people is what I do, anyway. Delaying news never makes it any harder to take when it finally gets there.
//another tongue flick, closer to Renatus this time as he means to subtly pick up where the mer may have come from. Likely whatever it is will have been purged by close quarters aboard the ship, but he can try.
[He watches the flickering tongue with absent interest, unfamiliar with such an action] I shouldn’t like to take up your time, but I would be grateful to you if you did keep a watch for her. I wouldn’t really…worry too much about hurrying with it. The news I came to deliver isn’t the sort one wishes to hear.

Last I heard she was indeed staying in the capital, but that was a while ago. I could track her down if you wanted me to. Might even be a challenge.
//he flicks his tongue at the air as if he's already trying to pick up her charred scent.
[He blinks, unused to hearing his wife referred to as a “mrs.” anyone, vaguely amused by it] I don’t suppose you’ve any idea where she is? Last I heard from her she had made port here, but I fear she’s not exactly predictable and I haven’t heard since.

Not at all.
//apologizing for someone else's behavior. Lock doesn't fault the man for it, considering what he's been responsible for.
Common interests, it turns out. Haven't seen him in a while, so I couldn't tell him you were here even if I wanted to. Anyway, thought I'd offer my services, you being new in town. Mrs. Apsinthos has been helpful in the past too, and these things carry over.
It’s nothing underhanded, just unexpected. I don’t think he’d really appreciate to know I’m here in the first place, you know. That sort of thing. I hope he…wasn’t too awfully rude to you. [it’s a sort of reflexive statement, like he’s used to having to apologize for his son’s conduct]

No? If it'll be a problem, we don't have to have any contact at all. I know how these things tend to be. People seeing people they ought not to. Other people get the wrong idea.
locked—inside replied to your post: Well.
Unless I’m eh… mistaken, you’re Ioannes’ father, yes? The resemblance is uncanny. If not, I sincerely apologize.
Oh. Yes, I’m sorry. [His attitude seems to suggest that he’s sorry for most things, not just for that] I hadn’t really anticipated crossing paths with anyone who would have, ah, had enough contact with him to really make the connection.

*She pouts a bit more, her ears lowering and looking a bit dejected.* Oh, right… I’m sorry, I won’t do it again. It wasn’t very funny anyways.
Glad to hear it. I'm not mad, it's just not a good idea to run around kissing everybody on a whim. Especially me.

WHAT WAS THAT ABOUT KISSIN
Apparently she got "told" to do it!
Besides I didn't want to push her away and hurt her by accident.

moon-and-star replied to your post: Oooooi, Lock! Someone told me to kiss you! *She snatches him by the wrist, drags him towards the nearest crate or barrel tall enough to make up for their height difference, clambers onto it then pulls him in and kisses him firmly on the muzzle, clearly amused.*
*She pouted slightly, folding her arms.* But why not? It was harmless, wasn’t it?
There are ah... certain individuals who wouldn't take you kissing me very well.

I- what?
//he snorts as she kisses his nose, shaking his head out of her grip.
You don't have to do everything people tell you to!
