The Senate has passed a bill that would remove restrictions on Internet Service Providers allowing them to more easily collect and sell personal user information. If passed this will add to the continuing loss of privacy and commercialization of personal data. We at Lockin find this unacceptable and offer you several ways to combat this. We'd like to share what we have been working on for the past few months. In collaboration with Peerlyst and Bits&Digits we have created a collection of personal data that has been leaked across the internet. These records contain a wide array of information of over three hundred unique fields like names, phone numbers, to mortgage data. We are providing the public access to check if they have had their information leaked along with steps to regain their privacy. #NoSecrets aims to help users start to understand how personal data has become a commodity and that such behavior from businesses and malicious entities needs to stop.
