The aerieREAL campaign was a turning point in history for the body positive movement. As a popular and well-loved fashion brand, aerie vowing to no longer retouch their models while their biggest competitor Victoria’s Secret was still forcing an unattainable image onto their consumers. I loved the branding of this campaign and how aerie dove into it headfirst. They didn’t hold back or make false promises and they’ve kept up with the campaign for years now. To aerie this wasn’t just a campaign to make quick money, it was a rebrand and a message for women everywhere that “the real you is sexy”.
