hi all! another ooc mobile message im sorry. i’m in my usual post-holidays slump and i’m feeling like i’m surrounded by negativity rn? hey psa but when people post headcanons, or metas, or even random little posts with a fun fact about their muse, like the post. if you don’t want to clutter your likes, comment with a ( ❤️️ ) emoji. interact with the people you follow. everyone has posted something about their muse before that they were excited about that no one acknowledged, and everyone knows how disheartening it is. it doesn’t take long or cost you anything, and it could literally make someone’s day. i think we as a community need to try harder to appreciate and encourage everyone’s effort in developing their characters, especially if they’re your mutuals. if you follow someone, show them why.

silence  can  be  deafening.  it  isn’t  news  to  the  archer,  but  instead  a  stark  reminder.  ones  heartbeat  can  be  so  loud  when  all  external  noise  has  faded.  it’s  as  if  all  the  air  has  left  the  atmosphere,  leaving  a  stillness  he’s  never  quite  experienced  before.  this  isn’t  the  heartbeat-in-your-ears  of  a  well-planned  heist  ;  the  four-in-the-morning  stillness  of  a  world  still  asleep.  THIS  IS  ---  DIFFERENT.  river  blinks.  everything  seems  to  hover  just  above  his  skin,  the  electricity  within  his  veins  making  his  arm  hair  stand  up  on  end.  river  blinks.  the  world  seems  heavier  somehow,  more  imbued  with  meaning  than  before.  river  blinks.  there’s  an  odd  constricting  of  his  chest,  something  squeezing,  squeezing,  squeezing  -----  he  lets  out  a  breath.  the  ringing  in  his  ears  is  loud,  (  WHAT  SILENCE  ?  IT’S  NEVER  BEEN  SILENT  ),  a  constant  thrum.  findlaich  -  oh,  fuck.

river  can’t  entirely  tell  if  the  world  makes  more  sense  or  less  sense  now.  PERHAPS  IT  MAKES  JUST  A  MODICUM  OF  SENSE  (  FOR  ONCE  ).  or  perhaps  not  --  dimly,  he  realises,  he  has  questions.  many  questions.  he’s  always  considered  himself  observant,  occasionally  to  a  fault,  but  this  .  .  .  (  is  it  some  trick  ?  no,  neither  of  them  are  built  that  way  )  this  somehow  missed  him  entirely.  would  he  have  ever  seen  the  signs  ?  he’s  not  sure.  for  his  own  purposes,  he’d  dropped  hints  of  his  own  ------  but  he’d  never  entirely  been  sure  if  he’d  been  serious  or  not.  IT  HAD  JUST  BEEN  SIMPLE,  EASY.  particularly  when  finn  was  being  halfway  decent  -  though  that  never  seemed  to  last  long.  oh,  river  has  a  lot  of  questions.  some  chastising,  too,  it  seems.  brow  furrows  a  little.  river  blinks.  the  atmosphere  whooshes  back  into  existence,  the  tightness  in  his  chest  loosening,  the  ringing  in  his  ears  quieting.  electricity  still  crackles  in  his  veins  &  on  his  lips,  but  he  can  feel  things  again.  the  universe  no  longer  feels  like  it’s  sitting  three  molecules  off  his  skin.  as  it  to  test  it,  river  reaches  out,  grabbing  at  the  breast  of  finn’s  jacket.  fingers  scrabble  for  hold  against  the  leather,  but  he  manages.  ❛     s’a  pretty  shit  apology,  if  you  ask  me,     ❜  he  breathes  out,  a  throaty  laugh  bubbling  up  inside.  ❛     ---    you  can  do  better.     ❜
