hermione should have known from how she was treated when she returned to riverdale based on hiram’s actions how her own daughter would be treated in light of her own.  a sigh escapes her lips as she reads over the paper on her table that had been spread across riverdale high,  before her eyes focus on her daughter.   ❝  ronnie,  i knew there would be complications in this election,  i just hadn’t realized how you would be affected again.  ❞   she wouldn’t sacrifice her candidacy because of how those in riverdale perceived her daughter to be,  but she could see that there were changes that needed to be made if they wanted to survive.   ❝  you no longer need to assist me with my campaign,  i will still require that you be at my side at every event.  ❞   it was for appearances,  but her daughter had been through enough in the past year  -  she didn’t need to add anymore pressure to it than she already had.

          did it hurt  that ethel was trying to ruin her life ?  of course it did.  but she was a lodge, and they do not back down at the first hit.  it may be damaging to be losing a friend, but veronica believed in what they were trying to do here in riverdale.  or at least...  she  thought  that she did.  she believed in her parents, and she was sure they were trying to do the right thing.  ❛ i still want to help.  i still will help despite what people are saying.  if ethel wants to spend her time trying to tear me down, so be it.  it wouldn’t be the first time people have tried to destroy the lodge name, and it won’t be the last.  if i want to help you and daddy ?  i’ll just have to get used to it. ❜

Because I will.“ And he looks at the line of guys who had just left Ronnie’s booth, of cupcakes and kisses, a small hint of jealousy spread over the ginger, obviously trying to lighten up the mood after Ethel. “Do I get a cupcake if I vote for you too?“ Archie’s corner of his lips turn into a smile as he looks down at Ronnie, hands stuck into his pockets.

          ❛ oh archiekins,  you worry far too much.  you know the only lips destined for mine belong to you. ❜  he truly has nothing to fear.  she wants him and only him.  this is just an attempt to get her name out there and win votes.  essentially she was buying them, but she wanted to do good at this school and prove the lodges were not as terrible as they may seem.

* BETTY C.    ---    JRNALST  !

Her eyes can’t meet the raven in front of her, can’t stand the idea of looking at her after what she had done. She was supposed to go in there to stop anyone from kissing Archie yet she did it herself. Betrayal. “You’re right, it was stupid.” She agrees, expressing her feelings. “How do you figure you’re going to make this up to me, Veronica?” No V, no Ronnie. Truthfully it would be easy just to play along, to make up and wait until Veronica got bored of Betty. However, this crossed a line. And what worried her more was how Archie looked at her after the closet, it wasn’t a look Betty had ever been on the receiving end of.

          she never claimed to be perfect.  she was so far from it actually.  but her willingness to try and better herself should be proof enough that she wasn’t so terrible, right ?  ❛ i don’t want to fight with you, betty.  it really didn’t mean anything, and i’m sorry for it.  but...  you shouldn’t take this out on me completely.  yes, i royally screwed up, but it isn’t my fault that archie doesn’t feel that way about you.  i shouldn’t have kissed him, but it’s not my fault that he doesn’t want to be with you. ❜

          ❛ how many times  are you two going to break up and get back together, b ?  i mean don’t get me wrong, i adore you two as a pairing but there has to be a line eventually.  jug is hurting you with all of this, you have to make a choice sooner or later.  i just don’t want my best gal pal being in pain. ❜  suffering a broken heart was one of the worst possible experiences, and betty had seemingly gone through about twelve in the past week alone.

          ❛ i feel so bad  for what i did betty.  please, can you let me make it up to you in any way possible ?  it was stupid and a slip up back to how i used to be, but i  don’t  want to be that girl anymore. ❜  the closet had been a royal screw up on veronica’s part, and she felt terrible for doing what she had.  she was supposed to help with the whole endgame situation as kev had described it, yet she went and crossed the line.  she just didn’t want to lose her potential new best friend.
