I know we already got like four romance routes in the recent update but let me be delusional for a second. I still really like whatever Melinoe and Arachne have going on and, if anything, I think its even more compelling to me at this point in the story:

-Arachne's warnings about the gods early on in the game feel increasingly relevant as Melinoe starts learning more about them. Her bitterness toward the gods is echoed by characters like Heracles and Prometheus but I always liked that she was the first character to really confront Melinoe about it.

- In that vein, Arachne’s story quest involves Melinoe questioning the severity of Athena’s punishment and the involvement of her Headmistress. She isn’t challenging their authority just yet but she’s starting to be more critical of them and the gods treatment of mortals in general (especially paired with Dora’s recent storyline).

- I also just think they have some really interesting parallels. There’s been this emphasis on the increasing scale of Melonie’s enemies: She faces one Titan, then two, then Typhon who is so big that she seems like an insect compared to his size. They both challenge these unfathomably powerful forces and rely on their craft to do so. They’re both called overly-prideful by other characters. At one point Melinoe says she would have done the same thing in Arachne’s position. Theres a certain tragedy to both of their stories but they also acknowledge that it’s those circumstances that allowed them to get to know each other.

- I like Melinoe’s homoerotic rivalries as much as the next lesbian but I think it would be neat if one of her gay options was more overtly affectionate. For variety. Every time Melinoe puts on a new dress and Arachne says “like a warm embrace” I go just a little more insane.

so like...was the whole "emotional support raccoon" think a joke? or??? Becaue I am still quite confused about that.

The "emotional support raccoon" was/is not a joke. My raccoon Moonshine is actually my ESA.

But I want to be very clear about this: This is a spiders georg situation.

My situation is an outlier and should not be considered when thinking "hmm, is an emotional support raccoon a good idea?" Because it is not.

Anyway, Moonshine specifically helps me with my ARFID and supports me with eating fruits and veggies so I don't get so malnourished I end up in the hospital. She offers 0 kind of support for anxiety or depression. The ONLY reason why she works for me is because I am an actual professional and already had worked with procyonids and small primates before I got (rescued) her and I knew what to expect.

Moonshine was only legally allowed to live in my apartment because I could prove beyond reasonable doubt that she provided support for my disability in a way that no other species of animal could do, exclusively used the litterbox, and would not destroy anything or cause disruption to the neighbors.

I don't live in an apartment any more so this doesn't matter, but the chances of someone having the skills to train an animal like that, the knowledge to properly care for one, and the genuine, proved need for one as an emotional support animal is like...0. It is a bad idea.

Anyway, not having Moonshine was actually how I got scurvy recently. But I FINALLY got the two raccoon boys out of my house, am working on getting the raccoon room rewired, am gonna clean and throw up new paneling, and then she will get to go back in.
