Summary: Your little baby girl has started to run a fever, & only Simon can give her the comfort she needs

A/N: So a lil fun fact about me I’m actually a Mrs. Riley (no I’m not kidding) & those photos made by the incredibly talented @ave661 have made my baby fever kick in so badly especially when hearing people use “Baby Riley” & seeing all the men my husband is serving with currently put their little ones in the cutest baby gear isn’t helping it 😭

Two days. You hadn’t gotten a full nights sleep in two days. Your breasts ached from not being pumped consistently & your little one wouldn’t latch due to the croop cough that been making her feel miserable. You had contacted the pediatrician to see what you could do to help your wailing baby. Since the croop was common in babies all you could do was give her medicine & try to soothe her. Her cries were starting to make you emotional. You felt her whole body tense as she coughed. Tears started to fall as her cries echoed off of the walls of the nursery. Today Simon was coming home from a training exercise, & thankfully he was the one thing that without fail could soothe her.

You had just given her some medicine & the taste really upset her.

“I know my sweet girl,” You told her. “Let me turn on the nebulizer.” You flipped on the little machine that was shaped like a giraffe, a baby gift you were now thankful for. A steady stream of steam came out & you sat down in the rocking chair facing her towards the steam. Through her crying you hear the cough starting to break up. The sound of the door opening made you sit up more & you hear him taking off his combat boots.

“Love?” He said as he walked up the stairs.

“I’m in the babies room.” You replied. He walked in still in his combat pants, & uniform t-shirt. “She won’t stop crying baby, I don’t want to do.”

“Give her to me love, I’m in need of some daddy daughter bonding time.” He said. Your daughter immediately stopped wailing & cooing in the arms of her father. Her little arms reaching for his face. “You missed your daddy didn’t you?” He asked her. Her little hand wrapping around his index finger. “Come on love let’s let your mummy rest & let’s take a bath.”

“Thank you,” You mouthed to him & turned off the humidifier. You gave him a kiss & then walked into your shared bedroom. Your body felt instant relief as soon as you laid down. Slumber consumed you very quickly & you fell into a deep sleep.

Simon had taken your baby girl into the bathroom, & started a warm bath for her. She let out a wicked wet cough, & her whole body shook with each one she let out. He placed her in the bath & by the look in her eyes Simon could tell it was providing comfort for her. The steam from the water lingering in the air mixed with washing away the thin layer of sweat that came from the fever soothed her.

“I bet that probably feels better my love.” He said as he started to wash her sandy blonde locks. Her eyes rolled to back of her head as he massaged the baby shampoo into her scalp. He took the empty cup beside him & filled it with the water from the tub to rinse out the shampoo. Her eyes started to close & her mouth was slightly open admitting little snores. Simon smiled at his daughter, she was the most precious thing in his life (other then you of course.) He was first initially apprehensive about being a father, but after she was born he couldn’t imagine not being one. She was fully passed out in the baby bath tub by the time he went to drain the water.

He wrapped her small little body in a warm towel & brought her into the nursery. Gently he laid her down on the changing table & started to apply some lotion to her body. His large hands massage it into her skin making her smile in her sleep from the relaxing sensation. He gently tugged on her chubby legs stretching her. Simon read it once in a baby book that it was good to stretch your baby out to help with their flexibility & he’s done it every night he’s home. Usually she’s wiggly & he has to hand her the lotion bottle to stay preoccupied but she was tuckered out.

He applied some baby powder to & put a nice clean fresh diaper on her. She was started to breath heavier from the cough. Her little body started to stir & he turned on the humidifier for her. He pressed her small frame into his chest. Her little face was smushed up against his chest. A little bit of drool started to pool onto his chest. He sat down in the steam with her & her little body wasn’t trying as hard to breath. His large hand that held her to his chest started to rub small circles on her little back. Once she was fully relaxed again he placed her in the crib. He reached into the crib & placed her favorite pacifier in her mouth. She immediately took to it & he ran a finger over her flushed cheeks.

“Sleep tight my sweet girl.” He quietly said & turned on her night light. After he took a shower himself washing away all the grime & sweat from the strenuous training exercise he endured he crawled into bed with you. You felt his body eclipse you as he laid down. Slowly you turned to face him eyes still heavy. He pressed a gentle kiss to your forehead. “Go back to sleep my love she’s all settled.” He softly whispered. You laid your head down on your pillow, & he did the same letting sleep consume the both of you.

—Simon ‘Ghost’ Riley Headcannons: Part 19—

Boyfriend (After Toxic Ex) Edition:

Let’s say you and Ghost were friends while you had a toxic boyfriend. Obviously he wouldn’t know the details because you’d be smarter than telling him. The dudes a war criminal and doesn’t take abuse to his loved ones too lightly. If you had any bruises, you’d hide them from him. It wouldn’t be until you finally had enough that you’d confide in Ghost and ask for advice, which would be when he’d tell you pretty simply that you need to leave the relationship or he’ll end it for you. If he knew the physical abuse was there then he’d take a joy ride to have a ‘talk’ with him after you ranted about everything you can’t take anymore.

After that’s said and done, a little while down the road after your vulnerability is gone then you’d get a bit wiser and realize how Ghost is pretty much the perfect guy, even with his flaws. How he always protects you, is always there for you, understands you, doesn’t judge you or make you self conscious like your ex would. You’d realize you feel safest when you’re with Ghost and you know without a doubt that he’d have your back to whatever end.

When it got to the point where you and Ghost end up together, he’d be taking it very slow. He wouldn’t rush into anything intimate, he wouldn’t even hint that he wanted it even if he was incredibly horny one night. He’d practically worship you to show you what it’s like to be treated right. He would be terrified of messing up and wouldn’t want to hurt you by any means.

He would take you out, cook for you, cuddle with you, hold you on his lap while he did paperwork and dote on you hand and foot. He’d be the complete opposite of what most people see him to be. The best part would be you know he’s only that way with you. It would give you butterflies every time you notice his cold attitude with everyone else, which is normal, but five seconds later he’d pick you up and kiss you through his mask while whispering ‘that’s my girl’ in your ear.

He would allow you to talk about your ex as well. He wouldn’t be the type to get annoyed because chances are they’d be more like rants anyway. If you talked about missing him or something that would be different of course but talking about how bad about yourself he made you feel, how much different Ghost is than him, those sorts of things he would have no issue with. If you needed reassurance, he’d give it to you. Any insecurity your ex left you with, Ghost would actually want you to tell him so he’d know exactly what to spend a little more time on telling you everything he loved about it.

The communication, on your side at least would be amazing. He wouldn’t talk too much about himself, little things here and there would be a rarity but he wouldn’t be overly closed off either. Certain things he’d talk about, other things would take more time or he just wouldn’t mention it. With you, though, you would feel comfortable enough to be an open book with him. He’d never make you feel judged by any means.

When it came time for you being ready to be intimate with him, the first time would be slow, passionate, and make you feel like you were a virgin again if you weren’t before. If you were, then you’d be instantly addicted and wouldn’t want it to end. He’d compliment every inch of you, kiss you all over, not leave one part of you untouched or unloved. Anything you were insecure about, he’d praise and spend a little more time on. His pants wouldn’t come off until you already came twice and he made sure you were in fact ready. Chances are he’d make you beg a bit before finally taking them off.

He’d do consent checks, especially your first time with him. He’d maybe degrade you a little bit your first few times but not much and the praise would definitely overrule it. It wouldn’t be till later on when you were much more comfortable that he’d pull out the heavier degrading and getting rougher and things like that.

He would be well aware that he could crush your skull with his bare hands. He knows his size and strength so he wouldn’t accidentally scare or hurt you. He has immense self control as well. He’d remind you constantly that if you want him to stop for any reason, even it’s just so you can get a drink of water, you can tell him and he won’t get upset. He’d even tell you he’d only get upset if you didn’t ask him to stop when you wanted him to.

He would also be the type to make little jokes here and there which would make you more comfortable and it would be more enjoyable. It wouldn’t be all that serious. Just pure love and intimacy with each other. Of course you two wouldn’t just be dating, you’d also have a deep friendship which wouldn’t be overlooked or forgotten.

Aftercare would be like nothing you experienced before. He’d have no problem carrying you to the shower to wash you up, then he’d change the sheets and you’d end up in one of his shirts to sleep in. He’d get you some water, make you any food you felt like eating, then end up holding you in his arms all night. He’d praise you even more, tell you how perfect you did, and how much he cares about you. The L word wouldn’t be said for a long time but he’d hint at it. Saying things like ‘you mean the world to me’, ‘I trust you’, ‘you fit so perfect in my lap’ or ‘you’re the biggest annoyance in my life’. Chances are the last one would be said the most but you know damn well he wouldn’t keep you around unless he absolutely adored you.

The morning after, he’d check in again. Ask you if you were sore, remind you how good you did, ask if there was any regrets. He’d hold you a bit longer in the morning before getting up so you guys could eat breakfast. He’d definitely give you back hugs and neck kisses throughout the day after, ensuring you weren’t at all self conscious after the previous night. He’d call you beautiful or darling more than you could count. Honestly you probably wouldn’t have even known he was capable of being such a sweetheart but he’d go out of his way to make you feel like you’re the only woman on earth.

—Simon ‘Ghost’ Riley Headcannons: Part 3—

1. Sleeping

- Most people tend to think he’s a heavy sleeper but I disagree. I strongly believe he’d wake up at the drop of a pen. He’s been tortured, betrayed, raped, and had a hard childhood so I doubt he’d be able to get into a heavy sleep. His brain would constantly be on guard and people with difficult upbringings tend to be hardwired to protect themselves most when they’re asleep because that’s when they’re vulnerable. Chances are he’d sleep with a gun under his pillow or in his bedside drawer. Not that he couldn’t defend himself without it of course but it would definitely bring him a bit more security. He’d probably even lock his bedroom door out of habit from childhood. It could even be an OCD thing where he’s gotta make sure the door is locked, checking it several times before he finally lays down.

2. Starving Himself

- Let’s be fair. The dude is around 220-240 pounds and is a unit of a man. With as much energy as he expels and how much he moves, he would be about 180 if he did starve himself. He’s bulky so he works out several times a week with heavy weights. You can’t be starving and manage to do that. He’s a healthy guy and he’d get dizzy very quickly if he went two to five days at a time with little to no food. Chances are he will fast once in a while to keep his body trained in case he ends up held hostage and food isn’t available. Marines will do that so their body won’t go into shock but an eating disorder with him doesn’t seem realistic. I see a lot of people claiming he would hate food and not be able to eat but in order to gain muscle, you kind of need food with high protein and calories. Muscle will go down rather quickly if you don’t keep it trained so he has to constantly be eating a certain way and working out a certain way in order to maintain his build.

3. Sweet Tooth

- I don’t know why but I feel like he’d have an unhealthy love of chocolate. Like he’d get trail mix and pick out the m&m’s first before eating the rest. It just makes sense for some reason. The cake on Matilda would be a dream come true for him

4. Cooking

- Another thing I disagree with is people that say he can’t cook. Hear me out. Ghost was a mommas boy for sure. His mom was all he really had growing up, even his brother would torture him when he was younger. It would make sense he’d spend most of his time with her and that would also be in the kitchen. His dad was a dick so chances are Ghost would help his mom out with the house to make it easier on her. He’d probably cook with her and for her, especially if she was sick or not feeling good. He may not cook often now that he’s older and has no reason to but if he felt like it, he probably could cook up something pretty good. If he were doing it for someone specific then it would probably bring back bitter sweet memories of him in the kitchen with his mom as well.

5. Yelling

- I don’t see him as a yeller to be honest. He gives off the quiet anger type of energy. Another thing that goes back to his childhood, he’d have learned quickly to shut down rather than retaliate in a yelling match as a safety precaution. He’s only really seen raising his voice when it’s needed. When there are scenes of him getting a bit upset, he seems to go silent. Plus he’s a quiet guy as it is. When Graves betrayed him in MW2, you could easily tell he was pissed but he didn’t start screaming like Alejandro and didn’t get vocal like Soap. He’ll get authoritative for sure but if someone were to decide to get on his last nerve, chances are he’d disassociate and get lost in his own mind. There may be moments where he does snap and yell because he’s human but as a general rule, the quiet rage just seems more like him.

—Simon ‘Ghost’ Riley Headcannons: Part 2—

1. Interrogations

- Alrighty let’s get into it. Is he heartless and ruthless when he’s trying to get information? He easily could be. However, he won’t jump right in and take limbs off in the first five minutes. I can see his strategy being this. First, he’d try the verbal intimidation. Like we saw with Valeria and Milena. If they crack just because he’s a scary dude with that deep voice then his job is done. If they don’t, though, then I could see him having some videos of what he’s done to people that refused to cooperate. He may start off with a simple video of him taking a man’s finger off, maybe one of him beating them to whatever end and slowly bring out the more disturbing footage. However, if they still don’t cooperate then that’s when Ghost would get physical. A few smacks beforehand may occur but the real pain doesn’t start until he’s lost patience. He is undeniably well capable of hurting someone to a very horrific extreme but I don’t see that to be his fist tactic. If he can get information simply by asking then that would of course be a much bigger ego boost and he also doesn’t come off as a huge sadist. He’s capable, yes, but he isn’t a monster that wants to hurt people on an average day. If the person did something to really piss him off then it may be different but a normal interrogation, I don’t see him being a dick about it. If it involved his men being held hostage, if it involved children, or even animal labs then yeah I could see him getting physical much quicker because his emotion would be involved. I’d say he has a 100% success rate but about 87% of them crack before he has to actually get physical with them. The videos he’d show would work almost every time. The women of course break far quicker than the men, though.

2. Speaking Spanish

- I think he understands it better than he speaks it. There are plenty of people that can hear a language and know exactly what’s going on but when it comes to themselves, they have trouble with the words. I wouldn’t say he’s fluent but he does know enough to understand whatever is said. The car ride with Alejandro and Rudy, it was obvious he knew what they were talking about. He was zoned out but still listening. He didn’t try nearly as much as Soap to attempt and speak it, probably because he didn’t need to. Soap was most likely doing it to try and learn it while Ghost simply understood enough to get his work done.

3. Top or Bottom

- The dudes a top. The man is dominant in every aspect. He wouldn’t mind his girl riding him by any means but he’d still be in charge. I see a lot of people saying he’s a sub all day but I can’t see it. He’s demanding, he’s high ranked, he puts the fear of god into everyone that comes across him. He’d of course love his body worshipped, every scar kissed and licked over, every inch of him praised and felt up but that doesn’t make him the bottom. He’d lay there and let his girl play with him a bit but once he’s had enough, then she’d be pinned under him. Even riding him, he’d probably only let her go a minute or so before grabbing her hips to bounce her up and down. When it comes to teasing, I could easily see his girl being the one doing it in public. Maybe palming him under a table or touching on his thighs, bending over in front of him and thinking she’d get him begging but in reality, once alone he’d be the one making her beg and apologize profusely. If she tried getting him to whine and whimper, he’d turn it right around because let’s be honest here. As bratty as one may be, Ghost is the bigger brat and he also has the size and intimidation about him which would naturally make a girl break

- For the most part I feel like he’d have those deep, husky type of moans. The sighs, the groans, that type. Don’t get me wrong, he’d whimper too. Maybe not often but if you’re going down on him and he gets a bit sensitive and you’re still working the head, he’ll whimper a bit. Or if it’s really passionate one night because he got jealous or had a hard day or something then he’d be whimpering in your ear while filling you up with cum. It wouldn’t be high pitched and whiny by any means but if you listen to Badjhur you know what I’m talking about. I also strongly feel like he’d be a god at dirty talk. That, paired with his deep, sensual voice would make you cum untouched.

5. Piercings

- I’ve seen people say they could see him with nipple piercings. I’ve seen tongue piercings. I’ve seen a lot of piercings. Nipple piercings wouldn’t work for him though. Let’s be honest, as hot as it would be, they couldn’t work. He’s always in gear. The vests are tight and if he got them done, that wouldn’t feel too great. I could almost see him with a tongue piercing but the chances of it getting ripped out are too high. One punch and that would cause more pain than needed. Plus they’d always get stuck in his mask. Now I’ve seen more people say a Jacobs Ladder. It kind of does scream Ghost. Military men tend to wear a cup so that wouldn’t be an issue…however the whole process of getting it done, as well as the healing time, I don’t know. If he got it done when he was younger then I doubt he’d take it out because the cup would easily protect it but getting it done while he was with the SAS or 141 doesn’t seem likely. He’d had to have gotten it when he was 18-20 because he joined the SAS at 21 which of course would be possible. 18-20 though would have been his main training period so that’s kind of a slim chance there unless he had a 6 month gap where he wasn’t on base. Or maybe it would be fun to believe one of the other rookies dared him to do it on a drunken night before he grew up and became more serious.

—Simon ‘Ghost’ Riley Headcannons: Part 1—

1. Driving Skills:

- Most people think he’s a bad driver because of the helicopter as well as the Alone mission. However, I feel he’s actually an exceptional driver. Hear me out. The helicopter was not flyable by any means, yet he managed to get them all out alive even after it was hit with an RPG. He kept the helicopter, which was spinning in circles and going down at an extremely fast rate, from losing complete control. That does take a lot of talent. And for regular driving, they were in a life or death situation. Going through a barrier to escape during the Alone mission doesn’t make him a bad driver. He did it intentionally. It wasn’t an ‘oops I hit something’ the dude was literally trying to save their lives while Soap was already injured. Chances are, he didn’t want to risk a detour when he could simply go through a barrier and be on his merry way.

2. Physical Touch:

- Now I do agree with the idea that he doesn’t like being touched. There’s plenty of reason to think this and yes, the man probably isn’t too fond of it. However, simply not liking it doesn’t mean he can’t handle it. He won’t have a full blown anxiety spike if someone puts their arm around him or gives him a little friendly smack. Of course if it’s someone he’s close with I doubt it would bother him, like when Soap or Price pat his chest or his shoulder he doesn’t seem bothered in the least. On the contrary, if it’s someone he doesn’t know or doesn’t like all too much, he probably wouldn’t appreciate them touching him. He won’t get anxiety over it, he’d just give them a look and most likely get annoyed and step past them or maybe even push their hand away. He’s a grown man and kills people for a living. His little heart won’t be pounding out of his chest just because someone touched him.

3. His Mask & Scars

- Similar to the last. He won’t panic if someone grows a pair and decides to reach for the mask. He’d be pissed, not scared that they saw his face. He’d most likely see it to be the same thing as someone randomly ripping off his dog tags or SAS badge. It would be pure disrespect and they’d get their ass beat on the spot. He isn’t insecure, he’s made that pretty clear as well. He’s confident. I doubt he cares about scars on his face and chances are, he might like them. He’s a tough guy and the only scar that would probably bother him would be the one on his ribs. That’s the only one I agree with that would get to him once in a while, especially when it flares up and the flashbacks hit. Also with a wound that deep, the muscle would never come back properly and it would be a bit indented right there. The scar tissue would have an affect every so often and it probably would make him a bit nauseous. It was gruesome as hell and even the strongest man alive would feel a bit sick with the memories of that happening to him.

4. Sexuality

- The man is straight. I’m sorry but the dude is not gay just because he and Soap tease each other. Men act that way with each other constantly, all it means is they’re close and they’re comfortable with their sexuality. Tbh I’ve seen some fan art of them which yeah…I admit is kinda 👀 but the point is that in reality here, they have a bromance. That’s all it is. I’ve heard much worse between guy friends than they have ever said to each other. Men tease one another because it’s funny and they feel safe enough with each other to play around. It’s not gay and they always have their socks on when they joke with each other. Also let’s be honest, all men in the military act this way with each other. It’s just how it is. They’re so over the job that they need the comic relief. Another point though as to why Ghost is only like that with Soap is because he doesn’t see him as a threat to his dominance or manliness. Due to his SA when he was being held hostage, it makes sense that he wouldn’t really be comfortable enough with another man to joke that way. Soap, though, comes off as harmless to him. Ghost trusts him and most likely sees him as a little brother so there is no need for him to really be on guard with him which means he can open up and have fun. Undoubtably it makes him feel a bit normal again and Soap is probably the equivalent of a emotional support dog to him.

5. Love Life

- Some people say he craves it, others say he doesn’t want it. I say he’s kind of in between. Honestly I think he would love to be able to go home to a girl and have a home cooked meal every night and be able to have her in his arms while he slept. However, he would constantly be terrified of losing her. He’s lost almost everyone he’s ever cared about and he would definitely be the possessive type. Not over the top of course but he’d be a bit controlling for sure out of fear and love for her. But with how demanding his job is and how needed he is in his work, he is very busy and he’d probably prefer to focus on his men and his men only than have his girl lingering in the back of his head. He would have trust issues as well, due to how many times he’s been betrayed. No matter how much he trusted her he’d always have a twinge of doubt in there, especially while he’s deployed which is a big reason why he’d kind of want to stay single. If there was a girl that were to wiggle her way in though and manage to date him, he probably wouldn’t keep a picture of her with him for her safety. He’s got plenty of enemies and he wouldn’t want any link to her which also means he wouldn’t be all too affectionate in public. At home, though, there would definitely be a softer side to him. A lot of boyish teasing, a lot of tickling, back hugs, smacks on her ass as he walks by, and sitting on his lap would be a statement in that house.
