I’ve officially given up on Buddie ever becoming canon. At this point, it feels like they intentionally keep dodging perfect setups (season 5 is my Roman Empire). Instead, they keep feeding us crumbs, just enough to keep hope alive, only to pivot the second it starts getting too real.
My conspiracy theory is that Tim is so deeply obsessed with Eddie as a character that he refuses to "make" him gay, to the point of distancing him from the whole show.
1. They had zero hesitation making a separate show just to do what they refused to do with the OG. Tarlos has always felt like, “Leave 9-1-1 alone, here’s your woke version, happy now?” And I’m not even gonna start on how bad Lone Star was. I wouldn’t be shocked if 9-1-1 Nashville ends up with the same dynamic too, in hopes of fans letting Buddie go (keep me posted because I'm never starting another 9-1-1 variant).
2. Now we’ve got Tommy, who is a bland, rasist version of Eddie, and he is somehow supposed to be the love of Bucks life, ont top of which they are trying to gaslight is into believing he is important part of the story.
So my question is: if they’re so comfortable exploring queer storylines elsewhere, what exactly is stopping Timothy from admitting Eddie is gay? Because I’m running out of ideas.

I'm not watching this episode until I get confirmation that Bobby Nash is alive in two weeks.

I need someone to explain the Tommy obsession to me. I'm not even trying to be mean, like ship whoever you want, but this man has 15 minutes of screen time max (not to mention that maybe a minute of those doesn't paint him in a bad light) throughout 8 seasons and some people love him more than the main characters?
