"Theater of the Spirit" seating edit

@lowedeus converted these seats from the 2006 FPS game "You Are Empty" almost nine(!) years ago. I used @picknmixsims' new Repository Wizard to link them all with the armchair as master, deleted a bunch of extra textures, and split the single ottoman/bench so that cushion and frame can be recolored independently on each piece. You also get ten cushions in @cluedosims' 1928 palette, and seven frames in Cluedo woods (or very close approximations. Some use more Cluedo wood texture than others; some got better results just matching the tones on the original texture.) I kept Lowedeus's filenames, with the exception of adding "_MASTER" to YAETheaterArmchair.package. Let the rest overwrite.

I made a WCIF post at GOS about one of my white whale lost TS2 downloads, VPN's 1946 VC-10 Sorca Furgoneta "Lagarto," which has haunted me for a decade. Anybody got 'em?

Sometimes I download something and it's organized and foldered in a way that is so absolutely foreign and insane to me that I question the creator's very sanity.

Then I remember my preferred Downloads folder organizational structure includes a folder titled "ObjectRecolors" that accounts for 40% of my downloads, and I wonder what that says about me.

This is the most fun thing I've built in a while. It's also completely useless as a functional lot because there's nothing to do. I didn't know about the actual aquarium's secret basement speakeasy until I had already built up the exhibit hall.

This is just the darndest thing: can anybody else access Buggybooz's main Nooks and Niches post? It seems to have disappeared. There's a Wayback version from the end of February, and from that you can get the Box link to the download, but the blog post (and only that one, AFAIK) is gone.

This error was popping up for me even when I tried making dummy meshes that were just EAxis GDMCs split into two groups. I never even looked closely enough at the options to see the SHPE toggle, but it's working great now! Thank you!

Repository Wizard

The Repository Wizard is a utility for automating the repository technique for objects and clothing.

Object Mode

This mode of the Repository Wizard automates the process described by HugeLunatic in their Repository Technique tutorial.

Clothing Mode

This mode of the Repository Wizard creates new re-colours for a new/modified mesh based on an existing mesh with its own set of re-colours.

This is NOT the simple approach to the repository method of linking the dependant's TXMT resource(s) to the donor's TXTR resource(s), but a new, more advanced, approach of linking via the 3IDR resource.

MoyokeanSimblr's Toddler Winter Outfit Edit

@moyokeansimblr's 4t2 EF20WinterOutfit for toddlers + the mittens/sleeves from Nightlife's PMHoodedSweater, swapped for resized AMGP04BootsButton converted 4t2 by MDP here! Eight color variations, all available for both genders. Textures are a mish-mash of the collection Moyokean shared with some fuzzy wool and knit overlays, and undersleeves originally by Yuichen at UYS. Pictured above are GreenPlaid, MissPeach, MissScarlet, and ClueBlue. Below are FrenchBlue, PaleKhaki, RuggedRed, and Navy.

Each outfit is available for both genders and categorized as Outerwear only. I just plopped the mittens/sleeves on an empty portion of the old texture and kept them at 1024x1024 because the buttons got too blurry otherwise.

Issues: As in real life, toddlers move unpredictably. Unlike real life, this causes their abdomens to completely envelop the lowest row of buttons at times, as pictured on the little dude in red above.

Since @elawann asked: this is a few AAS coat textures on a Cocomama mesh, reworked stunningly by @serabiet for GOSmas 2020, but with a legswap for @mdpthatsme's 4t2 Slouch Boots conversion. Everyday and Outerwear, shoe sounds like a heel and not a stompy boot.

Investigating this issue again: I've been living with disappearing phones for a few years. Most of the custom phones are affected in my regular save, but there were three exceptions: two wooden phones by Lithium at SDA & Maylin's 1910 payphone at MTS. Other table phones by Lithium do disappear. I couldn't see any major structural differences in the packages, but I'm not an object creator. I just tried some more recently-created phones, by @jacky93sims: they do not disappear!

So I just popped aaaaaall these phones into a totally vanilla unmodded M&G save. Jacky's phones still persist, but all the other phones disappear. Including those I've been using without issue in my main game.

Maybe this is why I stopped looking into the problem before.

Running into a weird problem that I have never actually encountered before in the Sims 2. Namely: the phone I placed down just... keeps... disappearing as soon as I go to live mode?

It's the SimStone table phone from ModTheSims and I'm so confused.

EDIT: okay it's ALL custom phones?????

I went down a rabbithole of early 20th century asbestos advertising and now I want to make a firehouse in my TS2 neighborhood merely to extoll the virtues of asbestos in all its marvelous applications.
