Look at the difference between these two hugs. Sam and Cas just lock straight into a hug - they are relieved to see each other and happy. But Dean and Cas both touch each other before and Dean is noticeably more gentle. And whereas Sam immediately goes to Mary straight after, Dean and Cas linger for a moment as they continue to hold one another.
