he shifts his weight from one foot to the next, awkward in his own right as he stares at her. gaze turned quickly away a moment later when he realizes it's probably weird of him... shoulders tense & brow creased, he chances meeting her eyes again when she finally replies. it's every bit as odd as he expected it to be but... something had urged him to walk over & say hi. what? he wasn't sure though he'd obliged all the same. eyes lift briefly to the darkened sky before back to her. 'oh yeah....'

        she follows his gaze towards the sky - the clouds are beginning to roll in, she’s not surprised. fall quickly approached, edged up onto the town without warning. now, the chilling breezes don’t bother her as much, it reminds kate of a more simpler time in her life. back to nathan, she stares for probably a few seconds too long, nervously looks away whenever he may glance back in her direction. 

        “ you should put on a heavier coat. did you - did you watch the weather for this week? ” words spill out of her too quick to catch, talking about the weather wasn’t something she was aiming to do.

uh.... hey.........................

        at first, she does not notice him. its a little - weird to see nathan outside of blackwell. but then again, it’s not like she sees nathan around much of anywhere anymore. she slows to a stop, subconsciously, her fingers tighten around the papers against her chest. she forcibly loosens her grip, inhales before speaking. 

        “ hi, ” it comes out as a breath, uncertain and low. for a few seconds, kate is UNSURE of what to say, her teeth linger on the corner of her lip, “ it’s - um, going to rain soon. ”
