People getting offended at the KuKluxKirraman and CaiCaiCaitlyn jokes and being racist to Reed need to chill. Caitlyn became a dictator and peacocked her status as an enforcer (police officer) to commit war crimes against Zaunites. She remained in this position for several months to a year. She never even really faces any true consequences for this either. She's more than earned these nicknames. On top of that, being racist is never acceptable, and being racist over a fictional character is a whole new level of low.

arcane s2 spoilers i guess but my favorite caitlyn moment in this season by far is her conversation with vi when she's trying to convince her to be an enforcer. like immediately vi rejects that and says something like "u want me to be an enforcer? after what they did to my parents? do you understand how that feels?" and CAITLYN'S response is just a perfect showcasing of her misunderstanding of the system. like this is right after she lost her mother to jinx so her response is something like "yes i do". like caitlyn believing that she has been personally victimized by the system through jinx's act of rebellion the same way vi has by losing her parents to enforcers. which is just objectively not true because the violence of jinx and silco and zaun in general will never be state sanctioned. like an enforcers job is to weild violence FOR the state to enforce the status quo and oppress those at the bottom. which is why vi's parents died while they were Rebelling against the state. And we literally see this state sanctioned violence in action when we See caitlyn and vi decide to literally poison the underground. like fundamentally jinx's rebellion is so so different to that but caitlyn is unable to see it because she thinks that all of the violence being enacted is equal in its power, which it isnt. and i think its just such a good moment to show that not even rlly slow slide into fascism by her

Okay, but let's talk for a second about accessibility in M!IK's Netherworld. First of all, I love, LOVE, that the characters in this manga are so heterogeneous in size and shape. I mean, look at MeiMei, they're as big as one of Amduscias's foot, and still taken very seriously :')
Tbh it kinda makes most other series look pretty boring - and I like it this way, the real world is heterogeneous and media should be to (imo). With that said, different shapes can be treated very differently, right? Say, think about making fat people pay for a bigger seat instead of making bigger seats where everyone is more comfy... Weird right? Specifically this panels really hit me:
It low-key sent me into a spiral, not gonna lie. "So, we are literal demons and technically we live in a ruthless world, but also we think about the needs of everybody and accomodate accordingly, because why wouldn't we" And that's not it! For instance, not all demons have tails, but all Babyls uniforms have holes for them, and who doesn't have one simply carries on with their life. (Also, the freedom to customize them... Top notch. And you can mix and match like Opera did, or wear a different one like Azz and Ameri, so no real binarism either ♡)

Honestly, if this is how the Netherworld is, I may just start to summon random demons and ask to be brought there, it's worth a chance if you ask me

A lot of people are talking about Ivan's hypocrisy with Sua and how he berates her for sacrificing herself for Mizi and becoming a source of trauma for her and then he did the same thing, but there's a heartbreaking perspective on this.
Sua and Mizi loved each other. The love was reciprocal. Sua died KNOWING Mizi loved her. Ivan's dislike of her comes from the fact that she knew damn well what her death would do to the person who loved her and she did it anyway. She KNOWINGLY hurt Mizi in the worst way possible while still claiming to love her.
Ivan? Ivan's been drilled for YEARS that Till DOESN'T love him. His love isn't returned. It's very possible that he just believes that he won't be a source of trauma for Till, because Till doesn't love him. So he can die for him all he wants. Of course, the elephant in the room is that we no longer know what Till thinks of Ivan after he kissed him and sacrificed himself for him, but that's AFTER Ivan is already dead. He had no intentions or expectations that what he did would actually hurt Till. And there is something so unbelievably sad about that.

I want to write a book called “your character dies in the woods” that details all the pitfalls and dangers of being out on the road & in the wild for people without outdoors/wilderness experience bc I cannot keep reading narratives brush over life threatening conditions like nothing is happening.
I just read a book by one of my favorite authors whose plots are essentially airtight, but the MC was walking on a country road on a cold winter night and she was knocked down and fell into a drainage ditch covered in ice, broke through and got covered in icy mud and water.
Then she had a “miserable” 3 more miles to walk to the inn.
Babes she would not MAKE it to that inn.

tragic that i have to reckon with the fact that i’m objectively bad at hades. i start a run with absolutely ZERO battle strategy and it’s completely rawdogged from beginning to end. i have no goals. i have no plan. i go in to fight with my gf meg and flirt with my bf than. and like, maybe not die more than four times consecutively.

I love Vash the Stampede. He's a pacifist. He's a hypercompetent gunman. He's a Christ figure. He's a sillie little guy. He wears hipster glasses and a gay earring. He's perpetually in mourning. He's a manmade horror beyond human comprehension, somewhere between a nuclear reactor and a biblically accurate angel. He's pathetic. He likes doughnuts. If you squint at the lore, he's transgender. There's a cute cat that follows him around. He falls in love with a man. The tall-tale-sounding legends about him are true, and he's miserable about it. No, I meant it about that manmade horror thing, he can vaporize cities like it's nothing. There's a scene where he obliviously dances his way into a hostage situation. He wears a trench coat in the desert heat. He has an evil twin. He's emotionally perceptive but horrible at communicating. If conflict is a trolley problem, he solves it by chucking himself onto the tracks, and he's riddled with scars from it. He's a century and a half old and is destined to watch those he loves wither and die around him or fall to darkness. He loves everyone anyway, fiercely, recklessly, though usually from arm's length. When he does truly let someone in, love changes him in ways that will haunt me for years. He's painfully human
