Hi folks! ^^ Here’s another one of my FE3H OCs and El’s siblings; Aline von Hresvelg. She’s got quite a lot of different designs, but so for a reason, so bear with me one this one:
Biography:
Aline is El’s big sister by 6 years and her mum was a black Duscurian lady. She was born with naturally curly brown hair and bore a minor Crest of Seiros.
She was around 15 at the time her siblings and her were abducted and taken to Faerghus where they were experimented on. Her younger brother, Adel (another one of my OCs), lost his own crest at that time, and it got transfered onto her. As a result of bearing two crests, she lost her hair color and fell extremely ill, to the point where she remained pinned in bed for years, unable to gather enough strength to even get up. During that time, she also got several scars forming a star around her right eye.
As time passed by and she discovered Edelgard’s plan to wage war on the Church, she decided she couldn’t just stand there and not help her little sister. Thanks to a lot of will and hard work, she found the strength to get up and moving again and started learning how to wield both the bow and the sword.Â
However, she was not only intending to help on the battlefield, but she was also going to be an imperial spy. Those Who Slither in the Dark found a way to give her the appearance she would’ve had had she not been experimented on and she enters the monastery working as a gardener. Being friendly and outgoing in that position makes it so that a lot of people trust her with their problems and befriend her. After Edelgard declares war on the Church, she leaves for the Alliance tasked with the mission to keep on spying them and keeping her cover. To protect her identity, she’s given the codename “Hélianthe” (which is a less common name for “tournesol” meaning sunflower in French).
A little before the fall of Derdriu in Crimson Flower, she’s tasked with returning to the imperial army as the Alliance is about to collapse and there’s really nothing more that can be done; she unveils her true identity and finally regains her true appearance. She fights alongside the imperial army through the war against the Church and helps in taking down Those Who Slither in the Dark.
Afterit’s all over and done, she settles and becomes a renowned gardener known for her passion and skill. She loses her second crest which is transfered back to Adel and slowly grows her brown hair back.
First design: pre-timeskip undercover design
As she’s undercover, she’s got her brown hair tied in a bun and wears a simple and short pink dress on her job. She’s got a belt with a satchel attached to it where she keeps some of her garden tools so that she can carry them around more easily.
Second design: post-timeskip undercover design
Post timeskip, one of her numerous scars around her eye and some of her white hair start showing. She lets her hair more loose and only tied in the back and wears a yellowish dress that recalls the yellow color of the Alliance. However, on the back of her dress is drawn a sunflower; a hint at her secret identity which is the imperial spy known as l’Hélianthe. From what I read on the internet, sunflowers stand for fake appearances in the flower language. In her hair, she’s also got some aconit flowers which stand for a feeling of false security.
Third design: post-timeskip relaxed outfit
When she unveils her identity and returns to the imperial army, she drops her disguise and returns to her normal looks. She starts wearing the color of the Imperial family, red, and wears a short yet elegant red dress when she’s chilling and not on the battlefield. She’s got a stylised white afro.
Fourth design: war outfit
I made this illustration a while ago so I can see its flaws now, but I love her battlefield design so much. She wears a red armor and pants that allows her to move swiftly while still being protected as well as resistant leather boots. She arbors some white acacia flowers which stand for platonic love, grace and elegance which convey her love and devotion for her little sister.
But what I love overall is her cape which is visibly tattered. When the wind blows, it gives off the impression of a sun with its luminous beams or a sunflower, which evoques her spy name. For a soldier on the battlefield, the vision of a dark figure detachin itself with this cape flowing could be quite scary.
As a weapon, she bears a sword relic that can morph into a bow.
Aaaalright I think I’m done ranting. I love her so much, she’s so sweet and caring, and she’s definitely a complex character.Â
Sidenotes: I’m actually roleplaying a Crimson Flower route with a friend right now and I’m playing my OCs. I hope she’s got it coming hard, and she doesn’t see that the sweet little gardener is actually also a red rose with spines.
