The Women's rhythmic individual all-around competition at the 2016 Summer Olympics was held at the Arena OlĂmpica do Rio. The medals were presented by Alexander Zhukov, IOC member, Russia, and Nataliya Kuzmina, President of the Rhythmic Gymnastics Technical Committee of the FIG, Russia.
Tumblr media
The standard performance area for both men and women is 12m x 12m. The border is 100cm minimum and where there is a delimitation strip between the performance area and the border, the strip is 5cm wide and included as part of the performance area.
Tumblr media
Rope - Look for swings, circles, rotations, wraps, unwraps, figure-eight-type circling movements, throws and catches of the rope. Gymnasts also leap and jump through the open or folded rope, held by both hands.
Hoop - Common movements with the hoop include swings, rolls, tosses and catches, spins, passes through and over the hoop, rotations of the hoop on the floor and rotations of the hoop around the hand and other parts of the body. Most impressive here are the high throws and complex techniques for catching the hoop in a different fashion each time.
Ball - Waves, circles, throws and catches, movement with the ball balanced on the hand, bouncing and rolling the ball on the floor and along parts of the body are all key movements.
Clubs - Swings, large circles, small circles, mills, throws and catches and rhythmical tapping are common tricks.
Ribbon - Ribbon routines are comprised of snakes, spirals, swings, circles, throws and catches and figure-eight movements. The ribbon must remain constantly in motion.
Tumblr media
BASIC SKILLS, TECHNICAL AND TACTICAL SKILLS
Rope- Fundamental requirements include leaps over the rope and skipping. Other elements include swings, throws, circles, rotations and figures of eight. The rope must be held lightly so that all movements and characteristics of this apparatus may be performed. These may be performed with the rope open, or folded, in one or two hands, or in several directions.
Hoop- As a gymnastics apparatus, rhythmic takes the object far beyond the limitations of the old 'hula hoop'. Built around the fundamental requirements of rotating around the hands and body and rolling, there are is abundant variety of movements a gymnast may perform, including throws, swings, circles, figures of 8 and catches (with the hand, foot, leg, arm or even the neck!). Whilst showing a high level of continuity, the gymnast must also show variety in the speed and execution of dance step, hops and jumps throughout a routine.
Ball- An apparatus which brings ball activities out of the house and into a more appropriate environment in the gym! A ball routine is based around the fundamental elements of throwing, bouncing and rolling, where a gymnast is required to utilise the full floor and both their hands, showing a continuous flowing movement.
Clubs- Characterised by rhythmical tapping, you have truly mastered coordination after mastering the clubs. Based around the fundamental elements of mills and small circles, coordination is essential in successfully undertaking swings, circles, asymetrical movements as well as throwing and catching.
Ribbon- The most associated apparatus with rhythmic is of course the ribbon which can capture the imagination of any young girl. A gymnast must ensure movements with the 6 metre long ribbon are large, smooth and flowing, with coordination existing as a crucial skill factor. Fundamental elements include swings, circles, serpants and spirals, which often provide a number of great visuals.
RULES OF THE GAME
Leaps and Jumps
All leaps and jumps must be of a good height, have a clear shape and good amplitude
All leaps with the back arched must have the head in contact with the leg.
Balances
All balances must be performed on the toes or the knee. These must be held clearly and have a good, fixed shape.
Pivots
All pivot combinations must be performed entirely on the toes without heel support.
During the individual programme, an athlete will manipulate only one of these five apparatuses at a time - rope, hoop, ball, clubs and ribbon. One apparatus is rotated out of contention every two years, with the gymnast required to compete on the remaining four events.
HOW TO OFFICIATE THE GAME
Scoring
The Execution Score (E): Starts at a 10.0 and deductions are taken for technical faults (such as catching the apparatus incorrectly or losing the apparatus)
The Final Composition Score (A+D divided by 2): The Artistic Score (A) has a maximum of 10.0 and is based on the music and choreography. The Difficulty Score (D) starts at 0 and builds to a maximum of 10.0 depending on the skills performed.

The ladies' single figure skating competition of the 2018 Winter Olympics was held at the Gangneung Ice Arena in Gangneung, South Korea. The short program was held on 21 February, and the free skating was held on 23 February.
Tumblr media
COURT DIMENSION
The seven-storey structure, with a total floor area of 58,790 square metres and a capacity of 35,000 spectators, is located in the Pyeongchang Olympic Plaza. The circular stage is 72 metres in diameter.
Tumblr media
FIGURE SKATING EQUIPMENTS
Figure Skating Boots - Properly fitting figure skating boots are very important for injury prevention and performance. The back of each boot should fit snugly against each heel. Heel slippage can lead to heel bumps, callouses, and hammer toes. There should be just enough room to wriggle your toes slightly and you should not lose circulation in your feet once the laces are firmly and completely tied.
Figure Skating Blades- Beginner and recreational figure skaters can use "recreational blades" usually already mounted to the boot. If you have progressed beyond the beginner level you will want a more specific blade based on your skating style and ability.
Blade Guards- Blade guards protect blades while walking to the ice, reducing your need for blade sharpening. Don't forget to remove the guards before you step onto the ice.
Hydration- Keeping hydrated will help you stay alert while skating, may help to prevent muscle cramps and will help your post-training or competition recovery. Take your own drink bottles to the rink so that you can monitor your fluid consumption.
Tumblr media
BASIC SKILLS
Basic Skills forms a strong foundation for skaters to explore the world of skating. Each level introduces new skills and techniques, encouraging skaters to advance while having fun in a healthy and social environment.
RULES OF THE GAME
Athletes must wear approved figure skates.
Women must wear tights, trousers, and or unitards.
Athletes must vary their performances from routine to routine
Certain types of music are not allowed
Athletes can be disqualified for not following time regulations
HOW TO OFFICIATE THE GAME
Evaluators- Evaluators assess skaters at assessment days arranged periodically by Skate Canada member clubs, so that their skaters can be assessed and move on to the next level or test.
Technical Specialist and Technical Controllers - are former athletes, coaches, Skate Canada judges or referees recruited for the correct identification of elements and levels of difficulty of these elements when attempted by skaters and teams in competition.
Judges - Judges officiate at all levels of competitions, and are responsible for assessing the quality with which a skater performs in competition and also assess competitive tests.
Referees - The referee oversee the ice conditions, ensures that all rules applicable to an assessment or competition are followed and acts as chairman of the judges’ panel and arbiter in policy or procedure disputes. At smaller events, the referee will typically act as both referee and one of the judges.
The Referee is also responsible for writing reports on the judges assessing their performance at a specific event. The reports are reviewed as part of the process of officials promotions.
Data Specialist - are the individuals responsible for calculating the marks awarded by the judges and tabulating the final result. If open marking is used at an event the data specialists are normally found at ice level. At other events, they will be in the result calculation centre. Generally, each event will have a Chief Data Specialist who ensures all accounting rules are followed when determining the result of an event. They work with the technical representative or referee and technical controller to post results, attend draws and to answer questions regarding results calculation

Synchronized swimming competitions at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro were staged from 15 to 20 August at the Maria Lenk Aquatic Center. A total of 104 athletes competed in two medal events, namely the women's duet and the women's team.
Tumblr media
The pool olympic measures; length: 50 meters (164 feet), width: 25 meters (84 feet), number of lanes: 8 to 10, lane width: 2.5 meters (8.2 feet).
Tumblr media
Artistic Swimming Equipments
Synchronised swimming is a form of rhythmic swimming where the athletes have to respond according to the music and have to swim or dance in water accordingly. Hence, the equipment used in this sport are quite different from other swimming sports.
Nose clip- In synchronized swimming, the athletes have to perform a lot of underwater movements. There are chances of water entering into the nose of the players. In order to avoid that, the athletes use a small clip of hard plastic or wire. It also has a thin rubber coating.
Goggles- Goggles provide safety to the eyes. Due to underwater movement, water may enter in the eyes. It is important to note that the goggles are not allowed for routine competitions. Athletes can use goggles only for trainings. This is only used for figure test. Like goggles, athletes also cannot use the bathing caps during routine competitions. During figure test, only a white or black bathing cap is worn by athletes.
Underwater Speakers- The most important equipment for synchronized swimming is the underwater speakers. Swimmers cannot perform under water if the music is not audible. Music plays an important role in synchronized swimming because it is a rhythmic sport.
Swimsuit- One of the most important aspects of the swimsuit is that it must be comfortable for the athletes and it must be non-transparent. During the figure test, a black swimsuit is recommended for the athletes and during routine competition, a routine suit for each athlete that suits the music is recommended.
Tumblr media
BASIC SKILLS / TACTICAL AND TECHNICAL SKILLS
The basic skills you will need in synchronised swimming is sculling and treading water with a kick called the "eggbeater".
Skulls- Sculls are hand movements used to propel the body and are essential to synchronised swimming. Some commonly used sculls are support, standard, torpedo, split-arm, barrel and paddle scull. The support scull is most often used and is made up of two repeated movements. You need to hold your upper arms against your body and your forearms at 90-degree angles. Then, you move your forearms back and forth to create enough water pressure to hold your legs above the water.
Eggbeater- This move is much like how a manual eggbeater works, with one leg rotating in a clockwise manner and rotating the other leg in an anti-clockwise manner. Synchronised swimmers use this kick because it leaves their hands free to perform strokes. Due to the opposite motion of the kick, it is a stable and efficient way for swimmers to attain the necessary height to perform moves above the water.
Positions- There are hundreds of positions that can be used to create infinite combinations. The six most common positions are; Crane position, Ballet Leg Double Position, Side Fishtail Position, Knight Position, Flamingo Position, and Split Position
Lifts- Lifts are formations that are formed underwater and as swimmers propel themselves towards the surface, they stay in formation and add more elements like acrobatics. There are three parts to a lift in synchronised swimming: The Flyer, the Base and the Pushers.
RULES OF THE GAME
No Touching The Bottom
One of the things which makes the lifts all the more impressive is that artistic swimmers are not allowed to touch the bottom of the pool at any point during their routines.
No Bling
Presentation is a unique and important part of artistic swimming but there are certain restrictions on what swimmers can wear. For example, artistic swimmers are not permitted jewellery, theatrical make-up, or inappropriate costumes.
No Goggles
Another restriction during artistic swimming routines is goggles. However, swimmers in figures competitions are permitted to wear them.
Team Means Team
Teams normally contain eight swimmers, but the minimum number for a team is four. Teams lose marks for every swimmer they have under the full complement because it is easier to synchronise the fewer people there are in a routine.
Stick To The Schedule
Routines can be anything from two and a half minutes to five minutes long, depending on whether they are performed alone or as part of a team. However, swimmers are penalised if they take 15 seconds fewer or longer than the specified time.
OFFICIALS IN SYNCHRO
Timekeeper
The role of a timekeeper is to check, and record, the overall times of the routines and of the deck movements. If the time limit for the deck work is exceeded or there is a deviation from the permitted routine time allowance, the timekeeper advises the referees.
Clerk of the course
The role of a clerk of the course is to organise the competitors so that they are ready for their events at the required time. During figure competitions, they ensure that the swimmers are in the correct order to perform their figures.
Scorer
The role of a synchro scorer is to record marks from the judges and make the necessary computations for each routine. There are two levels of synchro scorer – national scorer and chief recorder.
National scorers write down and manipulate all the scores that come in for figures and routines at competitions. They can officiate at any level of domestic competition including the National Age Group Championships and ASA National Championships.
Judge
Synchro judges are essential for running synchronised swimming competitions as they provide scores based on the performance of each routine. They are also responsible for marking grade level assessments. To reduce the level of subjectivity in scoring, all synchro judges must be expertly-trained. They require a full understanding of FINA and the ASA’s rules and regulations for synchronised swimming competitions.
To maintain their qualification or progress, all judges must officiate at a certain number of grade assessments and competitions.
There are three levels of Judge:
Level 1: Candidates must be 16 years old to take the level 1 judge course. They will be qualified to judge at level 1 and 2 competitions. The course includes:
Use of marking scales
Develop understanding of basic movements and positions
Able to identify Figures in current age groups (12U and 13/14/15)
Ethics
Develop knowledge and understanding of Free Routines
Knowledge of Grade 1 and 2 criteria and assessment criteria
Level 2: Candidates must have been a level 1 judge for at least a year. They will be qualified to judge at regional competitions at the National Age Group Championships. The course includes:
In-depth knowledge of Junior Figures (15-18 years)
Develop knowledge of rules and penalties
Develop knowledge of NVT, difficulty values and application to figures. Application of deductions to figures
Exposure to variety of level of figures and scores
Knowledge and awareness of Grade 3/4/5 criteria
Further analysis of Free Routines – range of level of routines, recognition of difficulty
Level 3: Candidates must have been a level 2 judge for at least a year. They will be qualified to judge at the National Championships. The course includes:
Further knowledge about rules, penalties and organisation
In-depth knowledge about judging Figures and component parts
Further develop knowledge and aptitude regarding judging Free Routines
Awareness of Grade 6 criteria
In-depth knowledge of technical elements across solos, duets and team
Referee
The role of a synchro referee is to oversee the control of a synchronised swimming competition. The referee makes sure all aspects of the event are run smoothly and follow FINA rules.

The women's singles tennis tournament at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro was held at the Olympic Tennis Centre in the Barra Olympic Park in Barra da Tijuca in the west zone of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from 6 to 13 August 2016. The draw for the event was conducted at 11 a.m. local time on Thursday, 4 August.
Tumblr media
The court is 78 feet (23.77 m) long. Its width is 27 feet (8.23 m) for singles matches and 36 feet (10.97 m) for doubles matches. The service line is 21 feet (6.40 m) from the net. Additional clear space around the court is needed in order for players to reach overrun balls for a total of 60 feet (18 m) wide and 120 feet (37 m) long. A net is stretched across the full width of the court, parallel with the baselines, dividing it into two equal ends. The net is 3 feet 6 inches (1.07 m) high at the posts, and 3 feet (0.91 metres) high in the center. The net posts are are 3 feet (0.91 m) outside the doubles court on each side or, for a singles net, 3 feet (0.91 m)
Tumblr media
Racket
Rackets can be made of many alloys or wood. There are no restrictions on the size or materials used in making a racket. It has an oval head and a gradually widening throat that connects the narrow handle with the head of the racket.
The head of the racket is tightly woven with strings which are made of various materials like nylon, gut or synthetic gut. The handles are covered with leather or nylon for a better grip.
Ball
As per ITF rules, Tennis balls are yellow colored spherical balls, with a diameter between 2.5 and 2.625 inches. They weigh between 2 and 21/16 oz. Pressurized rubber is used to make semi spherical half shells. They are then joined with compressed air between them.
The spherical balls are covered with bright yellow colored felt. Kids aged ten and under play with different colored balls. They move slower, bounce lower. They are also softer and larger and are easy for kids to hit them.
Net
A rectangular net is used to separate the two sides of a Tennis court. The net should cover the space between the two net posts. The net is woven in such a way that it does not allow the Tennis ball to pass through. It is usually tied in about 3 feet above the ground at the centre.
Wrist bands
Wrist bands are worn around wrists to prevent sweat from wetting the players’ palm or the racket. A wet grip might not be strong.
Head band
Headbands are used to absorb sweat. They also tie player’s hair away from their face. Any tight cap made of absorbent material can also be used instead of a head band.
Tennis shoes
Just running shoes don’t provide enough lateral support to players. Tennis shoes are designed to give players better stability and prevent them from sliding while moving sideways. Shoes shouldn’t damage the court when players move briskly across the court.
Dress
Women are advised to wear just any comfortable dress, of late many Tennis champions try to make a style statement with their carefully designed clothes. Many players prefer wearing a tank top or a T-shirt on a short skirt.
Tumblr media
All games of tennis consist of six basic strokes: the serve, forehand groundstroke, backhand groundstroke, forehand volley, backhand volley, and the overhead smash. The 6 basic “strokes” are the fundamental movements a player performs to hit a tennis ball.
Technical and Tactical Skills
Technical skills comprised the ball velocity, ball accuracy, efficiency, success rates and percentage errors of players. Tactical skills comprised anticipatory and decision-making skills, tactical knowledge and visual search strategies.
Rules of the Game
A ball must land within bounds for play to continue; if a player hits the ball outside of bounds, this results in the loss of the point for them.
Players/teams cannot touch the net or posts or cross onto the opponent’s side.
Players/teams cannot carry the ball or catch it with the racquet.
Players cannot hit the ball twice.
Players must wait until the ball passes the net before they can return it.
A player that does not return a live ball before it bounces twice loses the point.
If the ball hits or touches the players, that counts as a penalty.
If the racquet leaves the hand or verbal abuse occurs, a penalty is given.
Any ball that bounces on the lines of boundary are considered good.
A serve must bounce first before the receiving player can return it.
TENNIS OFFICIALS
Line Umpires - Line Umpires get to call the shots – literally – at all levels of tournaments, from grassroots all the way through to the Australian Open. It might appear simple, but the best Line Umpires need to be able to concentrate for long periods of time, be team players, and (of course) require excellent eyesight. As well as calling the lines, they act as an extra pair of eyes and ears for the Chair Umpire.
Chair Umpires - Aside from the players, the Chair Umpire is the most important person on court during a match. The Chair Umpire has enormous responsibility during a match, and are responsible for everything from calling the score to enforcing the rules and managing the players. A successful Chair Umpire needs great communication skills, the ability to stay calm under pressure, and 20:20 vision.
Community Official - Community Officials start as Court Monitors which help to identify on court queries but can quickly graduate to Court Supervisors to help enforce the Rules of Tennis and Code of Behaviour, as well as resolving on court queries.
Referee- The Referee is the expert in all things rules and regulations. Referees supervise all aspects of a tournament, from taking charge of the draws and schedules, to enforcing the rules and making sure everything runs smoothly and in the spirit of fairness.

Table Tennis at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro took place from 6 to 17  August 2016 at the third pavilion of Riocentro. Around 172 table tennis players (equally distributed between men and women) competed in both the singles and team events.Table tennis had appeared at the Summer Olympics on seven previous occasions beginning with the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul. In addition to men's and women's singles, the team events were staged for the third time since replacing doubles events at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.
Tumblr media
Table tennis tables are regulated playing surfaces designed specifically for the game of table tennis (ping-pong). Table tennis tables measure 9’ | 2.74 m long by 5’ | 1.525 m in wide. The playing surface of a ping-pong table must be set at a height of 2.5’ | 76 cm and is equipped with a center net that is 6” | 15.25 cm high and stretches 6” | 15.25 cm beyond the width of the table. Tables can be constructed out of a variety of materials ranging from common designs using plywood and/or particle-board to more exotic variants made of concrete, metal, plastic or fiber-glass. The materiality of a table tennis table is a matter of preference, but the bounce of the ball on the surface should be uniform at a height of 9.1” | 23 cm when dropped at a height of 11.8” | 30 cm.
Tumblr media
Ball- The ball that used in the game weighs 2.7 grams. It is a small celluloid ball that is white or orange in color, depending on the preference of the player. They come in different qualities with those possessing 3 stars being the best kind It is recommended for beginners.
Rubber, Racket, or Paddle- The table tennis racket or paddle is another important piece of equipment. It is used to hit the ball back and forth on the table. The shape is similar to the one used for tennis except it is smaller and made of different materials. The racket is made of wood and rubber. It is divided into two parts, the handle, and blade. The quality of both parts of the racket can affect the force applied by the player. The player must choose the best kind of racket to get good results.
Table Tennis Table- Included in the list of important table tennis equipment is the table. The ITTF specifies that the official table tennis tables used in the tournament must be 9 ft long, 5 ft wide, and must be placed 30 inches above the ground. They come in either green, blue, or black color and are made from hardboard. The surface must be smooth to provide the lowest friction possible.
Net and Post - The net is bought together with the table or rackets, or it can be bought by itself. Whatever the case, it should be six feet long and six inches wide. It should have an upper white tape that is not more than 15mm wide. Also, it should include an assembly that can be attached to the middle of the table tennis table.
Tumblr media
For what I have seen on the video that was given to us is that the basic skills they used are the: Forehand Drive, The BackHand Drive, The BackHand Push, and lastly The Forehand Push.
Technical and Tactical Skills
Tactics generally rely on three main skills:
The ability to keep the ball in play
The ability to play the ball to certain area of the table.
The ability to apply pressure on your opponent by using different types and amounts of spin, and different speeds, in order to crrate openings and hit winning shots.
Rules of the Game
1. GAMES ARE PLAYED TO 11 POINTS
A Game is played to 11 points. A Game must be won by two points. A Match is generally the best three of five Games.
2. ALTERNATE SERVES EVERY TWO POINTS
Each side of the table alternates serving two points at a time. EXCEPTION: After tied 10-10 (“deuce”), service alternates at every point. Can you lose on a serve in ping pong? Yes! There is no separate rule for serving on Game Point.
3. TOSS THE BALL STRAIGHT UP WHEN SERVING
How do you serve the ball in ping pong? Hold the ball in your open palm, behind your end of the table. Toss at least 6” straight up, and strike it on the way down. It must hit your side of the table and then the other side. NOTE: Once the ball leaves the server’s hand it is in play, and so counts as the receiver’s point if the ball is missed or mis-hit.
4. THE SERVE CAN LAND ANYWHERE IN SINGLES
There is no restriction on where the ball lands on your side or your opponent’s side of the table. It can bounce two or more times on your opponent’s side (if so, that’s your point), bounce over the side, or even hit the edge.
5. DOUBLES SERVES MUST GO RIGHT COURT TO RIGHT COURT
The serve must bounce in the server’s right court, and receiver’s right court (NOTE: landing on center line is fair). Doubles partners switch places after their team serves twice.
6. A SERVE THAT TOUCHES THE NET ON THE WAY OVER IS A “LET”
Can the ball hit the net in ping pong? Yes, during a RALLY, if it touches the top of the net and then otherwise lands as a legitimate hit. BUT not when serving. If a served ball hits the net on the way over and otherwise legally bounces in play, it’s a “let” serve and is done over. There is no limit on how many times this can happen.
7. ALTERNATE HITTING IN A DOUBLES RALLY
Doubles partners must alternate hitting balls in a rally, no matter where the ball lands on the table.
8. VOLLEYS ARE NOT ALLOWED
Can you hit the ball before it bounces in ping pong? No. In regular tennis you may “volley” the ball (hitting the ball before it bounces on your side of the net). But in table tennis, this results in a point for your opponent.
9. IF YOUR HIT BOUNCES BACK OVER THE NET BY ITSELF IT IS YOUR POINT
If you hit the ball in a rally or on a serve and it bounces back over the net after hitting your opponent’s side of the table (due to extreme spin), without your opponent touching it, that is your point.
10. TOUCHING THE BALL WITH YOUR PADDLE HAND IS ALLOWED
What happens if the ball hits your finger or hand during a ping pong rally? If the ball touches your PADDLE hand and otherwise results in a legal hit, there is no rule violation and play shall continue as normal. Your paddle hand includes all fingers and hand area below the wrist. But what if the ball touches a player’s body anywhere else during a ping pong rally? You may not touch the table with your non-paddle hand for any reason. It will result in a point for your opponent. BUT if your opponent’s hit sails over your side of the table without touching it, and hits any part of you or your paddle, that is still your point.
11. YOU MAY NOT TOUCH THE TABLE WITH YOUR NON-PADDLE HAND
You may touch the ball or the table with your paddle hand (after reaching in to return a short serve, for example), or other parts of your body.
12. AN “EDGE” BALL BOUNCING OFF THE HORIZONTAL TABLE TOP SURFACE IS GOOD
An otherwise legal serve or hit may contact the top edge of the horizontal table top surface and be counted as valid, even if it bounces sidewise. The vertical sides of the table are NOT part of the legal playing surface.
13. HONOR SYSTEM APPLIES TO DISAGREEMENTS
If no referee is present during a match and the players disagree on a certain call, the “honor system” applies and the players should find a way to agree, or play the point over. Ping pong carries a tradition of fierce but fair play.
OFFICIATING THE TABLE TENNIS
For every table tennis competition, a referee is appointed with a deputy who can act on their behalf. The referee is required to be present at the venue throughout a tournament and is required to uphold the rules.
During a table tennis match, an umpire is appointed to decide on the result of each point or rally. The umpire is required to use their judgement when applying the laws and regulations of the ITTF. Where the umpire is officiating alone, their decision is final and they should be seated about 2–3 metres from the side of the table and in line with the net

Tumblr media
•Badminton Equipments- The Badminton Equipments they used are Badminton Racket, Shuttlecock, Badminton Shoes, Badminton Accessories, Grip, Badminton Clothes, Socks, Wrist Band, Headband.
Tumblr media
BASIC SKILLS
The basic forehand and backhand grip- The basic forehand grip is much like shaking somebody’s hand. The backhand grip is for some people easier to get right.
The split/step and ready balance- Its the basis of building good footwork and speed around the court.
The basic shots- Variants of shots include slicing the shuttle, tumbling the shuttle, or hitting it at different angles with different swings.
Hand-eye coordination- By having good hand-eye coordination is essential for Badminton.
Playing catch- It is the way to improve hand-eye coordination
Technical and Tactical Skills
The Ready Stance- It is a position in badminton wherein the right stance is readied by the player in order to minimize the amount of movements.
Footwork- It is the necessary skill in order to play badmintoon.
Underarm Backhand Serve- It is a type of serve that beginners can use.
RULES IN BADMINTON
A player must wait until his opponent is ready before serving. If the opponent attempts a return then he is ruled having beenready.
The feet of both players must remain in a stationary position until the serve is made.
Your feet can not be touching the lineat this time. It is not a fault if you miss the shuttle while serving.
The shuttle cannot be caught and slung with the racket.
A player cannot hold his racket near the net to ward off a downward stroke by his opponent or to interfere with his racket
FAULTS
The shuttle, at the instant of being hit is higher than the servers waist or the head of the racket is higher than the servers racket hand.
The shuttle does not land in the correct service court
The server's feet are not in the service court or if the feet of the receiver are not in the court diagonally opposite the server.
The server steps forward as he/she serves.
Any player balking or feinting his opponent before serve orduring serve.
A serve or shot that lands outside the court boundaries, passes under or through the net, touches any other obstructions or a players body or clothing. The boundary and service lines areconsidered in play.
BADMINTON OFFICIALS
Referee- The referee is the most important official of the whole tournament. He or she is in charge of the competition and needs to ensure that the tournament is conducted following the Laws of Badminton (including court, rackets and shuttlecock measurements), the regulations of the Badminton World Federation and/or any other regulations that might be relevant in that specific competition. In addition to that, the referee has the last word if there is an argument between the umpire (in chargeof the matches) and a player or team
Umpire- The duty of the umpire is to make sure that he specific match is conducted following the Laws of Badminton, he regulations of the Badminton World Federation and/or any other regulations that might be relevant in that specific competition. It is the umpire responsibility to judge service faults and other player faults. The umpire keeps a record of anymisbehaviour or incident and reports it to the referee. He/she is also responsible for keeping the match score, which will be announced after each point of the match. The umpire has control over the specific match but also needs to report any serious acts to the referee, who is, at the end, the maximum authority of the tournament.
Service Judge- The service judge is responsible for making a ‘service fault’ call and to provide shuttles to the players. Due to the way badminton is played, the serve is one of the most important and perfected shots of the player and, especially when playing doubles, players will bring the serve to the limit of the legality in order to gain as much advantage as possible
Line Judge- The line judges are responsible for indicating whether a shuttlecock landed “in” or “out” if the shuttle lands near the lines he/she is assigned to control. Due to the fast speed of the game and the skill of the players, this is a very challenging job and, as a result, the line judges are the officials that usually get more pressure from the players.

Ball- this is considered to be an important thing in the basketball game. If you are buying the ball for practicing then it can be a rubber ball or you need to buy the inflated ball made of leather for professional competition. The basketball ball for men size is from 29.5 to 30 inches.
Shoes- they used special shoes because it only provides support to the ankles when compared to the normal running shoes.
Basketball Shooting equipment - the basketball shooting equipment is known as a hoop or a basket. The basket is made of mettalic rim and circular in shape.
Basketball Court- the basketball court is the next important thing for shooting the ball after the hook. The court where the match or tournament takes place is made up of wooden floorboard. The court size differs from national to international tournaments.
Backboard - It is considered to be one of the five essential gears that every basketball player needs. It has the shape of the rectangle and placed behind the rim.
Uniform - uniform is the most essential component for getting trained in the basketball team. This helps to differentiate one team from another.
Shot clock and whistle - they are used to maintain the game the whistle is used to stop in the middle and clock is used to view the time.
Tumblr media
Shooting - Shooting can be defined as putting the ball in the basket to score points. In this loose definition, layups, dunks, mid range jump shots, three-pointers, and free throws are all part of shooting.
Passing - Passing is when a player throws the ball to another player on his team. If that pass directly led to a basket, it is called an assist. Passes are also classified as a bounce pass, overhead pass, drop pass, basketball pass, and more.
Dribbling- Dribbling, or ball handling, is the method of bouncing the ball up and down the floor with one hand to advance it. Dribbling with both hands more than once is a violation (called a double dribble or driblle violation).
Offensive rebounding- Offensive rebounds are rebounds that you collect from the misses of your own team. Generally speaking, it’s tougher to get an offensive than a defensive rebound because offensive players are oftern positioned away from the rim.
Technical and Tactical Skills
The techniques or technical skills that they used as what I’ve seen in the video are dribbling, passing, and shooting. The tacticals skills are spacing. The more that a team spreads the court and forces the defense to defend from side to side, the more space the offense will find for open and higher percentage shots. Another is cut, a cut is a sudden change of direction of players so as to get an ooen shot or to get an open are to snatch the ball. Next would be the screen, a screen is when a player blocks a defender to protect his teammate and help it get an open. Next important thing is defense, a defense player must watch and guard one offense player and prevent them from further penetrating and making a shot.
Rules of the Game
The ball may be thrown in any direction with one or both hands.
The ball may be batted in any direction with one or both hands.
A player cannot run with the ball. The player must throw it from the spot on which he catches it, allowance to be made for a man who catches the ball when running at a good speed if he tries to stop.
The ball must be held in or between the hands; the arms or body must not be used for holding it.
No shouldering, holding, striking, pushing, or tripping in any way of an opponent. The first infringement of this rule by any person shall count as a foul; the second shall disqualify him until the next basket is made or, if there was evident intent to injure the person, for the whole of the game. No substitution shall be allowed.
A foul is striking at the ball with the fist, violation of rules three and four and such described in rule five.
If either side makes three consecutive fouls, it shall count a goal for the opponents (consecutive means without the opponents in the mean time making a foul).
OFFICIATING OFFICIALS
Officials Conduct Game- During actual play, there is no practical difference between the referee and umpire(s). They are equally responsible for the conduct of the game; and, because of the speed of play, their duties are dictated essentially by their respective positions on the court from moment to moment. For this reason, the rules specify that no official has the authority to question decisions made by another official. The officials' control, which begins 30 minutes before starting time for men and 15 minutes for women and concludes with the referee's approval of the final score, includes the power to eject from the court any player, coach or team follower who is guilty of flagrant unsporting conduct. When the referee leaves the confines of the playing area at the end of the game, the score is final and may not be changed.
Officials Signals- When a foul occurs, the official is required by the rules to (a) signal the timer to stop the clock, (b) designate the offender to the scorer and Š use his or her fingers to indicate the number of free throws. When a team is entitled to a throw-in, an official must (a) signal what caused the ball to become dead, (b) indicate the throw-in spot (except after a goal) and (c) designate the team entitled to the throw-in.
Duties of Scorers and Timers-Scorers must (a) record, in numerical order, names and numbers of all players, (b) record field goals made and free throws made and missed, (c) keep a running summary of points scored, (d) record fouls called on each player and notify officials when a player-disqualification or bonus-free-throw situation arises, (e) record timeouts and report when a team' s allotted number has been used, and (f) record when a squad member has been ejected for fighting. It is the game-clock and shot-clock operators' responsibility to keep everyone abreast of key factors while carrying out the timing regulations.
The Officiating Staff- The makeup of the officiating corps is strictly a matter of choice. The minimum number is five: a referee, an umpire, a scorer, a timer and a shot-clock operator. In some cases, eight officials are used in a lineup comprising a referee, two umpires, a shot-clock operator, two scorers and two timers.

The event was held at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City. The Philippine woman’s volleyball team absorbed an opening game loss in the 30th Southeast Asin (SEA) Games.
Tumblr media
The game is played on a volleyball court 18 meters (59 feet) long and 9 meters (29.5 feet) wide, divided into 9m x 9m halves by a one meter (40-inch) wide net placed so that the top of the net is 2.43 meters (7 feet 11 5/8 inches) above the center of the court for men’s competition, and 2.34 (7 feet 4 1/8 inches) for women’s competition.
Tumblr media

Tumblr media
For what I have seen on the video that was given I have noticed that there are 6 Basic Skills in Volleyball; Passing, Setting, Spiking, Blocking, Digging, and Serving.
•Passing- is often thought of as the most important skill in volleyball. If you can’t pass the serve, then you won’t ever put your team in a position to score a point.
•Serving- used this opportunity to give the team an advantage for scoring points
•Blocking- is perhaps the least taught skill in volleyball. Players can get away with poor blocking siills because not blocking isn’t going yo hurt the team as much as being poor at executing other skills in volleyball.
• Digging- is another skill that isn’t focused onnquite as much as most skills in volleyball.
•Setter- is considered to be the most important position in volleyball
Technical and Tactical Skills
For the technical and Tactical Skill the defensive tactics in volleyball are blocking, diving, rolling and sliding. Passing Tactics in Volleyball are digging and setting. Attacking Tactics in Volleyball are serving and spiking. As you can see most of the skills that have been mentioned are already in the 6 basic skills.
Rules of the Game
•Each team consist of 6 players and 6 substitutes. Players can be substituted at any time but if they are to return can only be swapped for the player that replaced them.
•Each team can hit the ball up to three times before the ball must be returned. The defensive team can then try and block or return the ball again hitting it a maximum of three times.
•Games are played up to 25 points and must be won by 2 clear points.
•Violations will be called for the following.
Stepping over the base line when serving the ball
Balls hits the net and fails to get over the net
Players are not allowed to carry, palm or run with the ball.
Players must not touch the net with any part of the body. If the net is said to have hit them rather than vice-versa, then this is ok
The ball cannot travel under the net.
Players cannot reach over the net and hit the ball.
Volleyball Officials
•The scorekeeper’s main jobe is to make sure the score is correct at all times. The scorekeeper uses a score sheet to keep tract of the game.
•The assistant scorer (or libero tracker) sits at the scorer’s table next to the scorekeeper. The assistant scorer’s main function is to record libero replacements on to a libero tracking sheet.
•Line judges watch the endline and sideline of the respective corners. Line judge’s main responsibility is to make signals to help out the referees in making judgment calls. Line judges may be instructed to use flags to make signals.

•Badminton Officials

A decision is a conclusion that is taken with much consideration. To take a life is much more than a decision. It is a point of no return. Many people believe that the death penalty is necessary for criminals who have broken serious laws that can harm the society we live in today. In many ways, the death penalty is considered cruel and unusual punishment for criminals all around the world. Most states have a death penalty although many define it differently, and have various crimes that qualify for it. People have become so liberal that they are willing to give everyone a second chance. People want to give the man who raped and murdered ten women in a matter of days the same second chance as the little boy who stole a candy bar from the grocery store . It might just be me, but I see a huge difference in the effect of those crimes on the rest of the population. Women are not going to live in fear about going to the grocery store because a little boy stole a candy bar, but they are going to think twice about going shopping by themselves at night when they 've heard that a serial rapist and murderer is among them. I think all crimes should have an equal punishment, but I do not necessarily believe in the eye for an eye way of thinking. Many believe that the criminal should be punished to the fullest extent of the law. Having the possibility of the prisoner breaking out and strike again is not a risk they’re willing to take, so they believe that killing the prisoner is better and less risky. Many victims who have survived the actions of the perpetrator or know a loved one who has been through a murder or a crime believe that the criminal should be killed because they experienced its first hand and went through the emotional trauma that the criminal caused. Many of these people let emotion take over their beliefs by skewing in one direction due to the impact a criminal might have had.

Nelson Mandela: Freedom and Justice
Nelson Mandela was awarded an honorary degree during a special ceremony at Harvard in September 1998. He gave an informative speech to them and that everyone should be ready to listen to him because it is an important speech for him and to everybody. I can say that Nelson Mandela did what he wanted to say. He delivered a successful speech to everyone which they can also learn from him. His speech was about equality and the wrong doings of the people and that he wanted to remind everybody to help one another even though they have different race, gender, creed and opportunities for development. Thanks to President Mandela because they were able to understand him and to support one another.
Emma Watson: Gender Equality
Emma Watson gave an persuasive speech about Gender Equality because she wanted the listeners to know that having a different sex, race, class doesn’t matter. Much of Emma Watson’s speech contained fairly basic points about feminism that have nevertheless been distorted in light of the increasing normalisation of anti-feminism. She is right that feminism is not innately about “man hating”. She did a great job in doing a speech about Gender Equality.
2016 World Champion of Public Speaking: Darren Tay Wen Jie
Darren Tay gave an entertaining speech and persuasive speech to the audience which in the beginning he make the audience laugh. His speech was about bullying, he wanted to share his story when he was still a kid and share a lesson to everybody that the best way to deal an inner bully is not to run or hide, but it is to stand firm, face it and acknowledge its presence. Which I was amused about his speech and he was actually right.

Robin Meade is a HLN News Anchor she has so much energy and genuine as a news anchor. She starts her day at 3 a.m and three hours later she’s waking up America with “Morning Express” on HLN. She’s live on-air for four straight hours, she stay so calm talking in front of an entire nation for 4 hours and everyone was so impressed about her. She comes off as a happy-go-lucky, confident anchor on HLN’s daily “Morning Express” and thats what i like about her being confident infront of the audience even though she is tired and has so much work to do.
My family and friends said that she is so good in doing her job by not having a single mistake doing in front of the camera. They were so impressed about her as a person and as a news anchor.
How effective was she in communicating what she wanted needed to say? Well, She did it really good, she delivered her speech very well to the audience and she is an educated person also and thats why many people are inspired at her.

The story tells about the struggle of the man that will became King George VI. After his father’s death, his brother ascends to the throne and when he abdicates George “Bertie”, plagued by a dreadful stammer, considers himself unfit to be king. He is helped by an unorthodox speech therapist, named Lionel Logue. Through a set of unexpected techniques, and as a result of an unlikely friendship, at the end of the story Bertie found his own voice and will be able to lead the country through war. The King delivers his final Christmas speech in 1951 and dies in his sleep a short time later. He and Logue corresponded up until his death. Logue recovers from his own illness to write to the Queen, mourning the loss of her husband. Princess Elizabeth is crowned Queen Elizabeth II. Logue dies in 1953 as a result of kidney failure. He does not survive to see Elizabeth’s coronation, though he is invited.
“The King’s Speech” the director was able to make the story fluid and flowing. The actor Colin Firth (King George VI “Bertie”) was very credible, because for me acting is not easy while slamming and be able to communicate emotions to the spectator. The movie soundtrack is able to involve the spectator, provoking the same emotions as the characters. When Bertie said that “No. Certainly not. Always wanted to build models. Father wouldnt allow it. He collected stamps. I had to collect stamps”. Building models is a sign of everything Bertie had to miss out on because of his strict upbringing. As a middle aged man, he still yearns to do the things he missed growing up, and his stutter seems to hang around whenever he brings up his childhood deprivation. Lionel Logue even manages to use a model airplane to bribe Bertie into singing a tune for him, sayang, “Logue: Well, as a little reward, you get to put some glue on these struts”. The fact that Bertie agrees just shows how much of a hold those early childhood memories still have on him. And the fact that Lionel Ligue is conscious of Bertie’s childhood deprivations and uses childhoood activities as an incentive for Bertie to keep talking showcases just how much of an excellent, nurturing Lionel is. Microphones might be the most important symbol in this movie, because they symbolize the transition from the old into the new world of mass media. Through the microphone, the speeches of kings are able to reach every citizen in the British Empire. In the past, most British subjects would have never heard the King’s voice. Or as King George V puts it, “King George V: This devilish device will charge everything if you won’t. In the past all a King had to do was look respectable in uniform and not fall of his horse.” In the old days, Bertie could have gone his whole life as king without worry much about his stutter. But in the modern world, he has to give speeches into microphones and he can feel the whole world judging him. His handlers keep telling him that “Let the microphone do the work, sir.”

My model of communication is called Mujeres, 2020. For the explanation of my model is that, before the people say something or to do something, there will be another people that will always listen to you and on what u are planning to do. Now, the audience (people) will keep on talking and talking in front of you until it can lead to misinterpretation or misunderstandings. Before the actions will follow the audience must understand what the speaker is saying, and now if the audience clearly understands the situation then it will be followed by the actions. Then the receiver of the information will told the group of another people of what the speaker is saying.

I can tell from this video that Jimmy Nelson is tough man, hardworking, he never give up on what he has started and he really love his job even though there is a lot of story behind his job. I can see it on his face that he is so very excited and happy to share his experiences, thoughts, and ideas through his journey. I also noticed that he talks fast, that someone is approaching to him but still I am very inspired and proud about everything he shared to his audience. The audience were also very happy and they listened carefully about his story it’s like Jimmy Nelson is like a father that sharing stories to his children. He even shared his story about how he started his career, that when he woke up and looked at the mirror he didn’t know that if it was him, like he didn’t recognized his self and people were looking at him and he even tell them that he is “Jimmy Nelson” but they didnt trust him because of his appearance. He ran far away, then he read the book about “Tintin in Tibet” because the boy in that story is kinda look like him, that he is looking for his empathy and asked himself “who am I?” again and again and got lost in his journey. He didn’t give up but to start his another journey again and then he got inspired by “Edward S. Curtis” the man he looked up to. The story of Jimmy Nelson amazed me because throughout his journey he learned something that communicating to someone is very important. Genuine conversations where deeper bonds are formed it is the time where both of you become honest to each other. He really did a great job, I am speechless but overall I am really amazed and impressed about his story, not only his story and job but also as a person and his journey as well.

“Too have a good relation, one must have good communication”. Today’s pandemic we are not really allowed to go outside the house because its for our own safe. But I have learned that having bond with your parents and friends is also a good a way to have a good relation, because we know that before the pandemic we are like kinda busy going outside the house, doing something that its like we dont have time to talk or bond with our family and friends and sometimes we are busy with our phones, social medias. Sometimes, many people nowadays are having depression, problems, and etc. Which is why good communication with someone is important because we are there for him/her to help, to solve his/her problems and to comfort them.
