Marathahalli: An urban village
Marthahalli is a locality situated in the south eastern outskirt of Bangalore and lies adjacent to the campus of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, which earlier functioned at the airport for the city. It is surrounded by Doddenakundi to its north, Kundalahalli and Brookefield to its east and Kadubeesanahalli on the south.
It was not until the late 1990s that this sleepy village located in the city鈥檚 outskirts transformed into a self sufficient neighborhood following the explosion of IT in the city. Its close proximity to HAL Airport, Whitefield, Sarjapur Road and Electronic city and the presence of the Outer Ring Road (ORR), has made this locality a most sought after place.
The National Highway 7 runs through Marathahalli. The outer ring road is a pleasure to drive through as there are absolutely no signals. The ORR also allows someone in Marthahalli to reach Bangalore almost effortlessly. The Bangalore international airport is situated 46 km from Marathahalli through the ORR and Bangalore Hyderabad Highway. The nearest railway station from Marathahalli is located at KR Puram which is at a distance of 11 km from this micro market.
Marthahalli is a combination of being a hotspot of residences, commerce and industries making it all the more versatile. It is one of the earliest developed localities in Bengaluru. During weekends, a modest village in suburban Bangalore is abuzz with activity. There isn't a single make of automobile available in India that cannot be sighted there. Welcome to Marathahalli, the "off price/ outlet mall" of Bangalore, where scores of well-known manufacturers have factory outlets of popular brand names like Lee, Levis, Woodland, Fila, Puma, and so on. Bangalore鈥檚 first ever Multiplex known as the Innovative Multiplex is located in this area.
Apart from being the IT hub and final destination for shoppers, Marathahalli is well connected to its roots and this can be witnessed through various places of worship present here. Anjaneya Swamy Temple, Hanuman Temple, Hebron church, St. George Jacobite Syriac Orthodox Church, Ganesh Temple, Krishna Bhagwan Temple, El-Bethel AG Church, Maranatha Worship Centre, Eid Gah Masjid and Masjid-E-Marathahalli are some of them.聽
A large number of apartments have also come up in this area. Over the last few years, there has been a significant change in the education sector. Schools in Marathahalli provide customized learning experience for the students depending on their capabilities.
Narayana E-techno school, MVJ International School, Air Force School, Orchids International school, Indian Public school, Ravindra Bharathi Global school,Royal English School are some of well-established schools in this region.聽
The Outer Ring Road connects the locality with Banashankari and Hebbal. The area has become very popular amongst those who are working in the IT sector and also with investors who are looking at good rental returns as well as capital returns.聽
The focus has already shifted from Whitefield to Marthahalli and this is proven by the increasing number of real estate opportunities here. So buying an Apartment in Marthahalli would definitely be a choice that you wouldn鈥檛 regret in a lifetime.
