i walk a fine line between “i’m asexual and i hate how much the world revolves around sex” and “sex is way too stigmatized and people should be able to be more open about it if they want to”

I knitted a pair of leg warmers!
Some details under the cut
The leg warmers are knitted flat on 4 mm circular needles. I used two different stitches: the 2 by 2 rib for the top and bottom of the leg warmer and the stockinette stitch for the main body.

I used a little over 100 grams of color changing yarn to make both leg warmers. (Sidenote: I had no idea how the color changes were going to look before I started knitting so it was a pleasant surprise that the leg warmers turned out striped!)

Dude Jet Pack Blues is one of my favourite songs like I love it so much. The lyrics the fact that the beginning is soft but the chorus hits HARD I love Jet Pack Blues
ME FUCKIN TOO!! patrick's delivery is always fantastic but esp in jpb like...the sadness of the first verse and then he busts in with the chorus and it's louder and he's angry but the loudness isn't jarring with the rest of the song and still fits so well, and then keeps up with the almost like, quiet frustration in his voice in the second verse and pre chorus and he goes back to being mad in the chorus, then when he gets to the bridge he sounds so dejected and like he's lost all the fight in him and they he goes right back to the chorus like one last hurrah and then the song ends just with that ...god it is such a good song and wow i probably paid way too much attention to his vocals lmao. i feel like it really shows off his and petes dynamic as well bc like, the delivery of a line really makes it but then again, when the line is good you want to give it the delivery it deserves and that's what patrick does bc petes lyrics are so good!! but also patricks voice and delivery is so good that it makes petes lyrics even better and wow this went off track

the martian novel believes so strongly in hope that i never once considered that mark wouldn’t be rescued. from day 1 page 1 it was a given and i don't know why. i can't put my finger on it. i don't think it can entirely be chalked up to the humorous tone of the book bc there are tragicomedies out there that silly their way into an inevitably doomed ending. i think there's something about the book itself existing that presupposes mark's survival. even if the blurb on the back of the book is like 'will he survive?' that's not what the book is about. it's about how he'll survive. because even when he doesn't think he'll last or earth's rescue attempts blow up, we the readers just know he's going to make it. i think somehow the presupposed outcome is in the nature of a problem-solving book. i don't know how to explain this but i think andy weir's dedication to scientific accuracy is what promises mark's survival. unrealistic hope built on technical realism. you can tell he wrote the book from a framework of 'mark is going to survive. how do i realistically get him there' instead of 'would a person feasibly be able to survive on mars'. if it were less believable it would be less hopeful. can anybody hear me

This is an insane day for people who got into theatre by randomly coming across bootlegs of this show called wicked on a then-emerging video sharing site called YouTube in like 2006-2007 and were compelled by the lesbianism between the leads
