a fond smile appears across her lips seeing the familiar face who stopped by her table. it’s been a while since she last saw her and was hoping that she was feeling much better since the last time they interacted. “aw, darn.” she frowns ever so slightly before her next words causes a small laughter to fall from her lips as her eyes brighten. “wonderful idea, i’ll be sure to extend my invite to kai. i’m sure if cieran tags along, i could convince kai to do so as well!” her hand points towards the empty chair, “i’m sure you have lots of things to do, but if you want you can sit and keep me company?” 

she lightly pouts before letting a smile take over her features, “trust me if it was any other time i would so tag along. i love those types of events.” she said before shaking her head a light laugh escaping her, “i have it on good authority that kai totally wants to hang with you.” she said an innocent smile taking over her features before she nodded moving to take a seat, “yeah i have some time i can sit and keep you company of course.” she said moving to wrap both of her hands around the cup of coffee, “how are things going? with school and everything?”

he squints his eyes as he glances over towards her before bursting out into laughter as he shakes his head, “yeah, no… i don’t see that at all. i see little horns growing at the temples of your head.” he teases her, full effect grin plastered across his lips before quirking a brow at her words, “now, how are you so sure that you don’t make people cry?” leaning against the couch, he adjusted the way he was sitting, so he was fully facing her now as he nods his head, “yeah, grinch you isn’t great. i know from first hand experience. it’s not my fault! you could of totally went around me, from the looks of my face you should of known i wasn’t fully there.” he pointed out, defensively while playfully rolling his eyes. it was crazy how things changes overtime, the two of them were definitely in much better terms now. “you having no inspiration definitely isn’t my fault, do you always take out your anger on people?” he asks curiously while shaking his head. the soft small smile remains upon his face as he nods his head, “it’ll be a shame if you did shut down, although, i’m kinda glad to be the person to bring you out and open a bit even if you’d much rather prefer someone else.” he shrugs his shoulders, knowing that they weren’t the closest of friends – if they can even call each other that, but things looked better for the two, especially after today. “i don’t think you’ll ever get some sense of normalcy as long as you’re famous,” he points out, before chuckling, “but did it help? moving here and all?” chad felt the need to question. “did he not want you to move over here?” he didn’t know what it was like to grow up with a big family, for as long as he known he was the only offspring of his parents. “yeah, no doubt about that.” as she shares the memory, his smile grows just a bit, “that sounds really nice… when was the last time all four of you guys been like that?” 

isabella smiled rolling her eyes playfully sitting up straighter, “and i wear them proudly.” she said her smile growing as said so. she looked at him before lifting her shoulders some before she pursed her lips, “i don’t but i hope i don’t make people cry. like in a bad way if like a fan cries because i hug them i’m okay with that kind of crying.” she said as she looks at chad. smiling softly she shook her head, “grinch me is a whole other personality. you got in the way of a girl and her coffee at least now you know not to.” she laughed lightly, “neither one of us was totally there so its both our faults.” she said as she thought back on their first meeting the whole situation laughable at this time knowing they started this whirlwind of a friendship. shaking her head she sighed, “you’re right, me not having inspiration isn’t your fault but i only took my anger out on you because again in the way of my one true love and i.” she said shaking her head again, “and no i don’t usually take my anger out on people, despite our weird friendship. i know the right buttons to press with you but i don’t ever mean to be super angry with you.” she said softly letting out a breath. glancing down at her fingers she sighed, “it would have been terrible if i shut down.. especially in public... and i’m really glad it was you that i could just break even a little, chad.” she said softly before looking back over at him. scrunching up her nose she shook her head, “no i don’t think so either but it was worth a shot after movie after movie.” she said nodding a bit, “it helped a bit i mean i could hide away if i wanted to you know?” then she shook her head her nose scrunching a bit, “no he didn’t we always were in some sort of same vicinity growing up and he always watched over me and when i said i was moving across the country it was like some kind of flip switched he assumed i wasn’t the little girl anymore that needed her brothers.” she said lifting her shoulders a bit. looking from chad to her lap she let out a sigh before moving to lean her head against the palm of her head, “it was nice.. we haven’t been like that since before my mom d-” she paused shaking her head, “before she left.”

“please, i’m just saving my ass when it comes to your professional side,” she jokes with her, laughing ever so slightly before looking over towards her with a soft smile, “i’m your common sense when it leaves the room and i adore you to pieces,” she tells the other, smile growing. the smile upon her face drops at her words as she rolls her eyes, “shut up, don’t repeat it, i don’t wanna hear it.” she mumbles covering her ears as she pretends to gag. “very hard, i’m trying so hard not to throw up right now,” serenity admits as she shutters making a face as she blows out a breath. “oh, you can tell me it happened, just spare me the details.” bringing her legs towards her chest, she nibbles on her bottom lip as she sighs shrugging her shoulders, “there’s nothing crazy about it. i mean, you can’t really stop attraction, now can you?” 

“but of course you are.” she laughed lightly shaking her head as she looked down for a moment before letting out a sigh. looking back over at serenity a smile on her lips giving a nod, “you truly are. who knew i was the one that needed that.” she teased before she laughed shaking her head, “you’re the one who said it first though!” she said through her laughter shaking her head some, “oh my god. i’m shocked you suggested it though.” she said looking at the girl, “okay will tell you without telling you because we can’t have you all earless.” she teased shaking her head some. blowing out a breath she lifts her shoulder, “i mean you could try.. it’s just not weird but like unexpected.”

he shakes his head, eyes falling upon her, “i don’t think that’s true… i feel like your brothers will still be over protective over you no matter what, maybe they just need some time to process the whole thing as well?” he responds thoughtfully, knowing it must be just as a surprise to them to find out their their mother is actually alive and well. “then do that… pretend this isn’t happening, but you’re going to have to face it one way or another.” he admits, making a face at the other, it was bond to happen. “she also seems like the type to get shit done, i like that. although, i think i prefer to have her as a friend,” kai looks over towards her impressed as he grins at her. “that is definitely a step to getting you to leave that. but i do see you already slowly leaving the anti-social club, i mean you’re opening up to more people.” 

she gives a small shrug before nodding, “you’re probably right.. i don’t know i guess i never really thought about it that way or i didn’t want to think of it that way since they all are in the same place dealing with it together and i’m just here.” she sighed pushing her hand over her face before blowing out a breath. nodding she looked over at kai for a moment, “or.. i can do the opposite and move out of my place and just pretend my life didn’t blow up.” she said pointing over at him knowing very well she wouldn’t do that as she spoke the words. nodding her head then at their lighter conversation she smiled, “she does get shit done she’s truly wonder woman.. what scared she’ll bite your head off when she’s mad too?” she teased then with a smile before shaking her head some. she snorts, “i’m not going to lie i think you’re going to have to thank chad for that one.. maybe even kalani too i remember when there was only one person i would open up to now people just buried themselves in my life...”

there was a small laugh that escaped passed isabella nodding her head, “trust me i completely get that. i have no idea how people just used to be okay with waiting weeks on end for a package to arrive. i have no patience when it comes to things like that.” she said with a shake of her head.

nodding softly in return to the femme, she offers her own small laugh and takes a long drink from the cup in her hand before she speaks again. ❝ it's one of the best things in existence. i'm not even certain anymore about how i got along without it, especially as impatient as i can be. ❞

kalani had been busy as ever trying to contain her work load to a minimum. scrolling through her emails, she received a message from her pr manager reminding her about upcoming events. glancing up, she nibbles on her bottom lip, “hey, so i got invited to new york fashion week and i have a few spare tickets if you’d like to go?” she offers, sending the other a soft smile as she pulls out the envelopes from her bag. 

isabella had managed to grab a coffee before she had seen kalani and wanted to quickly say hi. she was still in her stressed out point of her life but she also was trying to surround herself with people she cared about. when she stopped at the table she smiled softly as the other glanced up at her her words causing her to pause, “as much as i really want to say yes i think i’m going to be out of town for fashion week with mini pop up tours and such.” she said wrinkling up her nose, “but i do think you should torture kai and drag him along. i know he’d love to go to those events.”

“rebelling, hm? i don’t see that in you.” chad tries to joke as he squints his eyes at the other before bursts on laughter erupts from the pit of his stomach. “but you totally are like an onion, you make people cry once you peal back some layers,” he jokes once again, in a defensive voice as he looks over towards her, eyes twinkling in amusement. “yeah, you got that right.. you haven’t been recently, which is strange… but i kinda like it? and it’s not my fault i was a total zombie and needed coffee myself. i wasn’t aware of my surroundings and it totally felt like i was sleep walking.” he knew his job could be tiring due to the hours, which often resulted in him not being a morning person and when he was up early he felt as if he wasn’t really awake. “and were you stress that morning?” he inquires, rising a brow seeing if she really remembered what was going on in her life the moment the two unpleasantly met one another. “like i said you don’t have to keep saying you’re sorry, it’s fine… and it’s not good to keep everything bottled up, even if you think otherwise. i’m glad that you didn’t shut down.” he tells her in a soft tone, sending her a light smile. “do you think so?” his eyes lands upon the other as she glances down at her lap before looking back over towards him. “which is why you come over here to get into hiding, right?” he didn’t want to feel like he was invading on her by asking multiple questions, but as long as she was opening up, he was going to take what he could. “not even to visit?” at her following words, he shakes his head, “no, you’re definitely bossy, but hey as long as you get shit done.” he laughs, putting his hands up in defense before crossing them over his chest watching as she remembers her favorite moment. a warm smile appears as he nods his head, “sounds like a wonderful memory.” 

her brows furrowed looking over at him, “really? you can’t tell me you thought i was this prim and proper following all the rules type of girl.” she said shaking her head before her jaw drops, “excuse you... that’s rude i don’t make people cry.” she said before she laughs meeting his eyes. lifting her shoulders some she leaned her head in her hand, “i don’t know i guess i tried something new.. got tired of being grumpy when i have some kind of good things in my life right now. it’s totally your fault you and your zombie state really blocked me from getting my coffee we both we’re in need of coffee.” she said shaking her head at the memory of their first meeting thinking how so much had changed in that bit of time. taking a deep breath and letting it out she gave a nod, “i’m always stressed.. i was on a deadline for the album and was supposed to at least have two more songs written but had no inspiration..” she sighed looking over at him again, “you just happened to be the unlucky soul that got that wrath of no coffee in me isabella.” she smiled softly before nodding her eyes trained on her lap for the moment as she speaks “i know.. i’m learning to not bottle stuff up and talk about it.. i’m glad i didn’t shut down either..” she said right before looking back up at him at his next question her shoulder lifting slightly, “i hope so..” she said softly almost quietly. licking her lips she nods a bit, “yeah thats exactly it.. to get a sense of normalcy for just a bit or at least try to you know?” she didn’t feel as though he was forcing her to answer anything and right now for some odd reason she wanted to tell him anything he asked. shaking her head a bit she blew out a breath, “when i essentially flew the nest my older brother and i fought and haven’t talked since.. i guess i just stayed to this side of the country and he stays over there..” she answers before rolling her eyes playfully. “i always get shit done.” she says but shakes her head. looking down at her hands as she recalls the memory she smiles softly nodding a bit before she glances back at him her eyes meeting his, “it was.. it was like the first time all four of us really were united as one.. i mean before it was them having me ask if we could get a puppy because i got everything i asked for or them having me ask if we could stay up longer than we were allowed but when i was nervous and frozen on stage my brothers were there to make a fool of themselves without me having to ask..”

there were a handful of people in her life that she would do anything for, even break her own moral codes. she like to believe that they’d do the same for her, “you bet your ass that i would. i’m always here willing to help whether it’s as your friend or as your pr manager.” she states, returning the soft smile. serenity scrunches up her face as she shutters at the thought trying to not gag as those words left her lips, “possibly? i mean… there’s nothing wrong with fucking shit out.” she responds, cringing at herself once more. “good or else i’ll have to pull a van gogh and cut my ear off,” she jokes making a face once more as she blows out a small breath. “then there’s definitely something there… and your heart just won’t let you explore it.” 

smiling softly isabella nodded, “i know you are and i’m really grateful for all of it. as the professional side keeping me from making stupid mistakes to being my friend during all this crazy.” she said looking over at the girl, “even if your advice is to fuck it out with chad.” she added trying to keep a serious look on her face before she laughed, “i really want to know how hard it is for you to say this to me.” she wondered aloud glancing away shaking her head, “i promise if it happens i won’t give you any details. i won’t even tell you it happened.” she said shaking her head looking at her lap for a second becoming very interested in a loose thread on her leggings, “is that crazy?... because it’s chad?” she asked softly.

“they’re willing to save you from all the hurt when it comes to other things, but not when it comes to your guys’ mom? it doesn’t make sense to me…” kai respectfully tries to states as he gives her a shrug, his lips pressed into a tight line. running a hand through his blonde locks once more, he shakes his head, “i wonder what’s going through her mind… because it all just sucks a whole lot. i don’t blame you for not wanting any part of her especially since it seems that she doesn’t know the affect that she left on all of you.” he chuckles slightly as he nods his head, “i’d definitely take her on as my pr manager if i didn’t already have one assigned to me. she definitely has talent.” kai rises a brow at the female’s words before smiling, “i think lani is very good at having heart to hearts with… she definitely helped me with some of my own shit… and no it might not make you forget, but it could help you through it all.” 

she gave a small nod before blowing out a breath, “i guess i grew up and out of the must protect her phase.” she she shrugged tilting her head back just a bit for a moment her eyes closing for the briefest seconds before sitting straighter, “right now i don’t even want to find out.. i just want to pretend she doesn’t exist again and just be happy i don’t want to slip back into grumpy me that everyone knows.” she mutters running her hand down her face before blowing out another breath and shaking her head free of all the negative thoughts for the moment. smiling softly she nods, “i wouldn’t even blame you if you did. she’s sort of great. best pr manager/friend i could ever ask for.” she smiled softly then looked over at kai a chuckle passing through her, “i know its not going to make me forget if i have a heart to heart but maybe it’s a step in getting me to leave the anti-social club.”

serenity knew that the other was grateful for her, just like she was grateful to have her in her life as well. she might of been her sister’s friend at first, but the more she hung out with the family, the closer the two did and she was happy that was the case. a soft smile appears across her lips as she thanked her, with a simple shake of her hand and a wave of her hand, “no need to thank me, you’re basically family. there’s nothing i wouldn’t do for you.” she responds truthfully, her smile growing just a tad more. her eyes fell upon the other, pausing for a split second as she tries to wrap her head around the whole situation. blowing out a breath, she rubs her face slightly. “i hate to say this… but maybe you just need to fuck it out?” as soon as the words came out, she cringed at herself. “if you go through it, i don’t want you to give me any details, gross…” she shutters at the thought before sighing, “the second option might be less scary, but how would you know for sure?” 

even when serenity told her not to thank her isabella still did because the girl had easily become like a younger sister figure in her life and helped keep her career on track and it was hard to find someone like that in her life, “still i know you would do anything if i needed the help and i appreciate that.” she smiled softly. sitting up straighter then she looked at serenity eyes wide her head tilting just a little bit an amused look starting to take over her features, “you’re suggesting to fuck it out?” she laughed lightly shaking her head looking up as she did so, “there will be no details.” she said with another shake of her head then gives a small shrug, “i don’t know i never... i never let myself open like that.”

“it’s your body though, you should be able to do whatever it is that you want with it… plus you’re a grown adult… i mean you were when you got it done right?” he inquires, wondering when she actually got the tattoo. he takes in her mannerism as he sucks in a breath before blowing it out slowly, “yeah, you’re not too bad once you peel back a few layers.” he teases her, trying to get a smile out of the other before rolling his eyes. “you totally are the grinch! you were so grumpy the day we met. where did the rude isabella go? is she in hiding?” he jokes with her, grin spreading across his lips as the words left his lips. another eye roll as he shakes his head, “that wasn’t a tad bit warming up, you practically told me everything… so i say it’s huge and we might fall back, but that’s just who we are.” he shrugs his shoulders, already used to the hot and cold friendship – if he can even call it that, that the two shared. “you might of signed up for it, but you didn’t sign up for the personal invasion.” he points out, giving her a look knowing that it could be annoying how many people dive deep into her life and try to expose things about her. “did? does that mean that you guys no longer have the couch? did it finally break on you guys? one too many spills?” he questions, although the tone of his voice was teasing as he tries to fight a smile that was already forming across his lips. “but you are a bossy wife and you know it. i only tell the truth.” chad mutters, which of course was a lie. he thinks about it for a split second before deciding to go with something simple, something that would make her smile, “what’s your favorite memory as a child?” 

smiling softly isabella shakes her head, “i was seventeen when i got my first tattoo. i was a legal adult when i got my second but not when i got my first i was rebelling then.” she shook her head at the memory of it all a soft smile taking over her features. shaking her head she playfully rolled her eyes but then eventually gave a nod her smile growing just a bit, “if you’re going to compare me to an onion i may just need to rethink this whole showing my layers.” she said almost teasingly before she chuckled, “i haven’t been that much of a grinch recently though! i’ve been really good. when we met you got in the way of my one true love it’s not my fault you blocked my coffee.” she said shaking her head, “and give me a stressful moment i can tell you rude isabella may just make an appearance... even if i’m really trying not to be,” she said before rolling her eyes, “i’m sorry i exploded.. i hit a breaking point it was either break down the walls i had or you watch me shut down...” she lifted her shoulder as she spoke, “but who knows if we fall back... could be a new turned over leaf..” she said softly looking down at her lap as she thought about it before she looked up and over to chad. lifting her shoulders again she blew out a breath, “i do know that.. i mean yeah my mom leaving was a big part of me becoming this closed off person but the personal invasion also didn’t help when i wanted to keep to myself.” she shook her head some hating that part of her job only. she adored her fans and they meant the world to her but there were times she just wanted to be normal. making a face she shook her head, “i don’t know if they got rid of it once i left and flew from the nest but once that couch was out of my sights i didn’t look back and i haven’t gone back to my dads house in LA.” she answered nose scrunching up a bit, “i wasn’t a bossy wife when we went out though! i was very very nice! i don’t think i’m bossy i just get shit done.” she said laughing moving to cross her legs under her as she faced chad pausing for a moment a smile taking over her features, “my first dance recital. i was four or five maybe and i remember i was so scared to go out on stage with the other kids in my class and my two older brothers jumped up from their seats and ran in front of the stage, i’m pretty sure my younger brother followed right behind them, and mimicked the entire dance in front of everyone just so i wouldn’t be nervous because my brothers were right there trying to make me smile even when i was scared..” she laughed lightly, “i remember my mom making the older boys go to my next dance class and take the class as some sort of punishment for disrupting the show.”

listening to her family aspect, he realizes how different it was compared to him and his siblings. letting out a small sigh he glances over towards her, “i would’ve thought that they’d help you through this as well, especially since you all been through it together growing up. that fucking sucks.” he says with a shake of his head. it was the decent thing to do, help her with the whole situation instead of having her deal with it alone. licking his lips, he lets out a sigh blue hues never leaving the other’s face as he listens to her, “sounds like it was nice… i don’t understand why she did this to you.” he admits, it must of been rough for isabella growing up without her mom when she was closest to her. “she still has to understand that what she put you through isn’t normal, right? like there has to be some part of her that knew that that shit was uncalled for.” kai mutters, feeling for the girl. a chuckle falls from his lips at their lighter conversation as he hums lightly. “it’s crazy how she could easily flip to professional if she needed to.” he muses with as he laughs, clearly in awed by the female. “but her joyfulness could help you forget about things!” he exclaims like it was the most obvious thing in the world. 

she let out a dry chuckle nodding her head before she glanced up for just a second, “you would think that, right? but at the same time i guess i expected it when i they said they’ll deal with it later. they basically kept me safe from all the hurt so guess it’s time pay my dues.” she said with a small shrug before glancing back to kai. her eyes meeting his she gave a small smile nodding her head a bit, “yeah it was nice … until i woke up to a note.” she shook her head before bringing a hand to run over her face letting out a soft sigh, “some part of me hopes she does realize what she did was fucked up but with her staying at the house and not leaving when i told her to another part of me thinks she doesn’t realize how fucked this situation is.” she shook her head. smiling softly she shook her head, “it wows even me i mean switching that flip is so impressive.” isabella then laughs lightly shaking her head, “i can’t believe these words are about to leave my mouth… but maybe i’ll take that figuring out my feelings talk with kalani.” she sighs, “won’t making me forget about things but it could help.”
