In the oil studio today working on this one, finally finished the whole pattern! Now landscaping 😉👩🏻‍🎨🤓

I’m delighted that local established artist Sheryl Budnik is collecting this original 10x14” painting of mine! 😻 It’s inspired by New Zealand’s landscape and Maori culture. Busy at work on this pattern, which indeed feels odd but somehow grounding too, painting it again 2 yrs later 😂 Now I can control the colors and mistakes more, since I’m using oil instead of gouache. 🤓👩🏻‍🎨 Pink is done so finishing up the last main color, a muted dark sage today. Dark outlines last, to make it all pop! Then on to the seascape 😌 (at Michigan)

All setup and jumping back into this one, some may recognize bc it’s the canvas I started days before leaving for New Zealand back in Sept 2016. I then painted a whole new watercolor & gouache (nomad version) down under, to see it thru 🤓 Now I’ve decided to finish this oil canvas as well, it’s easing my foray back into the medium by providing me the opportunity to jump back in after 7 months of traveling without oils, without feeling like i’ve missed as much of a beat😻👩🏻‍🎨 The landscape is in Haifa, Israel on the mediterranean, with a vintage Israeli rug pattern in the sky. 🎨🖌✨ (at Michigan)
