This is exactly how I’ve been feeling. People get in their heads trying to explain stuff (believe me, I’m a victim of this too) and coin 50 terms to make themselves feel better. Stop. You’re making something that’s deeply personal and you into something so over-explained. Let it be wild and free. You don’t need labels..you don’t need someone on Tumblr or TikTok telling you what this or that means…you don’t need someone in your inbox telling you that you’re right or wrong.

I will agree with Therian Confessions on this one. The community is becoming more like a fandom than its original purpose. It feels so disingenuous most of the time lol I’m sick of it

I've been stepping away from the Alterhuman community and it's making me think that 80% of the distress people may feel over understanding their identity goes away if you stop just spiraling over it by constantly questioning every why and how.

Honestly I think it's a thing I miss from old blogs where a lot of what was shared was mostly active experiences, aka, idk "I have a prey drive. I went on a mountain retreat with friends and processed rabbits we caught. This was a deeply spiritual experience and gratifying to my carnivore instincts" instead of "I confirmed marten because otter was 9% wrong on Vibes and I think my DNA is not human because I feel bad in my body. Here are 12 words I coined for my very specific precise experience of it." or other things that are more... Describing oneself without ever stepping outside of your own identity to actually experience things.

Maybe this makes no sense. I just think a lot of what the Tumblr nonhuman community amounts to rn is kinda paradoxical and ridiculous, especially with therians, because it's just a bunch of over thinking and no acting. Like no wonder you feel dysphoric about being an animal you've spent the last fucking 10h spiraling in your own head about deeply human concepts watching a deeply human screen. Tear apart a pomegranate with your teeth you'll feel better. Jesus. Put some enrichment in that beast.

Another spino post for today

I had another shift and a memory in the shower. Big aquatic tail, big snout, big claws. The works.

My memory (past life?) was in the long reeds beside a river bank. It was a bit muddy too. I was lying down and the mud clung to my lower jaw. Dirty water lapping at my feet. It was pretty peaceful 10/10

I'd rather create a discord server since there's more to do there, but I'd be happy with a regular GC here as well! I've managed discord servers in the past so I know how to make servers that are actually engaging and will open up discussion (since I know this has been an issue in the past with other Nonhuman servers) but I don't know who'd be interested in joining!

If a discord server is made, there will be: art prompts, game events, maayybeee a Minecraft server? Daily question events, a space to share one's alterhumanity, and much more!

So this not a normal lycanthrope post

I think I had a spinosauridae shift in the shower. I felt the water drip down my snout and down my claws. I could feel a huge heavy tail behind me and power, strong legs. I didn’t really feel a back sail however. I felt almost crocodilian, but larger and not tethered to my belly. It was pretty coolio.

Idk if it’s just my brain tricking me into that (I have been playing a lot of JW Evolution 2) but oh well. We’ll see if it happens again!!!
