Hey, Lore, I was watching DS9 the other day and I had a thought. Did the Dominion know of the Borg? Or conversely, did the Borg know of the Dominion? It would seem the Borg would, considering the vast array of species they've gobbled up. At least one of them would know of the Dominion. So it made me wonder, were the Borg out there harassing the Dominion? Or did they just ignore them? What do you think?
We actually talked about this for the ReWrite. Logically both powers HAVE to know about each other, but there's zero acknowledgement. We came up with our own answer, but in canon I'd say the Borg just don't care about the Dominion and the Dominion are too arrogant to realize the threat the Borg presents.

Lore, did you hear about the Romulans being basically immune to Borg assimilation? It seems to come from some talk from Picard writers and from the origin of the Cube that the Romulans have. Since the Borg assimilated Romulans & the Cube became unstable causing the Borg cut ties with that Cube. So now there talk of the Romulans being immune because of their severe hatred of artificial life and A.I. Thoughts?
That's... not the stupidest thing I've ever heard about in Trek, though I guess that's not saying much.

Lore, you have been selected to take part in a cultural exchange program. As such you are given a choice of where you wish to go. You can live with: A) old EU Tuskans, B) the Yuzhon Vong, C) the Dark Eldar, D) Species 8472, or E) the Hutts. Whom do you choose and why?
Hutts. They at least have a cultural mentality I can understand and use. And are the least horrible.

Hey, I noticed you drink plenty of water during your streams. Do you use bottled water? Or do you use one of those tap water filters? Or just get the water straight from the tap?
I use a combination of a filter and bottled. Bottled is more for "emergencies" or filler, the filter is the majority.

You're sitting at the bar, drinking a Canada Dry, and George freaking Lucas comes and sits down next to you and orders a drink. What do you two talk about?
Oh, cinematography, easily. Camera types, usage of camera, lighting, stuff like that.

I have what might be a complicated question... been working on a character who is a Type 3b Undead and aside from the very beginning, spends most of the narrative as a skeleton. my intention is for him to "grow" into a Type 4 but still be a skeleton. may I know your thoughts on a Type 3b developing into a Type 4?
In my mind something external would have to be there to provide the support for that eventual development. Which is fine of course, it could be a gradual thing (like living in proximity to a source of magic or mana, or maybe regularly interacting with an artifact without realizing it) and over time that allows for said development.

If you were in a position where you needed there help, who would you trust more? The Outsider or Gaunter O'Dimm?
The Outsider is less malevolent, but simply interacting with him is damning. O'Dimm is far more messed up but also fair in his own way. I'd probably take neither, but if you put a gun to my head I'd go with O'Dimm. At least simply interacting with him isn't damning.

Setting aside the fact that pirates don't make great governments, would you be willing to side with Furrante in PoE2 if he did not try to aid the slavers?
Yes, absolutely.

Phantom Menace rewrite: Anakin refuses to leave his mother on Tattooine, but Shmi DEMANDS that Qui-Gon take him after the refusal. A kind of 'You are my son and I love you, and I don't care if you want to stay or not, you are NOT going to grow up a slave on this backwater planet.' And Anakin would have to be physically dragged away from his mom. Your thoughts on this?
I like it, a lot actually. But I don't think it would ultimately change much after the event itself. It WOULD make the departure better though.

Lore, have you ever considered trying out one those sensory deprivation chambers?
Good lord, no. That'd drive me bonkers.

Lord I’m sure you’ve explained this before so apologies but how does your “golden number” scoring system work?
The basic idea is to take the final scores and go through a lot of calculations to interpret the final 'score' of a game. Density, length, percentage of positive points, variance between gameplay and story, all this stuff is weighted and applied to get our final number. It's undergone a couple revisions but I'm pretty happy with the current system.

Does it ever bother you sometimes in stealth games how 'alerts' are counted? Say in Dishonored a guard sees you, but a second later you shoot him in the head with a crossbow. He tells no one, and any eye witness evidence he could have had dies with him. For all intents and purposes it is exactly the same if corvo sneaked up behind him and stabbed him. Shouldn't these be counted the same way, or am I just thinking about it too much?
From a personal perspective I like having that distinction there... as in, in a way that's part of a personal challenge. I failed to avoid being seen but no alert went up. That being said, when that causes a fail state in the mission (looking at you, Assassin's Creed) that's just frustrating.

What do you think about the idea of The Matrix being a trans allegory?
So I'll admit I've never heard this stated as such, rather I usually hear that the Matrix is an allegory for identity. Now, I don't think this was the original intent for RL reasons (behind the scenes, etc.) but I think it grew into that over the franchise's history. Being forced to wear a mask of who you aren't because of nameless, faceless masses, the vague idea of a system of control you can't even fight against, vs. the freeing concept of being truly yourself? Yeah, I can see that.

So Hope is now attached to you. He follows you around forever and you cannot possibly get rid of him. But Gaunter O'Dimm shows up, and says he'll get ride of Hope for you. The only cost (no other fine print trickery) is that he'll get ride of Hope by dropping him in a xenomorph pit. If you refuse, well Hope sticks by your side forever. Do you take the deal?
Absolutely not. Hope's an irritating little snot but I'm not dropping him into xenomorphs.

Lore, who would be worse to have as an enemy and actively angry with you, Q or O'Dimm?
Oh Q, easy answer. O'Dimm would be more creative and arguably 'worse', but Q wouldn't let go of the grudge and wouldn't be satisfied anytime soon.

Lore, what do you think of the line “I don’t care WHAT galaxy youre from, thats GOTTA hurt!” from the Phantom Menace?
I mean it's not THE worst line in the movie.

Memes aside, who in your opinion is the real evil of the franchise (and by that I mean the first two films) Weyland Yutani, or the Alien?
Weyland Yutani. Memes aside, the Alien is just an arguably non-sentient parasite. Weyland Yutani are... evil.
