Meeting Your Parents Headcanons

Characters: Eren Jaeger

Eren Jaeger:

- you and Eren had been together for a pretty long time actually. you've been together for about 2 years, and you felt like it was important to introduce him to your parents.

- you had already met Grisha and Carla, so what would be the issue?

- when you asked Eren about it he totally freaked out. he's never met anyone from your family before and he was scared to make a bad impression, this man was having a whole panic attack about it in the living room.

- he finally gave in after you convinced him he had nothing to worry about.

- he'd overthink A TON he keeps thinking that you're parents are gonna hate him, but that wasn't the case.

- when the day came, Eren felt sick to his stomach. he almost backed out but decided not to, because he would feel really shitty.

- he wore a nice outfit to impress your parents. a white button up and some jeans. Eren hates wearing jeans.

- when you both arrived Eren was already sweating, he shook your mother and fathers hands, and they welcomed him with open arms. they seemed like sweet people to him, but he still felt like throwing up all over the table.

- your parents asked a lot about him, how you met, what he does for a living, etc.

- he was worried about your dad the most. Eren had heard so many stories from his friends about their girlfriends dads absolutely hating them, and he didn't want that to be the case with you. he loved you a lot.

- "how long have you been growing your hair out? (y/n) tells me it was shorter awhile back?"

- "o-oh.. uh.. erm.. i think after i graduated high school,"

- your dad actually got along with Eren very well, they cracked jokes and talked about the recent sport events happening. which was definitely a shock to you since your dad didn't actually approve of your last boyfriend.

- when dinner was finished Eren fell in love with your moms cooking. he ate so much that night, and he even complimented her about it.

- your mom elbowed you and whispered "he's cute" while you were standing there.

- Eren spoke very passionately about you to your parents 🥺, he talked about how you're one of the many reasons he gets up in the morning, and how you always manage to make him smile. it warmed their hearts knowing that you were in good hands with him.

- of course in the end, they approved. your parents loved how polite he was and they spoke very highly about him. which was a good sign for you.

- your parents would definitely want to have him over again and when you told Eren they approved, he felt relief wash over him. he was so scared they secretly didn't like him.

- he'd have an amazing relationship with your parents in the end.

ok so

and like, you’re pretty good at strategic thinking

so the gaang gets the idea to have you help sokka plan things out

it’s totally not because y’all are crushing on each other and they want you to spend more time together in hopes that one of you will confess

you’re sitting at a table and looking over a map

and you’ve never seen sokka so serious or concentrated on something and low key its very attractive

but also it only warms your heart because here is this boy who’s putting his all into trying to make a change in the world

and so it’s super serious and aang, katara, and toph are watching from a distance and getting frustrated bc y’all are actually taking this seriously

like the o n e time you’re alone y’all are actually getting shit done

but then

it happens

sokka sighs deeply and looks up, tired of looking at the map, and he freezes

there you are, sitting quietly, your bottom lip in between your teeth

sokka’s like 👁👄👁

and obviously everyone notices

now aang, katara, and toph are barging into the room making subtle comments

and toph is like “why is ur heart racing?”

and sokka’s like “stfu”

and you’re so confused but aang keeps elbowing sokka and motioning towards you 

katara is just giving you subtle winks and you’re turning bright red

“sokka why are you staring at (y/n)’s lips?”

“i am NOT!”

eventually it gets late and you two are left alone yet again 

you can tell sokka is kind of uncomfortable but you can’t help it

lip biting is a habit

the tiredness and frustration gets to sokka eventually and he finds himself leaning in closer and closer and closer

and bam!

y’all are kissing :’-)

the next morning the rest of the gaang wakes up to the two of you sleeping at the table, holding hands.

they all share a smile but you know damn well that they’re going to clown on you when you wake up.

Zuko

he’s not very subtle

y’all are probably tip toeing around each other but your feelings are very clear to everyone

whenever he’s around you, he gets flustered and he can’t help it.

your lip biting habit only makes it worse

you’ll be talking and he’s paying attention and then you stop to think and you bite your lip and he’s so distracted that he hasn’t noticed that you started talking again. 

it isn’t until a cool five minutes later that you realize that he doesn’t know what the heck you just said. 

it’s kind of funny actually

but yeah you catch on quickly enough and so does everyone else and soon enough you find yourself biting your lips at every possible chance

like, he’s sparring with aang? one look at you and aang is able to beat him in five seconds flat

he’s sword fighting with sokka? you’re in the background cheering him on and biting your lip in worry (it’s totally intentional) and sokka managed to land a blow

it works out though because you feel bad so you take care of him and clean his cut

you’re biting your lip in concentration when he decides he’s finally had enough and gently grasps your jaw, leaning in to press a kiss to your lips

now it’s you who’s a wreck and zuko has a smug smirk on his face

you do end up confessing though and when you join the others, they totally start revealing how you would do the lip biting thing on purpose

zuko is simultaneously mad and very happy and now every time you bite your lip on purpose (he can just tell), he can and will make you stop by kissing you
