So thinking about humans with ADHD we have many different things we learn to do to keep our minds or body busy. Imagine if a culture created a term called JOAT ( jack of all trades) as a way to classify humans.
Also we can randomly pick up frequencies that shouldn’t be easily measured by ear.
Zort: welcome to the ship I’m glad we could finally afford to add you to the team.
Pat: I’m glad to join so what will I do on the ship
Zort: anything you like we were told by the station manager that you were proficient in many different disciplines. That’s why we hired a JOAT.
Pat: yeah but what do you need me to do.
Zort: well we’re short a quantum engineer to keep our systems running until the next station that’ll be your role.
Pat: Ooookay….::: do you have information on what that entails?
Zort: here’s the last engineer’s log and history file. Good luck
Pat: sorry bunImay have some questions on what to do.
Zort: no worries the Computer can help if you need.
Two weeks later.
Captain Zort talking to helmsman Volga
Zort: is it just me or did we pass that last transfer with less turbulence?
Volga: Yes, JOAT Pat mentioned that that they found the connection between engine and power plant had a harmonic issue and synced them tighter.
Zort: but we had them synced at the last fueling for local resonance.
Volga: They said that they were annoyed by the buzzing and dialed it in to be less annoying.
Zort: Really, we don’t have the tools to tune the connection on ship.
Volga: They said that they did it by ear.
Zort: And when did they learn about engine harmonics.
Volga: They mentioned it reminded them of their cooling box at home and how they changed the input frequency to silence it.
Zort: okay don’t mention anything as they might want a raise.
