Been rewatching a lot of 2007-2008 era SNL recently. Even though a lot of stuff went on those years it still feels like simpler times somehow. 2008 recession due to the housing crisis? How about inevitable economic collapse due to a global pandemic. Crazy exciting presidential race? How about presidential race everyone is dreading? Joe Biden? How about Joe Biden?

Anyway I never realized how Andy Samberg and particularly Bill Hader were barely in any sketches. I think around this year they’ve both been on like 3 seasons? But Kristen Wiig is basically in every sketch, and Jason Sukeikis is in most of them too, and they were all hired together. Honeslty even Bobby Moynihan has most stuff than Bill some episodes. Bill is consistently that background guy™️ and Andy is that goofy guy™️ in like all the sketches. I kinda didnt realize it took them so long to hit there strides. Not that their early stuff isn’t funny, but Kristen already has Target Lady, Aunt Sue(?), Gilly, and That lady on update that says Just Kidding. Bill and Andy kind of have nothing. A few characters here and there but nothing compared to what they end up doing.

I guess the point of me rambling is I didn’t actually realize how most of the iconic stuff I think of when I think of Bill and Andy happened in the latter half of their years.
