Speed (1994) incorrectly credits Jan De Bont as director. Speed did not have any director, because if Speed had any direction, it would’ve been called Velocity

tfo doorwing mechs feat. blaster !! more rambling below :3
i'm v fond of the hc that doorwings are extended sensor panels,,, when i was thinking abt how that would translate to tfo, their lack of said sensor panels could mean their senses are significantly dulled. cogless jazz + the datsuns are subsequently very accident prone, though that's not any fault of their own HSDKLGH
their tier badges are v scratched up bc they keep flipping between promotions and demotions LOL
also full sketch canvas yayyyyy

Please list the monuments, shrines, and works of art you would most willingly destroy. 4. In the name of patriotism and the flag, how much of our beloved land are you willing to desecrate? List in the following spaces the mountains, rivers, towns, farms you could most readily do without. 5. Traumatic Responses in Murderbot, EP6
HEAVY EPISODE SIX SPOILERS BELOW I’ve seen some discourse on why the humans of PresAux reacted the way they did to LeBeeBee’s death. I’ve seen things like “good riddance” or “they should be more thankful” and I just wanted to say, the show did a fantastic job on realistically portraying how people react to traumatic events.
They just saw their friend get tortured for information by someone who they connected with and thought was their ally—and then they saw her get graphically and brutally killed! That level of intense conflict, in such quick succession, would be traumatizing for even the most hardened people.
Additionally, I saw someone mention that knowing abstractly your SecUnit will protect you from danger and then VIVIDLY experiencing the lengths it will go to, just to achieve that safety are two very different things! Being covered in the bloody guts of someone you thought was your friend with little warning or further attempt at de-escalation is jarring, even if (from an outside perspective) it was probably the most effective path.
And no, it’s not just because they’re “space hippies”. While being from a society that is very pacifist and thus probably experiencing less violence definitely affects their reaction to said violence, I just wanted to emphasize that the stuff going on here would shake anybody! The world isn’t so black and white that they would find out “oh, lebeebee is a bad guy” and then be totally fine with her dying an incredibly violent death in front of them.
Also, narratively speaking it adds so much more complexity to the relationship between SecUnit and the PresAux team. They will have to acknowledge the violence it’s been conditioned to. They will have to acknowledge that while SecUnit is a person and an individual, it is also not human—and has completely different perspectives, values, and beliefs. They will have to undergo this incredibly intense emotional process and grapple with their internalized biases, and they will learn to care for it despite it all.
As for SecUnit, it will eventually experience human connection with people who have seen it at its darkest. SecUnit believes that the humans don’t truly know it and its capacity for incredible violence; there’s a sense of a fundamental lack of understanding between the two parties because of it. (Remember the flashbacks, and how it wondered what the PresAux team would do if they knew about it.) That’s a core part of its psyche in the TV show, and I think that’s fascinating! With all these amazing new themes and conflicts to delve into, I truly believe it will only make the payoff more rewarding.
TLDR: The show portrays a realistic response to incredibly traumatic events that adds great depth and complexity to the relationship between SecUnit and PresAux.
