🇺🇸New York: Guggenheim Museum🇺🇸 . 🏛The Guggenheim Museum is an international museum in New York City, which collects and exhibits modern and contemporary art: a comprehensive collection of European painting throughout the 20th century and of American painting from the second half of the century. . 🏟The museum, founded in 1939, was moved to a permanent home in 1959, in an innovative new building designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, which represented a radical departure from traditional museum design, spiraling upward and outward in smoothly sculptured coils of massive, unadorned white concrete. . 🖼The exhibition space of the interior consists of a spiral ramp of six “stories” encircling an open centre space lighted by a dome of glass supported by stainless steel. The name "Taj Mahal" was derived from the name of the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan's wife, Mumtaz Mahal, and means "Crown Palace". . 🏛Shah Jahan decided to build this magnificient Monument in the memory of his beloved wife, who died giving Birth to their 14th son: the construction of Taj Mahal started in the year 1631 and was finally completed in the year 1653. . 🏗The monument was built entirely out of white marble, which was brought in from all over India and central Asia. 🇮🇸Geysir: Strokkur🇮🇸 . 🗻A favorite stop along the Golden Circle is the highly active Geysir Hot Spring Area with boiling mud pits and exploding geysers. The area became active more than 1000 years ago and comprises more than a dozen hot water blow holes. . 🌊The oldest Geysir could reach the height of 170 meters, but it is now mostly dormant. Although it is less active these days, it did lend its name to hot springs all over the world. . ⛲Other hot springs in the Geysir geothermal area are quite active. The most active geyser in the area is called Strokkur.
