I'm having a bit of deja vu with the show fandom. You see, the thing that frustrated me most years ago with book fandom is the group of "fans" who clearly didn't enjoy the books anymore but kept reading. They developed some kind of possessive attitude towards those characters and the story itself and a weird obsessive with Anne Rice even. And their main point of criticism started to seem more like: "Why isn't this dumb bitch writing what I want to read, about the characters I want? Stupid Anne." Instead of actual criticism. A very consumerist "I didn't order this" attitude. They didn't seem to understand that the author was writing what compelled her and not providing some kind of a service to them. This is the way I feel about some show fans. They don't want to see Lestat. Okay, fine. But that's not the creators obligation to cater to them specifically. They are adapting Anne's books, and he's the main character. That's it. Like, somebody needs to inform them that it's allowed to not continue watching and supporting the show. They are free. They can be happy. They just don't want to I guess.

oh that's interesting, i was never a part of just the book fandom but the show got me to read the books and it's interesting how nothing changes in regards to these gay vampires

i think people have a version of the show in their heads that simply does not exist on screen and argue with their lives about their own personal head canons like it was something explicitly shown on screen

or the "ugh the next season is about lestat i'm not watching" and yet they keep talking about the new tidbits or s3 images that we have and complaining... like please for the love of your own sanity do actually stop watching

or an account that i've seen on twitter that i KNOW had a louis pfp and @ and tweeted about the show yet they only started watching the show TODAY

one of the reasons we keep going back and forth about the same damn arguments (lestat is a woman NO louis is a woman uh actually it's the abuse show) is because we have like 15 episodes in 3 years and a 2 year wait for the next season

happiness is a choice but i swear this fandom chooses to be miserable for no reason (i'm like that sometimes too)

Just rewatched the wedding of Louis de Pointe du Lac and Lestat de Lioncourt and I have to say that if a man was begging me on his knees to marry me the way Lestat did after giving me the best sex of my life, I too would say yes.

A cascade of feelings came over me as I watched him sponge up the adoration. I wanted him dead. I wanted him all to myself.

I spent time today with my Mom for her birthday and one of her favorite shows is Matlock. The old one with Andy Griffith. Anyways, if you remember the old Andy Griffith Show with Andy and Don Knotts, those two remained best friends after the show ended and continued to act together as little old men decades later in Matlock, and it reminded me of Jacob and Sam.

I hope that, decades after IWTV/TVL ends, we still see Jam being best friends and acting together in projects. It just warms my heart to think about how this show has likely changed the entire trajectory of their lives and now they have a lifelong best friend as a result. It makes me feel warm and fuzzy to think that, one day, we might see old Jam on our screens still capturing magic together. 🥹♥️
