Personal Narrative
In the book King of the Storm by B.A. Brock, the author talks about Perseus. In Greek mythology Perseus, a demigod, is the son of Zeus, the great deity. Perseus was the beautiful son of Zeus and the mortal Danaë. Danaë was said to be trapped in a tower by her father and Zeus came down to impregnate her in a shower of gold rain. Perseus and Danaë were vanished for the palace and went to Seriphos. From there Danaë created an academy called Mycenae, where Perseus was raised and trained for him to turn 20 and be set to be the next king of Argos. When he was 13 a boy named Antolios, who had blonde hair and bright white eyes, was dropped by his father, Apollo. Perseus and Antolios grew up fighting and competing until one day when Perseus was 18 and Antolios 19 they had a love pact and they both became lovers. One day Antolios ran away because he felt that he didn’t want to interfere with Perseus’ prophecy. Perseus was devastated and ran away too, once he arrived in Delos, he became a farmer and built his house by the ocean. He became a harvester for olives and grapes. He made wine and traveled around Greece from demands of other gods. Perseus was very settled in his farm life until Andromeda came into his life and he had 9 children. His first born was Perses and he was prophesied to be a great voyager and accomplish things that no other mortal could have done.

Journal Entry #1
My mom, Danaë, and I arrived in Seriphos by noon and it was a beautiful view. My mom was given the Academy of Mycenae by my father, Zeus, and now she is in charge of everything and i‘m very excited to train with the elves and nymphs. On my 13th birthday, Antolios, son of Apollo, walked through the door and I felt butterflies in my stomach. Once he settled into his room he came out and had lunch with everyone in the grand table, I was just mesmerized by his shiny white eyes and you can see the rainbow in them. Days after, i asked the trainer if he can let Antolios and I battle for the tournament and in matter of minutes we were up. Antolios was a very calm-nature king of guy and really didn’t want to fight. I called upon the storm and it started raining, once it was nice and packed I let down a thunderstorm on Antolios and he passed out. The clerics, healers, came and took him for a check up and fix up. I felt terrible of what I did and went to go check up on him. He was laying there and just said “the victory is yours”. After that battle Antolios and I became closer and closer until one day. I was 18 and he was now 19 and we both were sent to go on our first mission. Antolios was even ready to go, until we got there we found love and we have never experienced it as much as that day. One night when we were sleeping together he said “I love You” and the morning after he disappeared and not a single person knew were he was and i was devastated. So devastated, that I decided to run away from my mom because she found out what was between Antolios and I, and just kept running until I was exhausted.

Journal Entry #2
I came to this seaside and I became in love with the rich lands that were surrounding it. I decided I was going to live here. Years past and a had a beautiful house with a view and a farm full of animals and an acre full of olives and grapes. My workers helped me harvest so i can make olive oil and wine. One day when i was eating breakfast, a warm gust blew towards me and i turned around to see Athena, the goddess of war, standing. I immediately knelled down and asked what was her her command. She said “Go to Mount Olympus and kill the terrifying gorgon named Medusa”. Chills came down my spine and I respectfully agreed. The day after I was set to go on this journey by a horse. Once I arrived, I felt weird and scared, but with my God sword and shield I could win. I walked through long and dark caves until I reached a room full of people that were turned to stone by the infamous Medusa. I heard a loud thud and turned around, it was quite dark but I could still see, and i saw a shadow. Medusa said “Ahh son of Zeus, what has brought you here today” with my heart racing, I crouched down until I could see her reflection on my shield. She came towards me and I rapidly swung my sword, I heard a head fall and skip on the puddles of water. Athena the met me and called me her Hero and set me off onto another mission to save a beautiful princess.

Journal Entry #3
I was leaving Mount Olympus to head on to my mission in going to Aethiopia to save Andromeda, a princess and daughter of King Cepheus and Queen Cassiopeia. I had wounds all over my body until Athena healed them and she granted me her power as well. I reached the kingdom and then i got a vision from athena and as I recall she explained that Poseidon sent Cetus, a sea serpent, to kill Andromeda as a sacrifice. The King was ordered by Poseidon to tie Andromeda, striped down to her will, to a rock. Once I arrived at the seashore, there was loud gusts and roaring waves, but nothing stopped me from saving this beautiful women. I headed over and started untying Andromeda, as she was thanking me and telling me that was her hero, i felt my body being pulled towards the ocean, it was the maleficent Cetus. As i struggled to get off his jaw, I pulled out my sword and struck it across his neck. Watching it sink down to the bottom of the ocean, I swam back to shore and finished untying Andromeda, Andromeda had red hair with beautiful brown eyes. She asked me if we could leave far away because her parents would kill her themselves, so I took her back to my farm in Delos. She was first curious of why a demigod like me was living in a farm, and I told her that my mom was getting on my nerves and i decided to be alone. Andromeda and I became more connected to each other and we got married and had kids, 9 to be exact. Our first born, Perses, had red hair and blue eyes and was very strong and mighty.

Journal Entry #4
As I was waved goodbye by my kids and hugged everyone of them, I felt my heart shatter to pieces. I was told by a god that I had to go back to Mount Olympus and save my father, Zeus. As I came to a stop in Ilium, I met an elf named Sabu and he had the powers to morph into any animal he desired, which would very helpful on my journey. He agreed to go with me and we both set track towards mount olympus. When we arrived all the Titans, including my father, were dead and lying on the ground. I fell to the ground and started screaming and crying until sabu helped me up and I calmed down. We ran as fast as we can towards the killer, Cronius, and sabu morphed into a bear and I created the most darkest storm I had ever created and suddenly a huge yellow lightning bolt fell down upon him and burned his nasty flesh. As we were about to finish him, he turned around and said “You will never win Perseus” as I sliced his throat. Moments later sabu had carried me back to Ilium and all The kings and Queens were all in the same room getting ready for my coronation. My family was here and my mom and Antolios’ family with his 9 daughters married to Queen Cora from Thessaly. I suddenly felt useless and fainted. As I was opening my eyes I saw Antolios and he leaned over and kissed me, as i was crying he asked if he wanted to run away with him. I chuckled and said maybe. Months later, I gave my position as king to my eldest Daughter, Gorgophone, and she married Antolio's oldest daughter, Kora. I had lost my wife and my mother in the past years and felt devastated, Antolios was also devastated all these years of regretting leaving me back in the academy. So I decided to take over Mycenae with Antolios in the footsteps of my mother. My father and Apollo were both at our coronation of the academy because we found a sacrifice that allowed them to come back from the underworld. As Antolios and I were bowing down to all the people, he leaned over and kissed me with tears in my eyes and I finally said I love you.
