BORROWING GUIDES: how to borrow from pacsun!
*DISCLAIMER* I am not responsible for anything done by anyone who reads this post, these tips are simply for roleplay purposes.
NOTE: if you plan to lift something bulkier (sweat pants, hoodies, jeans, ect) get a shopping bag from another store (preferably a more structured one, a paper one is my go to. if its clear or semi transparent make sure you keep a hoodie or something in it so you can hide what your borrowing in it). you can get this from either buying something or asking a store for a bag for your jacket/hoodie. you'll look suspicious if you do that though, so i'd recommend asking from a store you don't plan to lift from. good places to ask from are vs, pink, lush, bath and body works, aerie, ect. or bring one of your own, once again paper shopping bags are the best imo or a structured bag.
1) find something you like (tank top, t shirt, long sleeve, pants, leggings, sweatpants, hoodie, ect) and inspect for ink tags/non removable ones. if there aren't any, great! find a few items (the less the more believable the next steps will be and its best if they aren't bulky) and just hold them.
2) pretend to browse around and gather bigger bulkier objects (i recommend sweatpants, sweatshirts, jeans)that you don't plan to actually lift. pile them on top of the item(s) you actually want, make sure its layered so the item you're trying to lift is not visible. i'd also recommend picking items with pockets and ugly items as decoy items, this will make step 6 a lot easier for you.
3) head to the changing rooms. if ones already opened, go in there. if there isn't one don't be shy and go ask an employee to unlock one for you, just don't act suspicious. the employee will likely ask how many items you have, make sure not to say the actual number. i typically say the amount of fake items (the ones you're not actually lifting) so when i put them on the "no" racks it looks the most believable it can be.
4) when you get in the dressing room remove the paper tags. inspect and make sure there's no other tags. put the items you're lifting into your bag or if your taking something thin you can always put it on under a hoodie and wear it out of the store.
5) DO NOT leave tags in the dressing rooms. employees will suspect you. if there are already tags in there, clean up the other lifters messes. the employees won't know they aren't from you and will suspect you. however, pacsun employees typically dgaf about you so if you accidentally make a mistake it won't be too huge.
6) bring tags out of the dressing room with you. you can stuff them into jean pockets (or any pockets) of the decoy items you brought with you. if the decoy item is really f***ing ugly less people will try it on, and therefor the less likely the tags will be found. put them on the try on racks provided for clothes people don't end up liking or put them back where you found them.
7) leave! that is, unless you want to actually buy something. in that case i'd most recommend to use cash, its riskier to use a card at a store you lift from because then they have your name if any evidence of you lifting surfaces.
JEWELRY: most of their packaging is chipped, so unless you plan to un-package it in the dressing room (and hide the packaging) i wouldn't recommend taking any, you will get beeped.
EXTRA TIPS:
-pacsun has a "no chase" policy, so if somehow you do get beeped on, run. the employees can't follow you so just avoid that location for a while.
-be polite to employees! other than being a good person in general, being nice to them should also help keep them off your back, even though pacsun employees usually aren't very in your face.
-wear a mask!! not only does it help with the pandemic, it also is an excuse to hide 2/3 of your face. this way they wont even know what most of your face looks like, and most people look like 2 different people with and without their masks on.
