erasing all the shapes that came before you

artist, or lover, or abuser, or stranger

to place hands on me

find comfort in the potential they see in me

the beauty they can construct from my material

i am pressed into reality each time

I had to do something. (new and unfinished)

you ask me to make something beautiful, powerful, meaningful but I cannot create through this. blood never painted a pretty picture but we were never too good at digesting the ugly, cruel, and powerless but that is what I can bring you no art necessary leave your brushes, canvas, film, and cameras. I am no artist today. I am no alchemist not here to transform blood into wine today, I am the survivor playing soldier here to transform blood into more blood and bring it to you. spill it on your white carpets splash it until your hands look like mine. til you can't transform lives lost into a news story to change the channel on. I can bring you the blood.

World’s Most Beautiful Abandoned Places

Italian product manager and web designer Francesco Mugnai recently added a collection of images to his blog touting some of the most beautiful images of abandoned spots and modern ruins that he’d ever seen. The images Mugnai has captured come from empty castles, shuttered power plants, and dilapidated churches around the world. From a sunken yacht in Antarctica to a forever-closed amusement park in Japan, these images all make up a sort of anti-phoenix; rather than rising as new from the ashes, these husks remain preserved in decomposition, forcing viewers to confront the strange beauty of ruination.
