My take on the infamous Gone Girl... (so far)
Me: because everyone is saying there is a big twist
and that the movie is so strange
and eerie
and creepy
so im reading and reading
and in my mind EVERYTHING IS A TWIST
or THAT'S NOT TRUE
or whatever
but
i told ____ where i was in the book
and she said that the big twist already happened
and im like oh. not really that big a deal.
and that's why people need to stop hyping up shit
and that's why i need to stop expecting that everyone is as brilliant as shonda rhimes and veronica roth
:(
Kevin: LMAO
Me: and im going to tumblr this conversation
Kevin: oh you...
you're just reading for the sake of reading
waiting for the OH SHIT moment
Me: YESSS
LOL
and when the oh shit moment happened, i thought it was pretty mediocre
it wasn't OMG JOHN DOE IS GEORGE O'MALLEY
Mind you, I still have 4 hours of reading to go, so we'll see. Wish me luck!

Back at it again ya'll.
I've actually been posting lately... click here for super fun pictures and stuff.
So a couple things:
I just started using CodeAcademy to hone the html skills that I acquired via AsianAvenue.
It took me at least 45 minutes to come up with a tumblr name for my instax photos. I finally looked up bum shaking in Japanese and "Sorry, that name is taken" didn't pop up
I've still been reading. Copious amounts.I actually got a Kobo for my birthday from my boyfriend.
guess I haven't read anything spectacular enough for me to freak out and blog about but I am in the middle of Gone Girl which promises to be twisted and wonderful at the same time.
I started an account on GoodReads - I have like a hundred books in line to read. GoodReads is like heaven sent.
I also just got in for Health Informatics at Ryerson - its been challenging so far. Werk hard, play hard.
Turning 25 was both life-changing and terrifying at the same time.
I watched a couple of pretty-good-pretty-decent-pretty-great films this October long-weekend.
1) The Art of Getting By 2)What If 3) It's Kind of a Funny Story.
^I should've just posted that in list form too...
Anyways, happy thanksgiving ya'll.
Be thankful. Be happy.
Cheers!

"Rest assured, our amazing team of owls is working night and day to make sure all of the EDC details are on point. We will announce the lineup on May 27th, but until then keep those positive vibes flowing, and focus your excitement on what you are going to experience and how you are going to make this year’s event special for you and your friends. This is a celebration, not a concert. Just because dance music has broken through to the mainstream doesn’t mean we need to play by those rules or subscribe to that way of thinking. It’s what I learned as a fan, and it’s been my touchstone since I started Insomniac. It’s also what’s added so much joy and happiness to my life, and I’m going to hold that torch for as long as I can with the hope that it brings joy and happiness to you, too."

Amazing words. So so so so stoked.

Shatter Me Series by Tahereh Mafi
Wow. No words. Woke up, and I'm still thinking about the damn series.
I am FINALLY 100% happy about the way that this series ended. After the peaking in the second book for Hunger Games, Divergent, and Legend only to feel disappointed in the end - Shatter Me series just. got. better. AND. BETTER til the very end. Amazing.
My only true disappointment in this last instalment of the series was that I just wanted more.
I'm trying so hard not to betray my love for Divergent but fuck, Shatter Me was just so insane, and had so many mind blowing revelations. The only reason why I didn't finish the books faster was because my heart and brain needed a damn break from its intensity so it had to be put down once in a while. Seriously.
Divergent is my Grey's Anatomy. But Shatter Me is my Scandal.
This is also the first time in a long while where I finished the book and I immediately went back to read specific chapters and just relive different scenes. I am obsessed - but it was just so good. :')
Shatter Me will forever be my go to feel good series. It's official.

Unnnnnnnravelling
Do I even wanna keep reading? Because then the series is just going to end.
I am not even a quarter way done the book. It is becoming way too intense. As if that was actually a thing.
TEAM WARNER FOREVER. Ok bye.

YES YES YES. I kept thinking this! Haha he like loses that modest quality. Idk
Does anyone else think Theo James is too handsome to play Four? I mean I know he’s supposed to be handsome but I always imagined a mysterious sexy, not like “holy shit he’s hot”. Idk haven’t seen the movie yet so I can’t say for sure I just think they should have gone for a different look with casting Four.

FINALLY saw Divergent!
Watched it at noon today, and I'm still talking about it 10 hours later. I think I need to watch it again.
Am I a bit disappointed? Yes.
Do I think they could've done a better job? Not really. (confusing, I know)
Am I just bitter because I wish I played Tris and Theo James might've been a bit too perfect? Ok, you got me.
Hahaha. So they had to fit a 400+ page book into a 2.5 hour movie. I'm slowly starting to believe that they did their best to keep all the important stuff. Keyword: slowly.
Do I agree with all the changes? OF COURSE NOT. Because then it would've been a 5 hour movie. And would I have enjoyed that? OF COURSE.
LOL. Ok, still fangirling. I'll post all my true thoughts one day. But I don't want to mention any spoilers just yet.
I heard that if you watch it a second time it's better. And you have to keep the book and the movie separate. So i'll try again (and again and again...ha!)
I also srsly want to read it again because the book was just so so so good.

UNRAVEL ME
I started Ignite Me, but a chapter into it I realized I don't remember much about Unravel Me. I usually suck it up and try to remember as I read but I remember being so amazed by book two.
So I picked up Unravel Me and I'm reading it again.
HOLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY.
It is SO GOOD.

This is insane. It's like the book Gods are making movies out of my fave series.
Maze Runner is cray. Read it. Because I'm going to, again.

Nerd Time
So apparently since I've last read Legend by Marie Lu (still recovering) I have read:
Delirium by Lauren Oliver and Cress by Marissa Meyer
I guess the fact that I haven't had a 'freaking out because this book is so good' post is a good indication of how I felt about these reads.
Delirium had the potential to be so so good. And it was until the end. Cut me some slack I just got my heart ripped out and stomped on after Allegiant and Legend. I need a happy ending. (Not actually - keep em coming!) Whether I will continue to read the next book is still debatable. But I liked it a lot more than I liked Matched. omg that one was horrible.
Cress *spoiler alert* is not the end of what I thought was the lunar trilogy. I should've paid attention to the fact that it's the 'Lunar Chronicles' implying more than 3 books. It was good. I'm not WOW'd. But at least I am thrilled about the ending so there's no stopping me from reading the next one now! (Although, 'Winter' isn't coming out for a while...)
I was SO excited when I bought Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi. It is the final book of the 'Shatter Me' trilogy (I think...) and I remember reading Unravel Me and being super into it. BUT 10 pages into Ignite Me and I have ZERO idea what is going on. So here I am going back to the second book to refresh my memory. I guess the grand finale will just have to wait.
Next on my list:
Enclave by Ann Aguirre (Razorland Trilogy)
The Kill Order by James Dashner (Maze Runner Prequel)
The Red Rising by Pierce Brown (Trilogy)
Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi
I'm super stoked to get through these. Aaaand with all that said I really need to join a book club or something. Ok, happy reading!
Divergent (still) rules =)

I cannot believe I have taken this long to post about my night at the JT 2020 Experience tour.
Scored some floor seats the day before and ended up seeing my love with classes couple more of my loves. My boyfriend, my best friend and my only child - what more can a girl ask for?
As for the man himself, he unsurprisingly performed one hell of a show. Never ever ever a disappointment. He covered his classics from Justified and FutureSex/LoveShow and danced all my fave choreo from his last tour 7 years ago. He also did a ton of new choreo and performed most of 20/20. (THE FEELS DURING MIRRORS WERE REAL) It was wonderful. He is just so great and talented. I love you Justin.

The graduating class of YSDN 2014 have been working hard to present you with a huge event coming up this April 21 - 23, 2014. This is a student-led exhibition that showcases four years of what these design students have been mentally, physically, and emotionally preparing themselves for. The entire exhibition is organized and built from scratch from branding to way finding, promotions to web, and fundraising, etc. This time-lapse video reveals the process of how their identity was created this year. Please note that this is just a minor fraction of what they are working so hard on in order to produce one bold, exciting, and inspiring show for you to witness.
