evie had done all she could; she knew it was a waste of breath to tell melody her feelings on the eve of her wedding, but she'd have hated herself forever if she didn't say anything. but life wasn't a romcom, and so instead of standing by her side as the maid of honor at the ceremony, she was packing her bag, planning to leave before the happy couple did.

instead, she swung the door open to see the bride in question - melody, looking heart stoppingly beautiful in her wedding gown, and her smile aimed directly at her. "aren't you supposed to be saying i do right about now?" evie asked, a small smile lifting at the corners of her lips. "what are you doing here?"
