He was a God send even when he was here & now even more of an angel that he has his wings. My heart skipped a freaking beat when I scrolled down and I saw his face. I grew up knowing that beautiful black Queens could be mothers & lawyers, happily married to doctors. that stereotypes were just that; stereotypes. that we could be scholars & artists, intellectuals, with flair & style. Full of culture & life. I grew up knowing beauty didnt just come in shades of ivory & strands of gold, but in brown skin like mine, hair dark, like mine. It wasn't til I was grown that even ONE Disney princess resembled my reflection but Queens like these, and my own mother, my grandmothers, god mothers, sisters let me know what TRUE royalty was, what TRUE royalty looked like. #grateful! #Queenism #Salute #Queen ✊❤ (Taken with Instagram)
