Lola leaned against the entrance of the Shop classroom, waiting for someone, anyone, to finish their work and leave. She needed someone to help her out or at least distract her from the...situation she'd gotten herself into.
She pulled out a box of cigarettes, and lit one. She had taken a few drags when she heard footsteps coming from the right of the building, where the garage eventually led out into the parking lot. The hand holding the cigarette fell to her side and she walked slowly towards the corner and peeked around. Who was hanging around the garage? Most of the guys were either inside working on their cars or bikes or were off in New Coventry.
Lola stared as the footsteps grew nearer. A figure rounded the corner and Lola cursed sharply. Mandy.
She rushed back towards the doorway and attempted to hide in front of the door.
Of course it was Mandy. God, she'd probably found those tacky chocolates. Okay, maybe she wouldn't look towards the door. Maybe she'd just continue on her way.
What did Mandy think of those chocolates? What was she going to do? What would Johnny think?
Lola crouched next to the door and stared at the ground where her cigarette had fallen, forgotten. She watched it glow and burn out as she waited for Mandy to approach.
“I mean, I don’t know how Hattrick was even allowed to give me detention on Valentines’ Day. Isn’t that a national holiday or something?” Mandy griped to a disinterested Damon. She’d spent the whole day dodging the affections of the Nerds and laughing at the ones who had the gall to actually...

I don't even WANT these.
Lola watched with disdain as the large, sloppy nerd stumbled away. Algie just wouldn't get the picture that she wasn't interested. Sure, he was useful last year with his high test scores and perfect homework, but she was done with that. He'd been told repeatedly that she'd moved on to better men. Yet here she stood with an armful of cheap chocolates and a tacky Valentine made out of construction paper.
Uch, just what I need. Johnny won't like it if I show up with all these. Sides' I already got a bunch of chocolate from him. And its better than this cheap stuff.
Lola stood in the gym hallway and looked around, wondering where she could deposit some of the chocolates. She'd keep a few of the chocolates and the Valentine, but she would never need this much candy. What was that dork thinking?
The trashcan inside the girls locker room caught her eye. She walked into the locker room and manage to make it to the trash without dropping some of the candy. She let out a cry of frustration when she saw that the trashcan was full. Great. Just great. What can I do with this junk? Johnny's meeting me here soon, and I really don't want to have to explain to him again why I have valentines gifts.
Starting to panic, Lola turned her head and looked for some place to stash the candy. There! A locker in the first row had been left open. She shoved most of the chocolate into the locker and hastily left the room. As she put the small amount left over into her bag, Christy and Angie passed her on their way to the change out of their gym clothes.
"Yeah, but Casey was totally checking you out Christy! I bet you could you could get a date if you wanted to..."
"I don't know Angie, I mean, like, he's cute but I think Dan was planning something. Oh! Hold on a sec, Mandy forgot to close her locker. I told her I'd get it. I'll meet up with you in a minute."
Christy and Angie entered the locker room, and Lola, horrified, could only stare after them. Mandy had left her locker open. What?!
Okay, okay. Don't flip. Maybe Mandy wouldn't notice that Lola had some of the same chocolates as those in her locker. Maybe Mandy wouldn't notice that one of the chocolates in there had "Lola" written on the label. Yeah. Maybe.
Lola mussed up her hair, wrung her hands, and grabbed her bag. It wouldn't do any good to stand around here. With one final wide-eyed glance at the locker room, she turned and dashed out of the gym. Johnny would just have to find her somewhere else.

That's so rude! Ugh. I think these clothes look great, and I'm sure lots of people would agree with me.
It's okay Johnny, I think the necklace is perfect. You should teach him a lesson. You could beat that chump anytime, I'm sure of it. You're just so strong.
One of those preppy guys just insulted my outfit.
Come on, these clothes look great. I’m sure Johnny won’t appreciate that they said my necklace looked cheap.

I haven't slept with most of those guys! Ugh, so unfair! Just because guys like me, everyone thinks I sleep around. I can't help it if people like me. At least I know they don't all hate me behind my back.
Really? Cause you don't seem very happy with how you are now.
lovelylittle-lady replied to your post: Nice black eye. I’m guessing there’s some sort of pathetic story to go with it?
Ouch. Y’know, couldn’t I just be worried? It’s sooo unfair that you assume the worst. Besides, I’m sure there’s some GREAT reason for you…

Tch, I'm sure my life is more interesting than yours. At least my popularity isn't fake.
Shouldn't have to take this?! Well excuuuse me. I was just worrie-...curious about what happened. Ugh, you're such a bitch.

Like a hooker? Really? Have you looked at yourself?
Whatever, I look good. Johnny thinks so.
I didn't come up to you trying to pick on you. You started the attitude first honey. I just wanted to know what happened.

Ha, don't get ahead of yourself sweetie. It takes a lot of work to look as hot as I do, and I'm sure you're not up to it.
I'm just glad I don't get myself into stupid situations that give me black eyes.

Wow, I’m actually almost flattered, except I always look good… Well, better than you, at least.

Lola smiled when Johnny pulled her closer. She loved when Johnny held her like this. He seemed happier now, and comfortable with her again. Good.
It's not like she didn't like when Johnny got all jealous (he was just so passionate about it,) but she didn't want him to be angry at her for something she didn't even do. Johnny also deserved some happiness after his time in the slammer. He shouldn't have even been there in the first place! She'd need to make up for any trouble she'd caused since his return. Johnny was always so stirred up after a fight, especially if it involved her in some way. He'd need some sweetening up.
"Oooh, you are the king. You're just so...dangerous. I'm sure I won't need to worry about those guys anymore and their bad behavior."
As she spoke, Lola reached her arms around him and nestled her head by his ear. She lowered her voice and spoke in huskier tones. Yet she let out a small, sincere "Thanks baby,." after her more seductive statements. His hair tickled her face a bit as she let him hold her.
“Course I like it. It was just so sweet of you. I haven’t taken it off much actually. I’m afraid of nicking it, but it’s just so pretty.”
Lola finished inspecting the bruise and gave an appreciative smile. “It certainly makes you look tough. I think I like it.” She noticed he’d smeared a line of grease on his face, most likely while he’d been working in the Garage, and she wiped the smudge away. Johnny always got caught up in his work; she loved when he got all serious about it.
Johnny seemed to have cooled off considerably, and she was glad that he hadn’t questioned whether she was telling the truth or not. She wouldn’t have been able to deal with anymore distrust when she’d been trying pretty hard to stay “loyal.” Eesh, the idea still seemed unfamiliar to her.
She tried to act upon his better mood; maybe even get him happy with her again. She moved closer to Johnny and looked up at him through her eyelashes.
“So you showed those boy’s who’s boss huh? You’re just so strong. I bet they won’t ever think of givin’ me the eye again.”

Lola pulled her head up and looked directly at Johnny. He really HAD beaten those other boys up. She resisted the urge to smile at how deliciously emotional he was, and instead clenched her fists at her sides and focused on her own anger instead. Flirting usually didn’t work like she wanted it to when Johnny was all worked up.
“You really beat em’ up? Heh, I bet they didn’t stand much of a chance against you though.” She crossed her arms and gave Johnny a wary look before continuing. “They weren’t my boyfriends though. Sure I let them flirt a little, but I never actually did anything. I wouldn’t do that to yo-…I mean, I haven’t really been around the guys much since Christmas. I’ve been good, but no one notices! It’s so unfair!”
At this point, she started fiddling with the necklace again, and looked away. She wasn’t very comfortable with this; even though her flirting had been toned down lately, she was reminded of her…affairs from before and didn’t want to face them. She was also angry that Johnny’d gone and thought she’d cheated again.
But Johnny had fought those guys, and she wanted to think that he’d done it for her. Her temper cooled and she took a few steps to stand in front of Johnny. She looked into his face and noticed the ugly bruise. With practiced sweetness, she gently brought her fingers up to the injury.
“Does it hurt baby?”

Johnny was hunched over a bike, tightening the chain and spinning the wheels experimentally when he heard someone’s footsteps approaching the garage. Must have been one of his guys, maybe bringing in more oil or parts, or maybe even a bike. He didn’t really pay it much mind, wiping some sweat from...

Lola stood by the girl’s dorms, popping her gum as she listened to the latest gossip from Christy.
“…and THEN I saw them up at the theater. Kissing!”
Pop
“Did you hear what Jimmy did with that new girl? I heard they spent a whole night away from the school together!”
Pop
“Didn’t Johnny spend Christmas with you? I bet that was sooo fun!”
Nod. Pop
“Ew, didya hear about that one girl? With HIM?!”
Pop
“Like, sometimes I wonder why I don’t get more attention. Maybe I should start a rumor about me.”
Pop
“Oh hey, did you ever apologize to Wade? I heard Johnny beat up him and a bunch of guys for something you did. I mean, I guess its sorta your fault, right?”
Lola stopped chewing and stared at Christy. What? Johnny’d beaten them up?! How’d he even hear about those guys in the first place?
She cursed and gave a quick nod and a “Thanks sweetie.” to Christy (for once her lame gossip had been useful,) then sped off towards the Garage. What had he been thinking? She hadn’t even done anything with those guys. Her actions had been pretty tame since…She fiddled with the heart locket around her neck.
Johnny must’ve been really angry. Normally she liked when he got all worked up but this…this was too much. Those guys hadn’t done anything wrong, and neither had she! Why wouldn’t anyone believe her? Mandy had probably told him something, that would be just like her.
Lola had reached the parking lot and slowed her pace. She stopped to catch her breath and noticed a few of the Bullies standing around watching her. Panting, she sent them an annoyed look…maybe another time. She made her way over to the entrance to the Garage. Familiar shouts and laughter echoed around the buildings.
Her fingers clenched around her necklace and she braced herself for Johnny’s temper. She walked towards the path in front of the garages and tentatively called out,
“Johnny? You here?”

You always say the most annoying stuff, its like you have nothing better to do.
I'm done with this, you don't even know what happened! You're nothing special, but you think you can just say whatever you want about something you don't even know about. Why does everyone even give you popularity?
I'm just worried about what's gonna happen with Johnny and all these boys, and it doesn't help that you butt in. I- I mean...
I'm outta here.
cheerleading-bitch replied to your post: What was that Chad and Davis and Algie and Bryce and Wade were sayin’? >:T
Yeah, and then you took it off.
What’d you just say Mandy?! I wouldn’t do that! I mean, I’ve been keeping my hands off…

Ugh, you’re awful!
I guess you wouldn’t understand fashion though, would you?… This is when I appreciate Gord.
You’ll never understand how much work it is to be me. I mean, I didn’t even want the attention from those guys, but who am I to tell em’ to stop looking?
