Possible controversial take?? But I hope Stargaze does the scene of Eriks stripping to protect Lina, or does something similar.

Like it’s definitely uncomfortable and it’s hard to watch Vash be so willingly humiliated, but it’s one of the scenes that really dug it’s claws into me on my first watch.

Vash doesn’t even hesitate, he just agrees, and it kind of shocked me. He knows there’s every chance the bandits won’t keep their word, but he’s ready to try just doing as they ask as a first resort anyway. There’s no furious teeth-gritting and bargaining, or considering options, or exchanging insults like I’m used to seeing when a hero is asked to sacrifice their pride. He doesn’t try to find another way, not because he couldn’t but because he thought this was the safest thing he could do for all involved. He walked out there, placed himself between the people in that bar and the danger, and accepted that anything he had to do, he would do it.

Even more than his readiness to be injured protecting others, this scene really hammered home that Vash will do anything for the sake of a life. Not only with complete disregard for his own health and safety, but with complete disregard for himself entirely. It was a character-defining moment for me, and I’m really hoping we get to see the reboot’s take on it.

I love trigun soup, I love mixing the three canons but it's also funny if the tags don't mention that they're doing it because I'll be reading a trimax timeline fic and the author will suddenly mention the stampede plant markings or have vash use "nai" and I have to readjust my brain a little lmao. Ah! The soup! Okay back to the horrors

Reddit bad takes about trigun have the unique ability to make me crawl up the wall because i CANNOT point to a single reason why someone would believe that vash would start killing after the end of 98, or like, EVER

Tumblr bad takes however are just draining emotionally, physically hell even spiritually because i have 0 energy left to explain to someone why only criticising Stampede for making wolfwood "not hot anymore" and portraying him as the daddy dom is kinda fucked up in like 3 separate ways. (Opposite of this is when people are convinced that he's a child/teen which is similarly draining)
