Please I would literally be Albedo's housewife and it would be completely unintentional on both our ends. Like I can't cook or clean, I'm really bad at it-

But this guy seems like he'd be literally so bad at taking care of himself. Like please- forget relationship stuff I want to be there, being the one who just quietly places a bowl of- I don't even know what, mac and cheese maybe- by his side mid-experiment when he's lost track of time and forgottem to eat again. To carefully clean up his workstation after he falls asleep at his desk because he stayed up too many nights working on his latest experiment. To be there to welcome him on the rare occasions when he comes back from dragonspine.

But further, imagine brainstorming ideas with him. Of course you don't think there's all that much you can contribute considering that he's a genius and all, but he quickly reassures you that "no, it may be true that my knowledge of alchemy far exceeds your own but the exchange of ideas in and of itself can help me to see flaws in my words that I would otherwise remain ignorant of. Also the fresh perspective you bring to the craft is... interesting. I've found I'm rather fond of it, and your voice as well"

like Albedo has no shame and just bluntly says what he thinks as if it were any other observation, so he'll just compliment you or point out a quirk of yours that he noticed at the randomest times. Of course on the flip side he also tends to make some... more tactless comments out of the blue but if you seem to react negatively he'll make a note to keep observations of that type to himself next time, a he would hate to cause you any unnecessary negative emotions(especially cuz he knows he doesn't understand them fully and knows he might not realize the severity of the emotion if he ever does cause it, so he avoids it the best he can just in case. He's still learning tho)

I feel u too like no kidding-

Albedo is my ideal partner, hands down- that's my type. But anyway, he's definitely the kind of person who's love life/romance is very 'normal'.

Seemingly mundane but not at all lacking.

It's in the little gestures, the small smile that finds itself on his lips when you press a kiss to his head and set down lunch because it's already nearly two hours passed and he's forgotten (again).

There's an endless possibility of knowledge, and I'm glad you brushed on that because I agree! Anything to him is a treasure trove of new ideas, new perspective--to a scientist, that in itself is incredibly valuable! It's why scientist mingle with so many other different places of expertise. To be able to piece together a little knowledge from others can mean you come to a breakthrough!

Also those little comments he makes about enjoying your voice or thoughts and insight??? All accidentally charming. He's just stating something that he believes is true. When you speak, he finds himself lost in your words and can't help but lean in to listen more...so it must mean that you have a pleasing voice. Therefore, it's fact that he enjoys it.

That being said, the idea of Albedo with very lightly pinched brows and a small pout because he's stuck trying to figure out what it was he did or said wrong...

loosens his ponytail in hopes that you’ll notice and just untie it for him

offers to take your coat off instinct every time he sees you, even if it’s one of the colder seasons

always makes sure you lock the door before he leaves

obnoxiously clearing his throat when you’re purposely ignoring him

blinking multiple times when he first takes in your appearance and muttering “wow” every single time

denying that he was watching you sleep when he was definitely watching you sleep

“my” in front of every pet name

making sure he sprays cologne on himself just for the possibility of you complimenting his smell

insisting that meals taste better with you when asked why he hasn’t started eating

kaeya’s initial reaction to seeing you wipe your mouth after kissing him is … well, offended

he just gives you this look of ‘are you being serious right now…?’

and when you ask him why he’s just been staring at you without saying a word he brushes it off

kaeya literally starts to question his entire romantic life, not even knowing that it was just one of your little pranks

he uses the situation to try and become a better kisser, kissing you a bit too passionately when he saw you later that night

and at this point, you’d almost feel too bad telling him you were just messing around

unlike kaeya, he’s gonna confront you about it right away

the look of what seemed to be BETRAYAL on his face was almost too much to handle

“why did you wipe your mouth?”

“huh?”

“your mouth. you wiped it. you wiped my kiss off.”

he nearly makes you regret doing it

he’ll follow you around asking you if his breath smelled or if you just didn’t want to kiss

you just shrugged his questions off, making him go crazy

it isn’t until he kisses you again and you wipe your mouth again that he realizes you’re playing a prank on him

“ahh, okay, i get it. bruising my ego for one of your little pranks i see?”

and you’d pay for it by having him kiss you all day long, although you don’t really mind

poor zhongli, so oblivious to your little tricks

seeing you wipe away his kiss before he left in the morning honestly put a damper on his whole day

of course, he’d never let you know that

and you couldn’t even tell until he went to bed without giving you a goodnight kiss

and that’s when you started to realize maybe he thought you were being serious

so the next morning, you see him off to work as per usual

and then he starts to leave without giving you a kiss

“wait, zhongli! where’s my morning kiss?”

“oh, ah… because of yesterday i thought maybe you didn’t want me to kiss you anymore…”

you felt so guilty for making him feel that way

you practically tackle him and smother his face in small kisses, explaining in between each kiss that it was just a joke to see what his reaction would be, and that you were sorry

needless to say, zhongli forgave you quite easily

he almost can’t believe his eyes when you wipe away his kiss

so he kisses you again to see what you’ll do

and you wipe it away again

“hey. stop doing that.”

“what?”

he kisses you once more. and you wipe your mouth once more.

“that! stop doing that!”

“what?!”

he rolls his eyes, grumpily turning his attention back to the dishes in front of him

he knew it was one of those little pranks you played

but when it came to his kisses

that you often told him you loved

he couldn’t lie and say it didn’t hurt just a little bit

scaramouche

honestly, you don’t know what possessed you into thinking doing this to scaramouche was a good idea

when you wipe away his kiss, he’s immediately angry

“what? you don’t want me to kiss you anymore? fine.”

you have to calm him down and explain yourself before he gets too upset

“hey, woah, calm down! i was just joking around. see?”

you kiss him again, this time without wiping it off.

“it was just a little prank… i wanted to see what’d you do.”

“a prank? hmph… whatever.”

he turns away, but only to hide his reddening cheeks

without thinking, he had shown you how much he really liked you by getting so offended

how long is it gonna take for people to realize how albedo isnt emotionless or manipulative? it’s obvious he genuinely does care so deeply about the people around him, it’s just difficult for him to completely understand social cues. he’s so sweet and the amount of effort he makes to make conversation etc is evident. he’s a nd coded character and it’s really cool to see somebody interact similarly to me and i know others feel the same way about him, so it’s frustrating when people just glaze over it and use it for angst.

so can we talk about soft albedo now
