Little Update!

Hi everyone, i noticed i got some new followers after posting in reddit so i wanted to explain why my voracious posting stopped after a few days ago.

I joined the team of translators at otogelib and have been spending all my time translating the google doc for Amnesia Later x Crowd line by line, so my personal translations are gonna pause for awhile ^^; sorry!

That being said though, if theres any interest in joining the team PLEEEASE i need you! I’m covering alot of ground, fast, and if we had one or two more translators on this project we could have it finished in no time, literally.

Amnesia : Later Translation (Part One - Prologue)

Hi there everyone! I’m very passionate about the Amnseia series and have long pined for its localization, after scouring the internet, I could only come up with bits and pieces of Amnesia : Later’s translation. I’ve decided to compile all my findings into a few posts on here. I’l credit everyone where it’s due. This is going to come in a lot of different, small parts because I plan on translating the entire game (+ I’m actively looking for help! If anyone has interest, send me a message and we’ll talk over Discord or Steam) I’ve extracted the game script to my PC of all potential routes. 

We’ll go in chronological order. This is the prologue. Enjoy!

August 1st

When she woke up, all of her memories had vanished.

Next to her was a strange looking boy, Orion, who called himself a spirit.

Orion said it was his fault she had lost her memories.

Even so, he promised he would support her in regaining her memories. Following Orion's advice, the girl started looking through her belongings.

Before long, the relationships the girl once had started to become more clear.

And in turn, the complicated motives behind the true reason she had lost her memories began to surface.

Orion realized it - “Hm, I see, so the reason she lost her memories wasn’t because of our collision!”

A human of the organization appeared before the girl struggling to comprehend everything.

Can her memories ever be restored?

What is the true reason her memories disappeared?

Can Orion really protect her?

Are their destinies really intertwined!?

Orion: “I would be so happy if it was that sort of story!”

Orion: Good morning, [Y/N]. Are you awake?

Orion: “Are you still sleepy?”

Orion: “It’s probably because we stayed up late last night for our strategy meeting.”

Orion: “But you kept saying 'Who are you again?’ right after you woke up. That’s a pretty terrible case of being half asleep, don’t you agree?”

Orion: “You looked out of it so tried to explain your current situation.”

Orion: “What I just told you was basically a synopsis from August 1st up to today. I’m a spirit called Orion. Do you remember now?”

Orion: “Hmmmmm. What’s that face for?”

Orion: “Is there anything different form the facts? Is that so? I thought it was true.”

Orion: “..…”

Orion: “It was a lie. I’m sorry.”

Orion: “All that stuff about the evil hand of the organization or there being a real truth behind your amnesia - it’s a lie.”

Orion: “It was simply an accident, and the responsibility is mine.”

Orion: “I’m stuck inside your mind where your memories used to be. Because of our collision, they all kinda flew away...”

Orion: “That just now was what I hoped you to believe.”

Orion: “Ah, wouldn't it be nice if there really was a deeper reason behind it.”

Orion: “I’ll fight to protect you if there’s anything from your background that causes a situation to occur.”

Orion: “I’ll guide you with my wisdom and courage and save you from all evil! I’ll help you!”

Orion: “I can’t touch human things. I can’t be seen by anyone other than you and I can’t talk to them either, but…”

Orion: “If an attacker should come from behind, i’ll protect you and fight!”

Orion: “Leave it all to me! I know this city as if it was the back of my hand. We’ll lose him around the next corner!”

Orion: “Just kidding.”

Orion: “ Well, in actuality, all I can do is investigate around you and give advice. Hmm… This fate really is cruel.”

Orion: “Ah, thank you!!”

Orion: “I may not have been much help before now, but I’m really gonna give it my best for you!”

Orion: “Well, I’ve gotta try to do something other than just wallowing around.”

Orion: “What I can do now is try to support you so you can live safely given the circumstance.”

Orion: “Hey, look at this, it’s the correlation chart we made for everyone you know yesterday.”

Orion: “After you went to sleep last night I was looking at this by myself and did some thinking.”

Orion: “Yesterday we just took in all the information we had and got a rough idea of what your relationships are.”

Orion: “Your parents live somewhere far away and aren’t around. You’re living alone and you don’t have a boyfriend.”

Orion: “You’re particularly close with your two childhood friends and your four coworkers.”

Orion: “You’re not in dealing with an injury from an accident and you’re not being bullied by a vicious group of girls.”

Orion: “Additionally, It doesn’t look like you’ve got a guy with a doomed fate keeping watch over you either.”

Orion: “I’ve got an proposal. How about you pick someone you think you can count on and tell them about your memory loss?”

Orion: “I think that would be the quickest way to regaining your memories and living a peaceful and normal life.”

Orion: “Anyway, you've got your part-time job today. I hope you can meet the people you’re close with.”

Orion: “Just try to think about who is the most reliable while you’re talking with everyone.”

Orion: “And then you can explain your situation to whoever you think is the best choice!’“

Orion: "Oh, but we don’t know if there’s anything going on, so we’ll have to carefully go over the situation carefully.”

Orion: “How do you feel? Do you think it’s a dangerous plan? Well, take your time thinking it over more while you’re working.”

Orion: “All right, get changed and let’s go!”

Orion: “Hm, pretty harsh words first thing in the morning. Thanks a lot.”

Orion: “I think you already know, but I’ll explain it to you. This is Shin. He’s one of your childhood friends.”

Orion: “He’s direct but he really does worry about you. …Even if he is hard on you.”

Orion: “I think he’s a trustworthy companion in his own way, so it’d probably be fine if you confided in him.”

Shin: “What is it? You’re worse than usual, staying silent with me. Are you still half asleep?”

Orion: “We’re not drowsy! We actually got a good nights sleep~”

Shin: “I wonder why you’ve been acting out of it around my neighborhood a lot.”

Shin: “When you’re around me…Hm. You just always seem like you need to be looked after.”

Orion: “Hm? That’s a terrible way to say it.”

Orion: “Do you think something bothering him? Or is he just being moody?”

Hi everyone, I know I just started my blog here but i’ve been dying to play Amnesia : Later. I searched the internet up and down for a completed downloadable English patch but i think that hope is long behind me, SO.

I was wondering if anyone is currently working on translating it, and if i could help them along with the process. I’m not a professional but i’m super driven / passionate about this localization. Theres ALOT of desire for it

There you go! FLML was a very fun little distraction from the heart-crushing shit I usually like to play. This game is great if you’re looking for something to jog your imagination, or if you're’ just like me and every so often, regular otome isn't quite cutting it. It’s low impact, very comedic, and overall an easy VN. Worth the price? Definitely not. You only get about 15~ hours of game play and not enough of those real strong emotions get drawn out of you. It’s fairly lighthearted. Can they make a eroge for women that is more realistic? When will one come out that has all the emotional bells and whistles BUT also physicality?!

 Catch this one while it’s on sale for sure.

He dosen’t even deserve the hearts I put in the title of this post. Saito is a f*cking bastard.But all the same, he’s an important part of the plot we HAVE TO ENDURE TO GET TO MORE STEAMY MIKI MOMENTS. Even if Saito is there for them, at least we get more Miki.  ◔_◔

Saito really has, no redeeming qualities. He’s constantly calling the protag a sow, commenting on her eating habits, just putting her down every chance he gets. I went into this thinking “Oh, Saito is just the tsundere type, hes gonna melt when we get all steamy”

Before I get this guide started, there is something I want to mention!

Fashioning Little Miss Lonesome is an R18 game. You can turn the H-scenes off from the main menu, but i believe they come ON by default. It gets graphic, and I mean absolutely NOTHING LEFT TO THE IMAGINATION type graphic. You have been warned! 

I am the biggest, die-hard fangirl of Miki. I don’t know MangaGamer did it, but they literally made the perfect man.

I don’t play many (If any) Visual Novels / Dating Simulators / Otome during the school semester. One of my main qualms with this game is that the protagonist we have, (as much as i appreciate her bug fixation and constant mentions of it) is severely underdeveloped and just acts as a body upon the two romanceable options.... y’know... get DOWN with. 

Now, in a typical game, this would bother me pretty bad. She has no confidence, no personality, she even says flat our she thinks life would be easier if people just “told her what to do all day!” and they do. But you don’t buy a game like FLML to indulge in fiction or even legit romance. 

You buy it to fill the VOID(s)  (  ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) ya feel me. heheheh.

This is the definition of “porn with a plot.” Miki is the only saving grace this game has story wise, otome wise... But we’ll talk more about Saito and my burning white hot hatred for him in his VERY OWN POST.

Shin! This is the guy square center in all of the promo pictures.To be honest, the younger brother type never really DOES it for me, but Shin was a pleasant surprise. The writers didn't sculpt his character the way i thought they might, in fact, I see some of the qualities in Toma that I was initially expecting from Shin (The blind praise, the unapologetic over-protectiveness.) On the contrary, Shin is incredibly mature and grounded.  You can’t help but feel bad for the guy, he might be TOO mature.

Shin was a breath of fresh air. He was coldly-caring. Forcing the protagonist to grow up. I played Shin as my last route before joker world and was left wondering why I had waited so long on him  ゜:(つд⊂):゜。

The one thing I would say, is that for anyone whose planning to go through this route blind, do not get too close to Toma. Just prioritize Shin (duh) but put Sawa / Mine second, not Toma.

It’s time to join Ikki’s fan club! Or, is it? Much like the protagonist, Ikkis eyes never really worked on me either, but he was doomed with me from the start. I loathe the pretty boy, girls flocking around him type. The first time i saw him, he reminded me of Caesar from Princess Debut, or Shingen from Ikemen Sengoku. But he actually turns out to be a pretty decent guy, and eventually I found myself blushing. I never pick these types in otome unless I’m trying to 100% a game, so he was a nice change of pace. Ikki’s charm is not in his *INTENSE RADIANT BEAUTY*, it’s in his reflection on it, and how it affects his life.

His character left me a bit conflicted, and i stubbornly wanted to know what all the hype was surrounding him and kind of answered my own question in the end. It’s hard to wonder as the player if he really LIKES you, or if hes just into you because you're the only one whose not laying all over him begging to be his girlfriend. It’s just a game, i know, so OBVIOUSLYYYYY, he really does like our protagonist. But still! I felt that worry as if I was in her shoes. I guess that’s what makes him such a great character!

Kent was my first love in Amnesia: Memories.I always go for the glasses achetype first, sue me. I have a thing for the blatantly dry, academics consumed kind of man. I felt a bit frustrated with Kent’s character throughout the beginning of his pay-through, but he came out to be sweet all the same. Toma was hands down, no questions asked, my favorite romanceable option in this game (Still wondering why they didn't include a route for Waka as a funny easter egg!!! I would have died for that)

My love for him only grew throughout my time playing the other routes, you can tell the seeds of jealousy and instability are always there. But nothing beats actually experiencing it! Namely, in Shin’s and Ukyo’s play-throughs, you can really see the cracks in his mental foundation. I can’t believe he was my second to last choice during my initial playthrough! I chose Kent, then Ikki, then Toma and finally Shin. How foolish I was two short weeks ago ;___;
