Ikemen Sengoku: Date Masamune

This guy is so flashy lol. I remember he was (still is) very popular back when Ikemen Sengoku just started. Even the app icon featured him for a while. Initially, I wanted to go for him after completing Nobunaga's Happiness route but uh, I got distracted by Yukimura. Then Shingen. Then Kenshin. Before I finally went for his story. Sumimasen...

HE REALLY DID NOT DISAPPOINT THOUGH. I LOVE HIS STORY SO MUCH. ❤

I can’t quite describe Leon, other than he’s a milder version of Date Masamune from Ikemen Sengoku. It may or may not be partly because he’s voiced by the same person.

Ikemen Prince: Master Post

This post will be updated as and when I make progress in the game.

Story

Set in the medieval times, the heroine, Emma, works in a small bookstore and lives a normal life in a small country. One day, she was brought to the castle where she met the eight princes, whom many refer to as the “wild beasts” as they are known to personally pick up their swords to fight at the front lines.

Emma was told that the king has passed away and as a tradition, a lady will be chosen from among the commoners as “Belle” to decide who will be the next king. She has until before the last petal falls from the special rose to get to know the princes and make her choice.

Little did she know that she would end up falling in love with one of them. However, instead of happily ever after, she found herself facing a shocking reality – that the 99th condition of accepting the role of “Belle” is that all contact with the king shall be forbidden after the choice is made…

Ikemen Sengoku: Uesugi Kenshin

Kenshin-samaaa.

The yandere representative. I remember a few years ago, my sharehouse mate told me Kenshin is her favourite and I couldn’t put a face to the name lol oops. I thought she was referring to Mitsuhide. In my defense, I’ve only completed Nobunaga’s route then and have yet to really study the other characters.

But!!! When I watched the mini trailer for his story, I was like GODDAMN IT’S MY FAVOURITE ENEMY FALLING IN LOVE WITH THE HEROINE THING AGAIN. Kenshin is now one of my favourite Ikemen Sengoku warriors.

This guy would probably be in jail if you measure him using real life moral standards. But based on otome world moral standards, I find him hilarious and adorable.

Ikemen Genjiden: Minamoto no Yoshitsune

Yoshitsune-sama!!!

This guy is not the center but he’s probably the most popular. THOSE AMETHYST EYES. His character design is the most striking among all others in my opinion. He’s also voiced by the kami Ishida Akira.

Ikemen Sengoku: Oda Nobunaga

Nobunaga-sama!!!

…is the first ikesen character I played because CV. Sugita Tomokazu. Not that it made a lot of difference since 90% of the story is not voiced but eh, you know, seiyuu bias. Plus Nobunaga is clearly the center.

God how did I end up liking this guy so much. I had no feelings for him for the longest time since he was introduced. But when I read his story synopsis I was like goddamn he’s in my otome strike zone. 😂

Ikemen Sengoku: Master Post

Story

The heroine was traveling by herself in Kyoto when she (nearly?) got struck by lightning at the Honnoji Incident ruins monument. When she opened her eyes, she found herself in a burning Honnoji and somehow ended up saving Oda Nobunaga (who was supposed to die in the fire).

Nobunaga took a liking to her and ordered her to follow him back to Azuchi Castle with the rest of his gang. The heroine soon realised that she has time-travelled back to the Sengoku era. Until she finds a way to return to the modern day, she’s stuck with the (ikemen) sengoku warriors.

Ikemen Genjiden is the second Ikemen series I play the most frequently nowadays after Ikemen Sengoku.😊

Tamamo is a fox ayakashi, who one-sidedly decide to form a contract with the heroine because he found her soul beautiful.

Ikemen Genjiden: Master Post

This post will be updated as and when I make progress in the game.

Story

Set in the Kamakura period, Minamoto no Yoshitsune attained the powers of the ayakashi and revived after being destroyed by his brother (also the shogun), Minamoto no Yoritomo.

The heroine is a pharmacist who got dragged into a fight between Yoritomo and Yoshitsune while saving an injured fox. Said fox is actually an ayakashi, who one-sidedly decided to form a contract with the heroine because he found her soul beautiful.

Having obtained ayakashi-like powers as a result of the contract, the heroine was recruited by the shogunate (Team Yoritomo) to help them fight against the rebel army (Team Yoshitsune).

Ikemen Sengoku: Kennyo

Kennyo started out as the main antagonist in most of the routes. It was only in the newer routes (e.g. Sasuke, Mitsuhide) that he seems to have passed the role to Mouri Motonari and Kichou.

Honestly, I never saw him as a truly evil guy even though he keeps kidnapping the heroine in other routes. We all know the reason why he’s so intent on seeking revenge on Nobunaga. His hatred is justified (but not so much some of the things he did like sending someone to harm the heroine in one of the other routes). I’d also rage if someone burnt my home to the ground, killed everyone around me and slashed my good-looking face.

Stand My Heroes: The Praise Post

This is a praise post for my favourite game, Stand My Heroes (Sutamai).

I’ve been logging in to this game and actively playing it since 2016. This is the longest I’ve stuck around a game. Here’s the proof:

50 crystals as reward for logging in for the 1,250th day as of 1 Jun 2020. I think I’m probably one of the pioneer players lol.

History

I downloaded Stand My Heroes when it was just released in 2016. I was studying in Japan then and my language school mate who was very into mobile app otome games recommended it to me.

Ikemen Sengoku: Akechi Mitsuhide

😍😍😍

Honestly, Mitsuhide was not a character I was particularly interested in when I first started the game in 2015. I was all about Nobunaga (partly because of CV. Sugita Tomokazu). But playing his route made me understand and appreciate his charm better. I’m impressed at how the writers of Ikemen Sengoku can make ALL the sengoku warriors so likeable that it’s hard for me to declare a favourite sometimes. Even so, I do wonder why he became so insanely popular and ranked first in the latest popularity ranking. I mean I like him but why is he SOOO popular???

That aside, here’re my favourite parts about him and his story:

Sanzen Sekai Yuugi ~MultiUniverse Myself~: Orion Dreadnought

On to the second guy, Orion Dreadnought.

Character

Orion is a bounty hunter like Tomoe. He took on an underground request to kill Tomoe and first met her as an enemy. However, he apologised later on, admitting that the request was shady af and worked with her to catch the mastermind.

Despite being friendly and sociable (and flirty at times), Orion doesn’t reveal too much about himself. Definitely has some kind of baggage which plays a significant role in the plot development.

Sanzen Sekai Yuugi ~MultiUniverse Myself~: Kira Seishirou

Let’s start with the megane character, Kira Seishirou.

I chose to start with him first because he has the most obvious moe trait compared to the other two guys…? (Why do I sound so unsure lol.)

Character

Seishirou is…normal? I must admit I was a little surprised. He’s not a tsundere, sadist or kichiku – three typical traits of megane male characters in otome games. In my opinion. Guess I am too used to these male stereotypes in otome games.

Seishirou is serious, (kinda) rigid and commonsensical. He also has a strong sense of justice. His personality fits his occupation very well – a public officer working under the Iten Kanrikyoku, roughly translated (by me) as MultiUniverse Travel Management Bureau.

Seishirou’s work involves investigating cases of illegal travels between the universes. However, since such cases are few and far in between (because the existence of multi universes are kept secret from the public), he was sent on a one-year attachment as a liaison officer for bounty hunters to beef up his career portfolio.

Warning: Spoilers. I swear despite my intention to keep things summarised, I always end up writing the whole story orz. Skip to the end for my thoughts.

So, after not touching otome games forever, this is the title I chose to return to the otome gaming scene with. This is one of the newer ero otome games that I know of and well, I was curious to see how the ero otome game industry has developed after being away for so long. 😃
