The Internets Own Boy.

To start off with the blog post I would like to begin with that, the Internet has a very powerful impact on today's society and how people communicate whether it is good or bad. They ask does legislation of technology have a connection to technology and how fast the consumers are changing. I believe that the laws of technology are connected to each other because from a young age I was told that you are constantly being watched, when it came to social media or games, they see our every move meaning they pay people to watch how the consumers change. We may have an act called the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act that was created in 1986. The act protected hacking giving more protection to the users of technology, and connecting to the movie the Internets own boy Aaron Swartz was charged eleven times by the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA) because he was known to steal data from companies and “was arrested for systematically downloading academic journal articles from JSTOR” (Gerstein, 2011) This movie is a wake up call that the laws of the internet will always change once they believe that the users of the media or technology are overpowering their belief or the systems way of going against our human rights. In 1986 it wouldn’t be a surprise to know that they had no Internet or cellphones everything in that time era was more about communication by hand or mail. This started to change in the early 1986 on April 3rd, when IBM released the IBM PC Convertible, which was the first computer to use floppy disk hard drive and have similarities to modern day technology. The computers in the past were very bad compared to today’s technology, because back in the day the screen appeared to be very small; the power button also did not turn off the computer, it would be put in sleep mode because back in the day it had a hard time rebooting which meant starting up the computer. There was no room on the first computer for a hard drive disk, and parts such as a printer was able to be snapped on.

Now in 2012 I can say from a personal connection how the Internet worked that we are more on modern day technology and better appliances because we now have portable laptops that are a lot more travel friendly and have enough space for a big screen and CD’s, on the modern day laptop we don’t have any space for a floppy disk because we have a hard drive that saves the work called a USB which is a connection to how ancient and modern times connect. Before Internet people back in the days would find remedies on there own, no such thing as downloading articles everything they did was morally based off of resources. Now in today’s society the Internet takes over our lives, that is why the law is so easily connected with our personal decisions. Everything us consumers do or teenagers are put on the Internet. The reason that I picked this blogging post is because I believe once you tag the source people are constantly looking up the title and then you are able to spread your point of view on the movie while also connecting to today’s personal life.
