Hey I’m here!
As i read through many of these blogs I am encouraged by all the fearless Christian Brothers and Sisters sending out love and life. They use this medium like a canvas to draw pictures of God, that are both appealing and to some appalling, with grace and precision. I am often breathless when I read the Word of God because it illuminates dark recesses in my soul and refreshes my dry and weary bones. Other times I laugh at how I have read scriptures and missed the thing that jumps out at me today; like a playful game of hide and seek with the Father.
46 years of life and 26 years of Life in the Light have taught me that I am ever learning and ever coming into the knowledge of who Christ is in my life. I have not, and thankfully I will never know all there is to know about God. He has been many things to me along the way. At first Savior, then Judge and Condemner, Healer and Way Maker, now Graceful Friend, Sovereign Lord, Confidant and Yeshua; I am His and He is mine!
In this life He has taught me how to trust, taught me to understand, taught me to hear, and has made me to Love. “Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God” (Matt 5:8). I am blessed to see God in faces that don’t look like me, in people who may at first scare me, in those whose language is different than mine, and even in those others call enemy. I can see His hand at work in all of humanity. No, all roads do not lead to God- only Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life- but Jesus will come down any road to find you and lead you in The Way Everlasting. That is Really Good News.
Yes we live in dark times, but there is so much Light piercing through this darkness. As believers we must keep our lamps full of the Oil of the Word, keep our wicks trimmed of the fat of this world, and be ready in and out of season; in sickness and in health, for richer or for poorer, forsaking all others. I do not have lots of money to fly and bring encouragement to the Body working in the trenches around the world, nor have I the resources to save the world, but what I have in my hand I will use. I have the Light of God in me, this voice and this canvas. Hey, I’m here! Let’s paint a new picture of this World together.
