Now everyone in Gaza City is considered mentally ill, a person who feels depressed, feels insecure, feels fear and anxiety to the point of madness. Now we wait and listen to news of a truce or a cessation of war for 60 days, all of which are illusions and false promises. We have become indifferent to the news and promises because we do not have time to listen to them. Since sunrise, we stand in line to fill water, and most of the time we are not lucky enough to get any water, and if we manage to get a little, it is contaminated and unfit for human consumption. We are dying of thirst and hunger. My brother goes to aid to get flour under the bombing and under gunfire, and in the end he returns with nothing. We sleep with empty stomachs. We cannot sleep from the intensity of thirst and hunger. We are suffering in every sense of the word. We live a tragic life. Please put yourself in my place. Would you be able to live in this painful reality? Please help me to get out of this damned war by donating and sharing. Save us.

At this very moment, in front of images of children clinging to simple hopes inside boxes of nutritional supplements in Gaza, another dream fades: the dream of survival. On July 10, 2025, an Israeli airstrike near the “Project HOPE” clinic in Deir al-Balah killed 15 people — including young children — who were simply waiting their turn to receive food and medical aid.

The tears that soak Gaza’s streets are no longer limited to fleeting moments of pain; they are a constant scene. We are living amid the shattered lives of exhausted people — the most vulnerable among them being women and children. They stood in line for life, only to be met with death, as violence betrayed hope in the most brutal way.

In the face of this ongoing suffering, I ask you, dear friends, to stand with the people of Gaza — financially, and now. Any donation, large or small, opens a window of hope for a family struggling to stay alive. Let us be part of saving a life today, before it's too late.

i think in an attempt to counter the trend of 'writing characters in historical fiction who sound identical to modern day feminists or progressives in unrealistic ways' some people swing all the way back around in a decidedly anti-feminist arc to shit like 'actually, arranged marriages are not inherently bad, and also, we should feel bad for the men involved too' thousands of years of culture have felt bad for men not getting to fuck whoever they want, sire children on whoever they want- i'm sorry, but we've spent enough time mourning the loss of autonomy upper class men faced in arranged marriages, especially when you compare that to the marital rape, forced reproduction, physical abuse, and financial abuse regularly faced by their female counterparts.

don't get me wrong, i absolutely believe there were kind men who were genuinely heartbroken they couldn't marry the woman they loved and who also didn't want to cheat on their wife, but this is not the same thing as being maritally raped and forced to provide children

also i'm sorry but no one could physically force most of these men to consummate the marriage. most upper class men had the power to defy their families and break a betrothal, even if it would have heavy consequences for them financially and socially. men chose to reproduce this system of suffering. you can absolutely write historical fiction where women find love in an arranged marriage or feel positively towards the idea of an arranged marriage bc they love and trust their parents to choose well for them, or feel it is their duty, or really wants kids, or status, or wealth, but i really don't think the issue with historical fiction's arranged marriage trope is 'but what about the poor men?'
